Well, the first console I had was an N64, but I was more than content to watch my brother and mother play it.

The first game I ever played was Skies of Arcadia: Legends on the gamecube

Well, it depends on what you call a console. When it comes to a console in the strictest sense of the word, the first was the NES and Super Mario Brothers. I was.... 5, maybe.

In the "computers that play games" category, my first would be a Commodore 64, and I was 3 years old when I started playing that, and have no idea what the first game was I popped in and played. Games for the C64 aren't quite as stand-out-ish as early NES games were, and I had a crapload of games for it.

Sega Mega Drive was my first console. It included seven games (Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Revenge of Shinobi, Super HangOn, Columns, World Cup Italia 90 and Sonic The Hedgehog). Best Christmas ever! Sonic was the first game i played that night.

8 or 9 and it was a PS2 and Socom.

It was Christmas morning and my 25 year old brother (who already had a PS2) was home for the holidays. There were two presents under the tree for me from him, a small and a large.

I opened the first to find SOCOM and I figured it was a present for me to bring to [i/]his[/i] house to play. I opened the large present to find a cake-plate box staring up at me. It seemed like two crappy presents. A game that was more for him and a damn plate.

Low and behold, inside the box was one of the best presents I ever received.

And they all lived happily ever after........

Except for the PS2, which was later replaced and sold.

Man, am I a gaming infant or what?! My first game console was the Nintendo DS and my first game was Mario Kart DS, both when I was 8.

For consoles I owned, it's a GameCube (technically my brother's, but shut up), and probably Super Smash Bros. Melee.

But counting consoles I played but didn't own, it'd be my cousin's Nintendo 64 and Goldeneye, respectively.
