Do you remember the time when you first discovered YouTube? What was the very first video you saw on the site?

This one:

He goes by Milkwad now, and is very funny. I would definitely recommend checking out his videos. I can't remember how I stumbled across his Nintendocentral channel, but I have been a long time follower.

The earliest I can remember is:

By now the video is 9 years old, which means I was about 12 when it came out. It took a while for our family to get internet.

I'm pretty sure it was either Chad Vader or the first episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! the abridged series.

Honestly I really have no idea dude. It was probably something lame someone linked in an IRC channel in 2006 or 2007. The first thing I distinctly remember watching was the Nostalgia Critic's review of "Cartoon All Stars" though.

Come to think of it I do remember being shown that through a link in an IRC. So it might actually be the first one.

It was in 2005 and it was an episode of that love Hina anime. I had no idea what youtube or that series was like at the time. A friend told me that I shouldn't get into that sort of thing. Then a guy friend said I should absolutely get into that sort of thing.

I watched the beginning of an episode where all the girls are working in a restaurant and speak one line as introduction. When it got to the girl with an atrocious country accent, I clicked out of the video and didn't return to that site for a year.

lolz no. I was in High School when Youtube came out. At that point there was no such thing as a "hit channel" There weren't "Youtubers" or "Let's Players" At that point Youtube existed mainly of old flash memes that people had turned into youtube videos, and tutorials for random stuff. I probably first used it for information on some school project. Possibly a Windows XP how to of some sort, would be my best guess.

I made an account about 4 years ago, and this is the first video I liked:

The classic. I remember when this had less then a million views. I didn't think that view count was possible (I was young and naive).

God, remember when the term "viral video" still had meaning, and it wasn't viral because marketing company A had decided to pay a guy with a botnet for views?

Dear god that was long ago, but the first video I ever watched on YouTube was probably this.
I used to love the shit out of this song. Still like it, but not nearly as much as when I first heard it back in middle school.

That's one of my first ones too! I remember my sister would come home on the weekends from college and show my brother and I these videos on a strange site called "Youtube" that her friends had recommended. We had such bad internet back then so it took forever to load.

OT: I believe this was the first one. It was in 2005 I believe. Though it says in came out in 2006, maybe it's not the original.

Here's another!

Nope... But, I do remember that it was around 2008/2009 where I was finding all of these "Mario/Zelda"-esque(?) raps on Youtube that either sounded "corny" as fuck or "what the fuck" as fuck...

All in all, it all lead to finding the awesomeness that was The Adventures of Duane and Brando!!

Honorable mention to this video below for introducing me into Touhou around the same time of watching those above videos:

(Wow... This whole post was a trip down memory lane, I guess...)

Tokyo Breakfast. A friend of mine told me about some funny video and produced a link to youtube. That was literally the first time I've ever heard of it.

I won't provide a link to the video but it's searchable, it's a little... offensive.

I don't remember really using You Tube until my brother showed me YuGiOh abridged. Beyond that, I didn't use You Tube much except listening to music. I do watch a number of Jesse Cox lets plays and Fan Fridays, but the one's I keep checking back for are the Cox n Crendor animated shorts. Whenever I want to laugh, I watch those, especially the Choking on the Goat Meat one. I do occasionally watch Total Biscuit, cause he seems to have a lot of interesting things to say about the games industry, which I lack a lot of knowledge about.

First video I found was sadly deleted by it's creator, and I don't remember the name of it sadly. I found YouTube back when it started in 2006, but I couldn't be on for too long because I had dial up internet, and I had that until 2008...
I did however like the video when I first made my account in 2007, so I could always watch it, but when I went to check on the video, it was gone. T^T
Wish I could remember it.

Jeez I can't remember that for back. I think it might have been the scary ghost episode of Zack and Cody that they weren't allowed to show on TV
