Everyone gets sick every now and then, but when was your worst case of any sickness? (flu, high fevers, etc.) I apologize if this post brings back bad memories

New years day this year.

Remember kids, Alcohol poisoning sucks.

Couldn't eat anything for the whole day and was throwing up every hour. Oh and did I mention it was summer. In Australia.

Well when I was in year one I caught a really bad flu and got 8 weeks off school, because the teacher didn't believe me when I said I was sick.

I had a fever of 106 once.

That really sucked. I started halucenating.

I saw Disney characters all around me. My dad had turned into a green 3 eyed beast and my cat looked like a small lion with horns.

Pretty fucking trippy.

Syrup chug, inspired by Super Troopers.

One of the worst decisions I ever made (next to this drinking game I tried based off an unbelievably horrid fanfic).

I had Scarlet Fever a few years ago, it was the worst thing I have ever experienced, thank god for modern antibiotics.

For those of you who have never had it (aka most of you) it looks like you have chicken pox, your throat swells up and feels like it was raped by a cheese grater, so no eating, and you feel tremendously tired.

Some kind of fever and congestion. I was pretty much laid up for about eight days because of it in early summer.

I had some pretty bad virus when I was like seven years old. I can't remember much but apparently I lost a lot of weight. I was in hospital for about a week or a bit less than that as well. I also remember the constant diarrhea that came along with this virus. Not having control of your bowels isn't fun, let me assure you of that. I remember going to the doctors a lot, then one day my parents said I was going to the doctors again, I fell asleep in the car and woke up in the carpark of the hospital. Can't remember much else of it, this happened back in like 2001.

Ooh, steppin' it up a notch.

Anyway I got the Chicken Pox in 2nd grade and got out of school for weeks, thought I can't remember exactly how many. I just remember lying in bed, watching tv, trying not to move. For multiple weeks.

I had a fever for a week, that turned out to be the precursor to Hepatitis A. I was 13, and I was yellow with jaundice. My treatment included taking in as much sugar as I possibly could. So, out with Hepatitis, hello Diabetes (luckily, I didn't develop diabetes, but I'm worried, since it runs in the family).

Ok I got one for you.

http://spinalmeningitis.org/

Imagine the worst headache you have ever had...ok you got it?
Now imagine it multiplied by 10.
I am not even exagerateing.
I was in the hospital for a week and it got really bad quite a few times.

They did a spinal tap on me, where you inject a needle into the base of your spine and extract fluid, sometimes it still hurts.
Even after I got home all I did was lay in bed for another week.
I never want that to happen to me or anyone ever again.

Excruciating stomach pain for a week or 2, when I was about 8. It would only go away if I found a comfortable position, which would take about half an hour, then renew if I even budged. Oh and occasionally vomiting. My family thought it was gastroenteritis but to this day we don't actually know.

It was definitely when I had denial!swineflu in the summer.
Who doesn't love waking up in the middle of the night unable to breathe, and thinking you're going to die in your sleep?

...especially when all your friends from around the world are staying with you for fan event.

It felt like everytime I started to get better I'd push myself to the limits again. I was sick from Mid-July until the end of August.

Once I caught an extremely nasty stomach bug which had me vomiting and defacating at the same time every 5 minutes. It went on like that for a few days until we had to make an appointment to see the doctor. There I got an injection into my left cheek (Not the kind you find on your face...the other kind) and after a day or two of recovery I felt so much better.

More than once I had to be rushed to the ER due to severe asthma attacks which nearly resulted in death... I think it was four or five times? Then later around the age of 15-16 I had severe Bronchitis which resulted in an inability to sleep. I was up for about 32 hours and was blacking out every few minutes only to be woken by racking fits of coughing. Even after I "got better" my lungs burned and ached every time I took too deep a breath. That lasted for about a week after. >_< Oh and now I've got a stomach condition of some sort which has made eating a frightening experience. :<

That. I was in the hospital from October 13 until November 5, thank God for competent surgeons. (and luckily for me I got to keep some of my large intestine so my body still functions normally)

Before I went into the hospital though my symptoms were:

102F fever
Stomach pain
Hallucinations
Vomiting (I couldn't even keep down plain water)
Dehydration

After I came out of surgery, my surgeon told me that my large intestine had basically developed a ton of perforations and so it was pretty much poisoning me.

[sarcasm]Fun! [/sarcasm]
