Getting PTSD and my leg blown off aren't fun.

So I'll go with the charming, suave assassin who has sex with government secretaries after I kill their president.

Trust me, this is an essential role for ANY war.

FRONT LINE INFANTRY!
OK, THIS made me lol. Well played sir!

Also, seeing as how I would likely be gunned down, and can't stand the sight of blood (so medic's out the window), definitely a deserter. There's no other way I'm gonna survive, and I can be quite sneaky and good at laying low/hiding.

Deserter.

Or anything that has to do with helping people instead of murdering them in cold blood. Preferably not those soldiers that end up using their regained ability to murder.

Random death body number 1242315 always attracted me.
But knowing my luck, I will be random death body number 65976.

If we're playing the realism card, the main role I'd want (sniper) is a no hoper seeing as I can barely seen my keyboard without my glasses. This in mind, I'd have to go for a Company Chaplin. After airsofting and paintballing, I know I'm reactive to movement but I'm a hell of a lot better at emotional support than gunning others down.

I'd be a peasant. "Milord? Right-o..." ... ... ... "Job's done!"
nicely done my peasant!

id be the guy they would put in the factories to step up the production about 10.000% cause EVERYONE needs guns suddenly, and the Netherlands doesnt make enough to give a gun to all 16 milion of us XD.

I would want to be a tank commander, a fighter pilot, a ship captain, or tactitian. Something to keep me away from the fighting.

Astronaut to repair and maintain our orbital missile systems. Hope there aren't any EMP attacks...
Except that since there are naturally occuring EMP's in space, most satllites are EMP-proof.

Since I'm already undergoing education/training to become a medic, I guess that's pretty much what I would want to be....

Veterinary corps. I'll be making sure the animals used in the war effort are in good condition...If not, general infantry or medics corps

Depends on if its a war I believe in.(WW2 for example, not WW1, WW1 would have me desert and therefore executed due to the stupidity of the officers.)

If it is sign me up for some front-line role, probably as an infantrymen seeing as how they will be in short supply looking at everyone else choice.

I would like to be in the air force though, both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time.

However chances are its not a war I believe in and therefore I will take the honoured role of deserter.

Yeah, I'd fuck right off to the nearest "Canada" equivalent. I think war is beyond stupid and I refuse to kill people because my government tells me I should. Nor do I want to die for said government.

Less serious answer: Sniper I guess. Or an SCV. I am a geologist, after all. I can entertain my commander with interesting discussions about the crystallographic properties of minerals.

For me, either Medic. I think it would feel amazing to preserve life in a time of death and destruction.
Did you consider the screaming, guts, blood, urine and feces that come with the job? Along with facing death more often than most actual soldiers (or rather, facing it up close) :S
Yea, I do realise this, but compared to everyone else that isn't medic, i think im saving more than anyone.
Well you've got the "pure" saves, the ones that don't take a life to save someone, aye. But how many people you actually save depends on the situation.

An engineer/pilot can take out a tank that's about to turn your squad into a wallpaper and save all your lives doing it. A sniper can cover your team doing the same and an assault soldier with better reflexes/training can do it too to a point, suppressive fire has a habit of keeping the enemy at bay to give others more time.

You can argue it's not technically saving, but when a medic saves someone (IRL), they're usually not left 100% (some, I'd say even most damage requiring a medic on the battlefield is permanent), when your squad mates take out an enemy before he even attacks, you're entirely unharmed.
