I waited until SP1 was out to get Vista, same as what I'll do for Win7, and have had no real problems bar figuring out certain stuffs.

Governments/Authorities who decide to switch to a recently release OS is just silly imo.

I use it.
I guess it's okay.
Such a simple and accurate summation. I don't understand the Vista hate: once you disable the gimmicky crap it runs very well, at least on my laptop. I've rarely had problems with it, except one evil update that messed with my ability to use Word. After that was fixed, I had no more issues.

Vista is just Windows M.E V2. A fucking joke and I refuse to touch it. I view it as no better than malware and would not let it anywhere near my PC.
Name one bad thing that can't be fixed within one minute.

I have never had any problems with it, other than it not being able to run a few old games but thats what dosbox is for..

my vista works great. i only get a problem with steam games here and there where the graphics glitch a lil bit but its easily fixed by restarting steam, which isnt a problem cuz you can always tell immediately when the glitch has happened as soon as you start up the game. other than that, ive had no problems with vista. i actually prefer vista well over xp. getting on a computer with xp feels weird to me anymore. lol

I've never had any problems with it and like its sleek look over XP's, though it does refuse to play the odd old game now and then, but aside from that no problems.

i originally used XP but for some reason XP didn't like my processor and crashed constantly. Then i tried Vista, installed fine but i got a BSoD at the log on screen. Windows 7 seems to be the only windows that works for this computer.

Did it really get banned in Texas?

And I hate it also, it's slow and full of clutter and pointless features.
The Texas State government passed legislation that prohibits publicly owned computers from upgrading to Vista.

Vista pretty good, haven't had too many problems and it looks good.
That is so incredibly awesome. GW Texas.

I like vista 64, allows me to put as much Ram as I wish into my machine and it will actually read and use all of it. Had 1 driver problem for 64bit but I resolved that and since I've had no problems at all.

It seems a bit clumsy in places, putting too much emphasis on looking good (which it does). For example why is 'shut down' so out of the way?

Bloated piece of junk with far too many problems to justify the meager benefits. Been using Windows 7 beta as my main OS for a few weeks now, and so far it's exactly what Vista SHOULD have been. It's not without flaw, some serious changes from what people are used to with 2000/XP, but it's far more intuitive and user friendly than Vista was, and less (at least less obviously) intrusive for the average user. Vista can DIAF, I plan to use XP-32 and 7-64 in Dual boot.

The real reason that every person says they hate it is because when it came out, it was riddled with bugs....Like every new thing that comes out. That coupled with the fact that it pretty much copied Mac's dumbed down, incredibly user friendly format, had PC users in an uproar (we get it PC's. You don't like Mac's. Calm down already).

Either way, you all better get used to it. Vista is here to stay, and soon, it's gonna be all there is.

I've never had any problems with it. I can research assignments, listen to music, use internet sites, type things up and play computer games. It's been fine for me, and looks polished too. You won't find me saying a bad word against Vista, it's done everything I've needed.

In my opinion, asking me about my operating system is a bit like asking me my view on my toaster: I don't really care one way or the other but so long as it lives up to it's purpose it's doing great.

I just find that it has too many unnecessary/annoying features... UAC is one of the better examples. I understand the ideas behind Vista, but they changed a lot of stuff that didn't need changing.
