When it comes to youtube what disheartens you from a channel? I personally hate it when at the end of a video it tells you to like or subscribe. If I liked the video I would like it. >:U

So what about you? I'd add a poll but I assume there's too many pet peeves out there.

(and i searched this and went through countless pages and couldn't find this topic, if you can, I feel like an idiot)

EDIT: I'd also like to mention that I ENJOY rick rolls >.>

simple, I hate reading the jack off replies and comments. If aliens were judging whether we as a species were worthy of our existence based off the youtube responses, we would be completely screwed.

I believe this gentleman has stumbled upon the heart of the matter. I'm not going to consciously subscribe to a channel I don't like just for the purpose of increasing the uploader's vanity-index.

One practice that kind of irritates me is YouTubers referring to people by the names of their channel. If you did it in a professional context it would just sound stupid...

I laughed when I saw the thread title. 'Youtube etiquette'? That's a good oxymoron right there.

Since you can put annotations that link to other things on your video I've seen a few times where people just put a giant clear annotation covering the whole video which is pretty annoying when you go to pause a video by clicking it and you end up getting linked to a confirm subscription page.

I mean asking people to subscribe/favourite is one thing, but trying to "trap" them into subscribing is another.

Channels that ask you to like/fave/subscribe are ones that I almost instantly lose interest in. Another gigantic turn off is bright yellow thumbnails or all caps titles (done not for the sake of irony).

Basically any channel that doesn't really give half a crap what they upload so long as it makes them money, I would rather watch youtubers who make video because they enjoy it, and because they are proud of what they have made.

People asking for subscriptions.

And also people in the comments trying to whore thumbs up or making lame-ass "funny" comments. Press 9 for masturbating, lol. Press 5 for rape, lol. Press 4 to hear him say homo, lol. that's all I see on some videos. It annoys the crap out of me.

I hate when you have to fight through all the damn pop up windows they put in their video saying crap like "make sure to thumbs up below." etc. I know you can close them but sometimes they pop up so damn randomly when they shouldn't or there's no need for them, and other times there's just so damn many of them. I also hate the people who reply with videos that have nothing to do with a response at the video or anything.

In every video there is always someone who comments "X people didn't *insert video title here*"

Where X is the number of people who disliked the video.

People who do this deserve to be shot.

Anything that involves someone talking into a camera with cuts all over the place. If you aren't good enough to talk for more than 5 seconds at a time, don't vlog.

Any vlog that involves women exploiting their bodies for views (Lisa Foiles, Hannah Minx etc).

Beat me to the punch. At least there is legitimacy with "Microsoft Works".

Another thing that is annoying is when a good part of the comments are simple parrotings of what was said in the video. Really makes them look like dorks.

Youtube memes, pretty much.

For some reason, it just pisses me off when someone posts "Hey guys, thumbs up if ____" and then gets a couple hundred thumbs up. Also the "dislike" meme. You know the one, and how beaten to death it is.

Why the hell do I even read Youtube comments when they always piss me off?

And you too, double ninja!

Seriously, Youtube etiquette is just like Santa. A disturbingly mass of people believe it exists yet all studies prove it doesn't. The worst fanbase will roam Youtube just to say that a video is great or terrible for years. They never let go and will haunt videos just to tell everyone who likes it how it's terrible. Especially on game trailers. They will come up and tell you how it's the worst game ever and that it ruined the series forever.
My advice is to not read comments at all.

1.Leaving a comment saying you dislike something and get 20 replies along the lines of "your gay/love twilight/ like Justin bebier/ ect. ".

2. Comments that quote the video.
3. like/dislike/thumbs up whores.
4. Justin bebier/ Rebecca black reference's on unrelated video's

I could go on but my fingers are tired and my grammar is crap

Youtube etiquette? Personally I think the site's community is so intermingled with massive troll armies that any etiquette has long since been abandoned. Racism battles over dog/kitty videos are prevalent and grammar is awful. I just go there for music/funny stuff now.

[sub]A ton of aforementioned trolls post rant vlog videos too >.<[/sub]

I hated seeing those comments that were spammed across every video such as the Justin Bieber January 1st ultimate dislike thing as well as the youtube 'riot'.
