If it's supposed to be a climactic fight, I'd nick
I love it because it's so unapologetically gothic and badass, just like sparda himself. No real intro or outro, or even some less intense parts. Just one blaring cacophony of organ rock. Perfect for a boss that is not just some demon, but the demon.

If it's supposed to be one of those sad fights you don't really want to have to do, I'd go with one of those slow sad piano/violin songs. Like this one:

Mine is obvious... well I'm a two level boss fight. I'm the Deimos Masque after all... first you have to break the mask off me so during the first part the epic music will be playing:

But then you break off my mask and my real form is revealed and this is played.

Just cause the characters are going to be questioning why they are even fighting me

or this as I'm inevitably hanging out on like floor 5 or something

This: (sorry for not knowing how to do yt embeds)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IB4wIYUCEA Intro from 0.20, boss shows up from 0.58, song plays up to 1.55 then 0.35 to 1.55 loops. when you get me to 1 or 2% HP, 1.57 to 2.04 loops until death.

The best part about this one is it wasn't meant to be dark or dramatic at all, it's a slowed down version of this:

Hmm, I always want heavy metal with my boss fights. The Witcher got it right - gently classical till you meet a boss then the heavy riffs kick in.

Not got a link or anything, but the album The Blackening by Machine Head is generally my pick for those situations.

Probably this. Without the baby crying at the start. Some dialogue would start during the intro, then once the song really 'starts', the fight would start.

Since I imagine I'd be a pretty crap boss fight, I would make no effort to seem scary:

I am pretty sure that my power would be chastising the enemy and telling them how what they like is crap.

Or alternatively, I could be "The Strawman", my power being using crap arguments.

Well if I think about my Boss form, I would probably be some kind of lightning angel.
I wouldn't be villain either, I would have probably gone crazy or I thought it was better to kill all the bad guys.

So why not Air on the G string?
Rock version of course, fully with hand movements.
I think it is great. :D

For some reason I could imagine dual guns and a long Katana facing off in Heaven with the soundtrack.

Gotta be this for me - calm start for the easy part/establishing the fight mechanics, then it picks up when it gets to the real stuff.

It's a tie between this: <youtube=jbXOyXaJJBc>

And Kenny Loggins' Danger Zone. When I was a kid I never really paid attention to Lance's theme but it's so "shit is going down" now.

Couple of options here...

or if it's a JRPG...

And then of course, if you don't mind vocals, there is only one choice:

The intro would be the dialogue between me and the hero, at 0:23 is when I'd throw my evil cape back and draw my weapon, initiating the fight.
For some reason, that made me think of this one, though it'd probably require about a minute of dialogue to start instead of twenty seconds.

Despite being Shishio's main theme, it's a bit too mellow - if you ask me - for a boss-theme in a game. A boss theme, again in my opinion, should be something that gets you so pumped up that you're ready to kick the next person that walks into your room right in the face. :p

Still, I love the Kenshin soundtrack, and that track is one of my favorites.

Not always. Boss music can be melodic, haunting, and beautiful as well. Depends on the context. For example:

I would be the final boss. the main villain. with more then one battle, in all of which (with the possible exception of the last one), I kick the hero's butt. I would be the shadowy presence in a tailored suit, always with a glass of scotch in hand (even while fighting). also the music would change in each bossfight:

introductory cutscene and bossfight:

major setpiece, me doing something incredibly evil and an ensuing bossfight:

final bossfight:
