Your unique skill or talent?

It's a common fact that with so many people in the world, no matter what, someone is going to be better at something than you on some level. It's a humbling fact to me personally. Sometimes they're incredibly practical skills, such as at your job, while others are absolutely useless.

What do you consider to be your unique skill or talent? What are you able to do that few people seem to be not able to, useless or otherwise?

Personally, I have two things I consider "skills".
First, I'm very quick to pick up new games. The first time I played Guitar Hero, I was predictably awful. Now though, even with the new "redesigned" guitar, I'm able to 5 star 98-100% any song on Expert.
I was the same with PC competitive FPS games.
Currently I've become very good at Rocket League. I guess you consider it more having good reflexes.

Second, I'm pretty good at holding my breath underwater for such an out of shape guy. I haven't quite made it yet, but I'm almost able to swim from one end of a public pool to the other underwater on a single breath. (I believe it's about a little more than 50 meters?)

Edit: I realize me putting "unique" has limited a few people in what they consider skills. Please disregard that. Any skill or talent you feel you're good at and are proud to show, please do, regardless of how unique it may or may not be. So far it's been really fun to read what you all are capable of doing!

I suppose I am quite strong for my size, 5'7 and 160 lb currently. I haven't tried my max's in a while, but my PR for deads is 365 lb, my squat right now is 295, bench I can get 225 on a good day, OHP is a ***** and I can strict 135, just started cleaning and my record is 185 so far.

I seem to be uncommonly calm.

I learn new things quickly, although I find that I plateau just as quickly.

I don't know.

Holding your breath is agony. I remember watching a dude on Fear Factor (he was a pro swimmer or something) and he held his breath for like 2 mins. I was flabbergasted.

I'm fairly certain I've come close to legitimately drowning attempting to swim so far...but for some reason when I finally jet my head from under the water and see my friends clear on the other side of the pool, I feel like I accomplished something.

Too bad I'm not fast though. The only reason I can get so far is because I take it rather slow in attempt to conserve oxygen. I sort of just let my body glide with what little push I use.

Being a drunk commentator at a beer-pong match, apparently. I have it from good sources that I was hilarious. The american in the USA vs. Great Britain match blamed me for losing because of my awesome british accent and announcer voice.

<- Not british.

Also drunk posting is awesome. Way more fun than sober posting.

I have a remarkable talent for below odds selection of winning horses at the racetrack. Specifically flats though, not harnass. Harnass I'm okay at. But the gambling gods do not like me picking a winning flats racer. So usually I just go with my gut who'll place. Avoid NTDs like the plague.

I can also roll dice really badly, often, except for this one time when the RNG gods decided to throw me a bone and I rolled a six some five times in a row.

I can also draw but lots of people can do that.

I've won several Armies on Parade, speed painting and single model contests at my local hobby stores.
OH! And I'm probably the most pessimistic person you've ever met! So there's that...

Let us see.

I am easily one of the strongest people in the province with a Deadlift of 635lb, a Squat of 555lb, and a Benchpress of 335lb. I have not tried any of my one rep maxes in a while so I am confident I could deadlift 3x my weight at 660lb, squat near 600lb, but my bench had suffered due to a shoulder injury I had just recovered from. I hope to get it up to at least 355lb before the provincial competition this October!

I have also put 10 years into 3D modeling and Digital and Traditional art.

Some of my less unique skills or talents are rudimentary piano playing and compound bow archery. Lastly, because I run so damn much I can hold my breath for 2 and a half minutes when sitting stationary with my eyes closed. I am not sure why I can only do it with my eyes closed buy hey.

I'm a pretty crack microbiologist, myself. For instance I can tell the difference between a coagulase negative staphylococcus species and a young yeast colony just by taking a careful sniff. I can also separate gram positive bacilli from Yersinia pestis (the former is not very dangerous but the latter causes bubonic plague!) just by looking at how the colonies grow on sheep's blood agar.
... That's a skill, right?
...Right?

I can also reduce my heart rate to 122/82 after going on a mile long run in twenty seconds.

I'm not really sure if I have anything particularly unique, I used to climb competitively, and at my best I made 6th place in my age category in Canada (18-19 at the time, and it was a pretty competitive category too).

I've also done a fair bit of work in computer graphics for someone in their undergrad, although I'm not sure how much you consider that a skill or talent.

Probably one of the things I'm most proud of is this:

This project I did on real time water caustics. It was absolutely a nightmare to implement, but it was based on a really interesting paper, and the results came out far better than I (or my professor) expected it to.

The water surface looks pretty bad, I acknowledge, but we just wanted something easy to hack together that looked enough like water to generate the caustics.

I can't say that I was expecting at the level of either of these coming into this thread.

Puns. I am really really good at puns. I've acually been banned from both DMing and making my own characters during DnD night, because apparently names like Ellie Phantom, The Lardge Necromancer or The Holy Matt Tr?money "break dramatic flow." Heck, I once was threatened with a banning from Projared's twitch stream because I was flooding the chat with puns. I've legitimately lost friends over this

When I die, I won't be insulting enough for the City of Diss, but I know there's a special throne in the Punderworld with my name on it.

No one ever does. Our chief weapon is surprise, surprise and fear. Two, our two weapons are surprise and fear and ruthless efficienty, three, our three weapons! And an almost fanatical devotion to the arts. FOUR, no, amongst our weapons! Amongst our weaponry are such elements as fear, supr... argh, I'll come in again!

Oh, one skill I forgot to mention is that I can force enormous amounts of air into my stomach to burp as long and loud as I feel like. The problem is that when I have an upset stomach people tend not to believe me despite never crying wolf.

I can write backwards/mirrored and I can generally read upside down and backwards, though with some difficulty and nowhere near as fast as I can read normally.

Two skills that I exceed in.

Master of the Irish goodbye, and generally just slipping away unnoticed.
I have a very good memory. Especially for names, faces, people, facts, etc. If I talk with you for just five minutes, I generally remember whatever bit of info you share about yourself. I play dumb about it though, so I won't look creepy.

I'm an amazing cook.
I know alot of people claim they are good cooks but I'm am talking about rainman level supernatural cooking skills, I assume it stems from my super sensitive smell (which oddly only applies to food) but I am able to instantly tell what ingredients and proportions to add to a dish with the slightest taste and most of the time just by smelling it which sometimes gets annoying to my family when i casually stroll past a meal in progress and mention it needs more salt and a dash of cayenne or whatever.

I'm also able to build a dish from any group of ingredients I casually look over and improve and cook recipes just by glaceing at them which allows me to cook in different styles even though I have never cooked them before.

I hate this. Every damn time I delve into a new subject I pick it up exceptionally quick and then bottom out. I'd rather be good at one thing than this Jack of all trades, master of none crap.

OT: None right now. i used to be able to rap at a decent level, now my Youtube channel is a mausoleum to that talent.

Fucking hell, man! You're god damn shredded! Feel like you could tear me in half as easily as breath.

Ummm.... I'm pretty lackluster in the skill department. Guess I can type a lot of words a minute without actually following the actual method of typing.... Well this is depressing ain't it?
