Wind: Heavy metals for stability and debris impact, Alcmeize Debris to use against opponent maybe some explosives if they are using a tornado to protect themselves. Projectiles would be difficult so surviving would be easy, removing them would be hard.

Would we be able to produce it, or just use what's around us and amplify it? Because that's going to change my answer. If I can produce it, ground. If I pull it from the environment around me, water.
That sounds ass backward. You'll never NOT have the ground. But you can run out of water.
There's water in the human body and in the atmosphere most of the time. Sometimes, you might be indoors several floors above the ground and might not be able to directly control it, or get it to you in time to be effective in a fight.
Glass> Sand> dry dirt> dirt> Earth
Concrete> Mixed salts and minerals> Earth
Metals> refined minerals> rocks> Earth
Buildings provide ammo for Earth.

The amount of water in the air is generally only 50% saturation. Although that doesn't make the air half water. I don't know that it would be enough to make effective weapons. As a hero you probably shouldn't rip the water out of people to fight.
Because it would make them dead.

Add one more person to the well populated "electro !@#$% fascist state" if I may quote Yatzee's InFamous review.

Electricity jsut seems to have so many more options than most of the other elements. Although Ice might be a close second choice for me, since it's so cool. :p

People in this thread are overpowering everything. "Fire, I'll blow up errthing!" "Water, people are made of it, I's kill dem!" "Electrippy, I'll mak rael gun with it." "Durp, with element power godmode."

Limitations help define the powers a superhero has. Superman is basically perfect, but he's weak against Kryptonite and he's not a killer. He has to most to sleep knowing that every second he wastes is a second spent not saving someone. The more powerful someone is, the less relatable they are. Cole MacGrath is powerful, but his amazing powers are limited to electrical recharge from the environment. Prince Zuko is an excellent fighter who applies focus more than power into fire bending. The same could be said with the other elemental powers in Avatar. They are amazing, but limited to a bender's strength, focus, intelligence, levelheadedness, or determination.

I'd pick ground. Kind of hard to throw fireballs at me when I've created a powerful earthquake and ripped a hole under you're feet that leads to the center of the Earth. Of course, I'd be pretty vulnerable against wind users cause they could fly, I guess.

Water cause I could just take control of the water that makes up 90% of your body make it not there anymore. Everyone else is looking how to beat each others powers. You need to beat the person behind the power.

Fire. If I had total mastery over fire, I'd be invincible. This is all based on the assumption that fire is a plasma (and you physics majors can be quiet. We're talking about superheroes here; I think I can fudge science a little bit). If it's a plasma, then it must be able to have other states of matter. If I could totally control fire, I'd be able to shift it from solid, to liquid, to gas, to plasma, and back again. I could form anything if I practiced long enough. Plus, I'd be able to fly (see: Human Torch). And who wouldn't want to be able to fly?
