What do you reckon is your strangest or most unusual fear, or thing that just grosses you out? For me it's wrists. Can't stand 'em, get them out of my face. No idea why, just never liked them. Ankles too to a certain extent, I'm generally okay with the non-veiny/ tendony side of both but I'd rather not remember I have them...

Yeah, I guess I'd be pretty scared of Attila the Hun.

I have a huge phobia of squid and octopuses, but that's not too unusual- they are pretty alien after all.

Other than that, I really hate stickers or wet paper and can't stand having either on my skin, I'm not really sure why. The sensation, or even imagining the sensation makes me wretch, I've no idea why I find it so disgusting.

I used to be really afraid of washing machines.

Probably because I once hit myself with the stupid stick a bunch and locked myself inside one.

I got over it.

I have this bizarre, strong aversion to making phone calls. I'm not sure it's a "phobia" precisely, since I don't get panic attacks or anything, and I can make a phone call if I really, really need to, but it still makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I'm not sure where this comes from or when it started, but it's there, and it's the main reason that I'm one of the few people in my age group who doesn't own or ever want to own a cell phone.

My skin creeps when I take a wet washcloth and squeeze the water out. The sound and sensation sends shivers down my spine. What makes this phobia especially weird is that I swim lots.

Either glossy paper (like for photos) or the sound of plastic squealing a death dirge against other plastic. Like when you open a bag of chips.

The sensation of glossy paper makes me want to scratch it, and when I scratch it, it makes me want to kill somebody.

The sound of plastic just forcibly relaxes all the muscles in my hand; I can't even make a fist.

I don't really have one that's weird... my major phobia is more awkward.

I do have a friend who's got a phobia against gas planets though. I guess that's pretty weird.

Cotton balls. Just thinking about them makes my skin crawl. Whoever decided to put those in pill bottles, I hate you. Even if I pry them out with a pen, or something, I still feel it.

Fat People.

I can eat dinner right through a surgery scene in Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, House, or during the corpse examinations in Bones, but the second fat people are walking around scantily clad, I am done.

Used jewelry, and necklaces in particular. The thought of this metallic object being on someone day and night, for weeks and months or years without being cleaned, getting sweaty and digusting. I basicly see them as bacterial hazards, and people look better without a bacterial hazard on them.

Dont know why i am so squemish to them, i dont have any trouble with disgusting stuff like cleaning the shower sink or stuff like that, but ask me to hand you your necklace and you will get a frown from me and i will take it with a tweezer.

For some reason holes deep underwater scare me. If it is a perfect circle it just makes things even worse. I have absolutely no idea why. And remember that one relic in far cry 3 where you have to swim deep down in one of those? Yeah, some people were scared shitless about the sharks, for me, that abyss together with my need to get all relics was a nightmare.

I feel pretty much the same way, though my fear is based specifically on the initiation of a phone call, either picking up one that is ringing or making the call myself. I can generally handle the actual conversation well enough, but starting it is thoroughly unpleasant. I think it is something to do with the disconcerting feeling of not being able to see the person I'm going to be talking to, the lack of body language, not knowing whether I'm going to interrupt them, and having to cope with the sub-par audio quality of phone communication, as well as the anticipation of these things which gets slightly exaggerated in my mind. While I do own a phone, I use it so little I have to deliberately make a call every few months so my SIM doesn't get cut off.

There is an animal in the world, known as The Suriname Toad, I am in general, and animal lover, particularly reptiles and amphibians. The Suriname Toad however I hate, I am so utterly disgusted by this creature that human language does not have the capacity to adequately communicate how I feel. I literally have to fight the urge to vomit when I see this creature, it is the one and only animal on the planet that I want completely and utterly extinct as soon as possible.

I hate this, I have it too, but I actually do get anxiety attacks. Especially if I hear it ring, or I hear a phone ringing in a show/movie. Once I get connected to whoever I need to speak to I feel better though.

OT: Garbage trucks. They scare me. They're loud, they stink, the men riding on the back could hurt me for no reason. Also the air brake sound gets me really bad.

Not a phobia but touching paper after I wash my hands. Ech. It's like nails on a chalkboard.

EDIT: Ohh yeahhh. When I see something chewier than raw ground beef, like steak or something, my teeth tingle. I have a strong urge to bite down.

What, you don't appreciate the Surinam toad's novel take on live birth?

Motherfucking centipedes. Household centipedes.

What's worse is they're easy enough to hallucinate if you've got a quick moving 'floater' on one of your eyes and happen to glance across a blank patch of wall at the same time.

I wouldn't say I'm phobic as 'afraid' of them, but they pull some sort of fundamental revulsion and compel me to scour the visited area in a frantic search and destroy mission.
