Red Ninja: End of Honour

I think I'm the only one I know who suffered this torturous turd of a game.

Actual worst game of the past 9 years (see what I did there?)- Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing

Tied for most overrated piece of crap that unfortunately changed the industry for the worst would naturally be: World of Warcraft and Halo.

Halo is shit because Halo is shit. I was pointing out that Bungie is capable of not making shit, and yet somehow shat out Halo.
Care to offer up some qualifying statements there?
Read my original post in this thread.
Well I have and I can honestly say that it is one of the most opaque things I've read today. Let me elaborate, I don't have a problem with you saying that the gameplay, story, voice acting, etc. sucks, so long as you can provide a legitimate reason as to why (i.e. you can't just say "It sucks because it sucks" because you end up sounding like this* little turd). And I would ask you to qualify what exactly you mean by "doesn't require any skill to play" but now that I think about it perhaps not, as that is the most subjective damn argument one could make, hell I have a friend who says that Ninja Gaiden 2 on the hardest difficulty setting is "easy", and I say that his notion of difficulty is downright "masochistic". Lastly, and at least do this so long as you are discussing this with me. Please do not use nostalgia as a grounds of actual criticizm, because as far as I'm concerned it's absolute bullshit, because if you honestly need to use the memories of a game you played over a decade ago to justify the fact that you don't like a new one, it tells me that you either can't find any real criticism or you are on a freaking mission to hate said game, and thus your opinions don't really matter (sort of like how the opinions of an anti-semmite wouldn't really be valid in an argument over whether or not Stephen Speilberg is still a good director or not.)

Need For Speed: Underground. All I wanted was straight forward generic racing, which I got, but with the added sheen of pandering to the Fast and The Furious audience. This meant a lot of boring scenery, boring cars, boring races, and drifting challenges. I might have been able to stomach it, if the graphics weren't complete ass by PS2 standards, let alone gamecube. It was just a dark pixelated port of a port of a port. And, it froze on me when I was in first place, way out ahead of everybody, inches from the finish line. Not just once, but like five times.

(Drag racing was fun, I think.)

The next candidate would be the gamecube port of True Crime Streets of LA. The game wasn't that bad, with fun driving and shooting mechanics and voice acting from Christopher Walken. And, it promised a game world that covered every inch of the real world map of Los Angeles. But the commercial showed ocean-side cliffs, and when you tried to drive north to explore these cliffs (which took a long time) the game would freeze. You could never get to that part of the game because I'm fairly certain they never bothered to render it.

Sonic the Hedgehog. Oh childhood friend... oh how you've failed me. The Sonic games to come may have been worse, but Sonic the Hedgehog started the descent.

UFO: Aftermath. Worst game of the decade AND worst game ever.
I'm with you on this, a bad game hurts so much more when you love its predecessor so much. Although i think it has nothing to do with the same guys who did X-Com, but then they destroyed the series long before Aftermath with the terrible Interceptor.

Also, for me, the Sims series represents all that is wrong in the games industry.... nay, the world because people actually buy that crap and the insane amount of addons.

oh and in response to your response to PoisonUngai's response to this thread, it is possible to genuinely not like popular titles. i didnt like halo 3 (although 1 and 2 were bite the back of your hand fabulous). It doesnt necessarily mean they're trying to be 'edgy' as you put it. Any chance at all you might be projecting just a little bit? Agressively dismissing other people's opinions because they dont tally with yours, and especially on the internet of all places, is hardly the most oxygen-deprived region of the moral high ground.

...but then, i'm "stupid", what would i know....
In a world with Daikatana, ShellShock Nam 2 and the Wii how is Halo the worst game of the decade?
Ah but i didn't say it was. the other fella did. i was merely showing some solidarity with the other person you quoted. I still enjoyed halo 3, even if it was a let-down. honestly you should really read people's posts before you compose your rebuttal.
and i will grant you, the wii is a joke.

I'd have to go with Legendary or Big Rig, Legendary had both a horrible concept, horrible graphics and just f'ed up controls but Big Rig's was just an all around broken game

The worst game I have played this decade?

Powerpuff Girls: Chemical X-traction

M'sister bought it, and it is the worst thing that has ever touched my N64.

I cleansed the evil with some epic goldeneye.

My WORST game of the decade has to be between Shadow the Hedgehog or Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly.
