I was building a castle over a pit of lava about 50x50 (My computer could barely run but I loved it.) but my hard drive broke and I kinda didn't back up my data. I don't play minecraft anymore...

OT: I just finished my inter-continental underground canal, now I'm trying to finish my giant fortress. I've recently been mining out of a quarry to fill up a few chests with cobblestone, so soon I can go on a marathon of building.
My minecraft project is cave with a door. Yep. It will be a nice cave as it will have a stove and a crafting table. Yeah.
Anyway, to actually be serious, me and my girlfriend have built sort of a castle palace thingy suspended between cliffs - I want to expand on that and make the all the mountain around us completely habitable - and it will look really cool with windows here and there sticking out of the mountain, and then I'll be working on developing villages around our palace thingy so we can truly call it our kingdom
.We also found a huge snow biome with a massive ice lake, we're going to turn that into an ice palace and that will be our snow outpost.
We've also found a woodland biome with spectacular terrain features... quite a few floating islands and mushroom-shaped mountains - we built a cottage on one of the more isolated tiny floating islands.
We're also thinking of constructing a tower of Mordor right at the starting spawn-point so as to freak out any visitors and newcomers to our server
just making random castles now, but I got the idea a few months back to try one day to make a recreation of the entire world of legend of zelda: spirit tracks, but I'm just to damn lazy.

My current project is a city to go with my epic floating castle. The castle, and the island it's floating on, and the lake underneath it, are all built completely from scratch. The walls around the castle are pretty awesome in themselves, and I've begun the port area of the city. I know where I'm going to build the 'upper-class' portion and 'lower-class' portion, and where I'm going to throw the merchants and everything. It'll take a while, but it'll be awesome once completed.

I once made a bridge in the sky, with lava flowing down on both sides, and all kinds of housing facilities inside the bridge. Looked sweet.

I have currently been working on an epic castle built into an insane looking mountain (the mountain kinda looks like the monster at the end of the Evolution movie) I found a monster spawner really close to ground level so I dug down to it and built a gladiatorial arena around it. Now I'm building a castle off of the arena.
However, just while I was writing this comment, I got a sudden extreme urge to build Helms Deep. So I'm probably gonna put the castle on hold and start this now.

Building a 200x200 block stone castle with a series of underground caverns to get me across the land...
I currently have some of the underground caverns, the base of the castle, and one of the 6x6x20 towers in the corner set up. Then I got bored and started building a mountain next to it out of recycled dirt.
Then I randomly found a portal which I didn't make, flipped out, and have been too busy exploring the nether with my piddly steel and stone pickaxes to work on my traditional middle-ages style castle that was going to be built as close to one of the ones used to hold off northern vikings and the like as possible. (using lava traps instead of boiling oil traps and the like since there isn't boiling oil traps to use)

My goal was the make the ultimate hobbit hole since I am short and my last name has hill in it.
Course the top part is mostly wool and glass, but I do have a dungeon like floor with large room, giant waterfall, and second floor of the room of floating platforms with stair cases and the occasional high ceilings to allow me to jump from platform to platform. My main problem is that creepers and other monsters spawn in it so I had to block off m housing level from it :/
I also am working on a bunch of little battle huts in an on hills that I hide in from monsters, and have all connected with a underground room full of wool floors and glass ceilings. It's so bright in there the monsters leave me alone.
I'm also working on getting as many wolves as I can. I have fourth nine and only use two so far because they were retards and drowned in the waterfall.

ok wanted something that hadn't been done before so i did water elevators when you place a block of water between two coloums on any story of your hosue it will immediatly drop down and make a huge puddle at the bottom of your valley(or where ever you made your house) so you jumo hold jump and clim all the way up also watch out you can drown but it is awesome and unique

Only roughly about 1/4th of the way completed thus far. LONG way left to go.
I'm trying to build a bunch of small tolkeinesque villages and have only gotten as far 2. As always when I get enough colored whole and bricks, I'll build THE WALL and a dark side of the moon prism, maybe the beatles green apple logo too eventually. If i get the weapon mod I'll make a "toffee mallet" room. so much needs to be built.
