I forget the name of it, but there is a rail shooter at the arcade where you go around shooting robots with a machine gun.

I'd probably play black and white 1 or 2. Because nothing says badass like the wrath of an angry god. I enjoy inventing reasons that the villagers have angered me, and then punishing them in a variety of ways.

ether Splatterhouse 2010 or Gears of War 2 since I beat the whole campagin without dying on hard.

And maybe even Bioshock as I attempt the 'beat the hardest diffcultie without dying' achievement.

There are two possibilities for me.
1. Fable. At the end of the game, I have so much life, mana, strenght and speed that no one can stop me. I cut through a horde of enemies, like their just figures made out of carton. Or destroy them with Divine Fury.
2. DMC. Do I really have to elaborate that? That game is basically made to feel like a bad ass since the protagonist feels and behaves like a bad ass as well(especially DMC 3).

If I want to feel like a badass I play "Mass effect 2" because:

You KNOW you are a badass when you can safely melee a "KROGAN" to death with your bare hands!!

Usually Resistance 2 or Red Faction: Guerrilla (The feeling of smashing everything to pieces with a sledgehammer... Yeah, it feels pretty damn good.) Either of the Max Payne games also work, mainly due to them being able to was super-awesome gun battles in slo-mo AND tell a dark, interesting story at the same time.
Also Metro 2033, mainly because the gunplay feels so intense, like you are really handing an actual weapon.

The Warriors for ps2. I did a count of how many cops and gang members I beat to death for a single level and it came out into the hundreds...

Then of course there's Doom, the original one man army FPS, and a game that plays so fast it makes most current gen titles look like they're running in slow motion.
CHALLENGER APPROACHES

Yeah... that game plays out way faster than Doom. Especially in Instagib or something.
But yeah, that's my choice.

I was gonna say Bayonetta, but so many others beat me to it. :p Ratchet and Clank has always been fun for me, too. ESPECIALLY when you can run around, zapping everyone and turning them to harmless (for you) cuddly animals that explode when enemies get too close.

Streets Of Rage 2 if you're feeling like a retro experience. Failing that, try Halo on Heroic. Doable, yet tough, and you feel like a badass for tearing through wave after wave of covenant super soldiers. In fact, shoot-em-ups in general feel like that.

Assassins creed 1 and 2 do it well too. Nothing like tearing through your tenth army of guards in a supposedly stealth-based game.

I don't do it often since I beat it, but I love putting in Arkham Asylum and playing the stages on hard. It's so much fun, and c'mon, it's Batman! Joker is fun too, but still, BATMAN!
