So let's go onto the hypothetical brick road and assume that both your TV and Computer have slipped off a pier. They've both been caught in a whirlpool and you've only got the time to save one of them so you have to choose quickly.
Who will you save and who will you leave to face Poseidon's fury?

Personally, I'd save my PC. Sure it's a complete piece of shit but there's a lot of stuff on it I'd miss if it was lost to the depths and I haven't backed it up onto a different computer. Plus, what would I do without My Music, The Escapist, Steam and Minecraft? TV has been really shite lately and all the stuff I am interested in can just be seen on Iplayer so again, no huge loss.

EDIT:
Ok, Since the question has come up repeatedly...
Let's assume that each of your loved ones cannot be damaged by water because of... Science. But they still require oxygen so if they fall below they will drown (due to the lack of air) and they will also be brutally destroyed and tortured for years by an angry Sea God.

PC hands down.
It's a lot more valuable (1300?, while my TV is only 300?) and I use it like A LOT more than my TV so, computer it is.

My TV is a piece of garbage I nicked from a cheap motel-esque establishment, while my computer is the remnant of a once vast gaming computer, so powerful it was the envy of the neighbourhood, but now all it is is an outdated scrapheap held together by good intentions and probably ghosts.

It's just stuff, no worries. Maybe my friend knows a guy who knows a guy who has acquired some electronics that fell of a truck. I'll be fine.

My PC. I need this thing for everything! I love the internet too much and it can also be a TV when I ask it politely.

I have a large HD tv with three systems, a dvd player and a vcr hooked up to it so I'd save that and buy a new pc to replace the piece of crap one I have. I can surf the web on my phone and tablet until I get a new one.

I just spent 15,000 NOK ($2600) on a balls to the wall gaming rig. No way I'd ever abandon it.

My PC. Sorry Tv, I love you and all but you don't have a bunch of stuff stored on you like the computer does.

I'm a little confused, wouldn't be item's be ruined the moment they hit the water anyways? D:
