This
Awesome. Simply awesome.

I don't think I could pick any one theme to invade/battle with, so I'll give you a select few of the tracks from my "combat mix tape"

First I would slap him, open palmed, for speaking like that.
Yeah, sorry about that. I could just see some guy like that though wanting some music for a fight.

Ugh you know what.

I actually did this. I was in the marines when we invaded Iraq in March 2003. I drove over the border and we brought alomng a boom box and had a number of CD's with us.

I can't remember exactly the songs that were playing but I am pretty sure we played alot of AC/DC's Thunderstruck and Highway to Hell as well as System Of a Down cause they had some good tunes out around then. Also Eminem.

There was something very unreal about rolling into Iraq after they had lit all the oil fields on fire and everything around us was burning while listening to Highway to Hell.
I'd love to hear about that more, but I'm guessing now's not the time to pester you about that. However, this does remind me of the how allegedly after/during the invasion of Baghdad Lionel Ritchie's 'All Night Long' was being blasted through the city streets.

If a soldier on my side actually said "Yo man, we need to spice up this ***** with some jams, dog!", I'd defect.

Instantly.

OT: I'd go into battle playing Ravel's Bolero. What a build up!

Saria's. Fucking. Song.

It'd make the enemy stop fighting because it's so damn catchy. Of course, my guys would probably stop fighting too, but I'd be the one with the air force.

Its the end of the world as we know it

So perfectly awesome and appropriate and the slightest bit ironic

Pretty much any System of a Down song. Even their slower, more "emotional stuff" puts me into a fighting mood, even if its less of a "lets kick some ass" and more of a "bring it on, i dont fucking care about anything anymore" mood. Id still be set for fighting.

Several Guns N Roses songs too i guess.

Turisas. Viking metal. Some Manowar would also be good. They sing about brotherhood and all.

Envision this: you and whatever military you're a part of are about to go invade a country/enter battle. One of your mates turns to you and says "Yo man, we need to spice up this ***** with some jams, dog!" Reaching into your BDU jacket, you pull out a CD and hand it to him. He looks down at the CD and grins as he runs over to the nearest stereo/radio/vehicle with speakers and inserts the disk in. After a few seconds, the speakers crackle to life as you and your fellow soldiers move onward.

The question is, what is the song that is blasting over those speakers, pumping up your fellows and inserting dread into your enemies?

Me, I'd pick something composed by the master of epic composition Hans Zimmer, either this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA6zH7gKSr4

or maybe this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MR56UVKk-t0&feature=related

(I'd put the actual videos here but I still haven't figured that out because I'm a dee-dee-dee)
not bad choices. and to embed a youtube video i just learned is basically this

< youtube=asdfzqw>

the asdfzqw being the numbers/letters post = in the youtube url. basically delete everything before youtube and after youtube up until the = and put it in brackets

edit: i would totally play this

Mm, well I've already been ninja'd on Manowar, but the first track that occurred to me was a different one by them: Holy War.

But for something that hasn't been mentioned yet, for sheer awesomeness and how psyched it'd make you, I'd go with Queen's Don't Stop Me Now [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgzGwKwLmgM&ob] or We Will Rock You [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tJYN-eG1zk]

Edit: Thought that occurred to me just after hitting post. Dropkick Murphys - I'm Shipping Up To Boston. Yes, very much Yes.
