-Tweak stealth (Make sneaking harder, but sneak attacks instant kills [Or Nearly instant]).

EDIT: This is already in TES V already. :O I am a happy camper.

-Get rid of the leveling creatures (Already done :D).

-Get rid of the telepathic guards who somehow know that you've stolen a worthless cup in the middle of the forest...and will murder you for doing so.

-Exclusive guilds. If you join a guild of necromancers you shouldn't be able to join the Mage's Guild, in fact, you should fight them.

-More variety in weapons (Spears, maybe even things like crossbows? I would make a crossbow-wielding character in a heartbeat.).

-"Choose your look" armor. Ideally I'd like to see almost all armor be essentially equal, that way you can just wear what you think looks cool instead of what's technically the best armor. There would have to be some way to "Level" your armor over time to increase it's effectiveness though, maybe it could gain stat-boosting traits the longer you wear it. Also, just more armor to choose from would be nice.

-No more copy/pasted dungeons please, I want every location to feel at least somewhat unique.

That's all I can come up with for now.

Smooth animations and a more varied world that doesn't fell so dull at times and less friendly fire and spells track their target so I wont miss when in combat... oh and less repetitive phrases that the MPCs say.

1) I want the AI to be realistic, no guards with ESP knowing that you stole
2) I want better dialogue assignment, no having the same voice actor talking to himself

Other than that, the game was awesome. Dialogue assignment I could put up with, but psychic guards significantly nerfed my playstyle.

The only thing I really want is mod support. That way I can buy the game, hibernate for a couple of years and then come back to find out that the mod community's done a better job at making the game than Bethesda could.

I really, really want to respond to this, but I'll end up writing something resembling an essay.

I merely want Bethesda to keep their promises, unlike with Oblivion. Because the promises are, much like with Oblivion, very promising and more than enough to persuade me to at least rent it.

This. Of course, I think Todd Howard's the least trustworthy person in the whole industry. Yes, I'd take Peter Molyneaux's word over his without hesitation.

I would say I want the game not to disappoint me, but my expectations for it are low enough that it would probably have to somehow give me syphilis to pull that off.

I want persistent changes to the world. When you are the head of the Mage's Guild for example, mages in the world should recognise this and act accordingly. Your status, acheivements and the like should be reflected in how NPCs react to and deal with you.

Definitely. If I'm the head of the fighter's guild then they should show deference to me in more than just a dialogue change.

what.

less features is not a good thing, especially when they are entirely optional. Anyway, I loved manning up and taking down ordinators with my fists on morrowind.

Agreed.

If they just released morrowind again, i would be more likely to buy that than skyrim.

Damn straight.

They should include the exclusive factions from morrowind (though improve the system so it's harder to abuse), and the number of factions morrowind had.

They should restore all of the skills/spells missing in oblivion (Levitate! I mean really, how can you remove that?) and add new ones as well (dual wielding).

Towns should definitely NOT be separate cells like on oblivion. I don't really like the idea of unexplained fast travel, the system on morrowind with transport you had to pay for made sense, and also meant you had to walk around a bit, which is a good thing.

1) Allow the player to actually the main character in the storythis time.

2) Interesting and diverse scenery. Games like TES are essentially founded in exploration, please give us something interesting to explore.

3) No psychic guards.

4) Hire someone to design dungeons. Someone compotent. Seriously the only game with dungeons as bad as Oblivion is Dragon Age.

5) Give us cities that are actually big enough to explore, not just the size of a small suburb. Even with it's painfully unhelpful layout Vivec was a batter city than the Imperial City.

6) Better stealth system. Just copy Thief.

7) Bring back all the coll spells. Like the ones that you fly and teleport.

8) No fast travel.

9) More interesting locations not linked to any quest. For example in Morrowind the main houses had vaults filled with huge ammounts of loot, now as far as I know there wasn't any quest to break into them they were just there for anyone who was a thief-style character and who wanted a challenge. Stuff like this is good because it encourages players to think and plan and it rewards good play.

10) Add in an climbing/acrobatics system similar to Mirror's Edge.

11) Get rid of (or nerf) the spells that make certain skills obsolete.

12) More quests with no "right" solution.

13) No level scaling. At all.

15) More effects of non-mechanical quest rewards. To elaborate, if I'm high ranking and powerful in the Mage's GGuild, the Theives Guild, the Fighter's Guild and the Dark Brotherhood then I should be able to use this to help in certain qeusts.

16) Only membership of one faction at a time. Sure I can do quests for other factions but not become an actual member. This is to prevent the situation in Oblivion where you're the head of every major organisation in the country, it's just stupid.

17) No peruasion minigame.

18) More voice actors.

19) More quests with multiple approaches and solutions. For example if I need to break into a castle I should be able to do that by a) attacking from the front b) bribe/bluffing my way in c) climbing up the castle walls d) speaking to my contacts in the town and finding out about a secret enterance. You could do these in Oblivion butgenerally it was just one solution per quest when there should be multiple approaches possible.

20) Mutiple quest pathes that conflict with one another. Take New Reno in Fallout 2 for example. There are four rival gangs in a state of cold war over the city, which one you side with can greatly alter what quests you do, what rewards you get and how the plot progresses. And you can't do all the quests for all the sides. A few quests that combine this with point 19 above is better than 50 quests to kill tome goblins in the sewers.

21) More diversity of enemies. This a fantasy game use your imagination.

22) No cliffracers. They still crowd my nightmares.

23) More interesing magical items. A Mace of Smashing isn't interesting, it's useful but not interesting. The Grey Cowl was interesting, Scroll of Icarian flight are interesting more things like those.

24) Breakable locks.

25) No lock-picking minigame.

26) Nire a proper writer for the dialog.

27) More interesting bad guys. For example the evil necromancer god-king should not have the same overly-effeminate High Elf voice actor.

28) An in game economy. Just a simple one so some items are cheaper in some places and more expensive in others. I don't want to turn the game into Elite or anything but allowing me to be a merchant when travelling between towns would make the game a little more immersie since it rewards the player for being interested in the game-world.

That's all I can think of now.

I agree with the "Let us delete spells from our list" suggestion. Having all those redundant spells just got annoying.

I desperately want factions to involve you more. When I reach Arch-mage of the mages guild I don't want it to just stop. I want to have duties to complete for that job. Whether it be to go talk to the Elder Council or whatever, I want more involvement. What I don't want is for the guilds just to say 'hi' when I walk by and then maybe add on my rank.

The guilds just seem attached with blutac and have little to no affect on the main quest.

EDIT: I also wish for no more Shock Atronarchs anywhere ever again. After just being pummeled by one only just winning with a small amount of health, I stumble upon another just slightly to my left that I have to fight. I barely ever get a hit in once they've touched me.

Higher lethality combat

More variety in attacks

The ability to actually kill human enemies instantly with a backstab

1) Prime Objective: MAKE THE GAME NOT FUCKING CRASH EVERY 30 MINUTES ON AN AVERAGE PC.
Yes those CAPS were necessary. Nixing Gamebryo is the first step (that they have indeed taken. Good.) Making it so that the game is optimized for something OTHER THAN AN XBOX 360 when it's ported is step 2.
Think it doesn't matter? There a number of PS3 owners out there who are rather tired of being treated as second-class customers despite paying the same amount for the game. Just ask them about Black Ops. I'm sure it'll be a riot.

2) Wind back level-scaling. Without distinction in regions, the exploring might be safer, but it carries no weight or tension. Adventuring requires tension of some sort, or you end up with shit like Fable, where nothing ever threatens/scares or forces you to adjust your approach.

3) No more Hadoken-logic spells. I understand that the game is going to be more combat-centric, so expand on the utility of spells beyond "Element Touch, Element Bolt, Element-ball../over time/instantaneous". Give each element some flavor, or at least some better targeting options.
Rebalance your existing effects so there isn't one or two amazing defensive options with everything else be relegated to the shit pile because there is no way they can compete (hi there Fire/Shock/Ice Shields).

4) Either focus strongly on the central plot, or focus on plot strings. Don't pull the Fallout 3 approach where you establish characters only to immediately dismiss them after one fucking mission.

5) If you pull the Horse Armor DLC gig on us I swear I will take a lemon zester to the lead designer's unmentionables...
