I'm subscribed to a lot of youtube gaming channels. I actually prefer the smaller ones than the ones with 10s or 100s of thousand subs. It is a lot easier to interact in the comments and get to know them than if they have an outlandish number of subs. Wonder if you guys can recommend some.

I don't subscribe to a lot of gaming channels, but I can recommend both Mat & Pat's channel at thesw1tcher and Yahtze has his own channel, where he has recently been uploading some lets plays for old adventure games.

Let's Plays are.....mostly garbage. It's hard to find someone with a funny and interesting personality over the sea of Tobuscus clones. Or people who like to scream really loud like Pewdiepie or Uberhaxornova (I don't like Toby or Pew, Nova while mostly annoying has an occasional moment of hilarity). Any channel that strives for nothing more than Let's Plays EP 12937829173819273819 is pretty much not worth it. The best gaming sites do multiple types of videos, or at least try to IMPROVE their shitty Let's Plays. I don't think you can start a youtube channel under the notion of "hey me and my friendsidekick are going to play a game! were the new Yogscast!", you have to try something new and fresh.

I mainly just stick to TGS channels when it comes to games. HuskyStarcraft, TB, OMFGcata

Or the new Game Grumps with Jontron and Egoraptor. That shit is HILARIOUS. Actually any Normalboots.com member (The Completionist, Jontron, Peanutbuttergamer).

Or Dunkey, that man knows how to make a brain draining video. He's pretty much the pinnacle.

Yes I just mentioned my own channel, but it meets your requirements.
I specialize in Handicap Playthroughs (Dark Souls SL1, Resident Evil 4 Handgun Only PRO, etc), and upload once a day.
You will love it, if you don't mind the quality of the imagery.

My pain in those video's will be your infinite enjoyement.

Mostly just people from TGS. While I'm sure Machinima has some people I'd find entertaining, most of it I've watched seems to be aimed towards a target demographic who... erm... to put it nicely, they'd find fart jokes funny and probably weren't alive during the first half of the 1990's. Othert han that, it's mostly just people who I find interesting to listen to, and generally just have them on in the second monitor to listen to mre than to watch, so it's more of a podcast than a gameplay commentary.

TGS is the best. I don't think I dislike a single channel on there.
The main ones I watch are totalbiscuit, OMFGcata, yogscast, huskystarcraft and the normal boots guys.
What I like about TGS more than machinima is that they actually seem to put more work into their videos. Everyone there apart from maybe husky has great production value. The work they put in is insane, and even though IDK how much husky edits in comparison to the others, he still works hard on it.

Now that WoWcrendor swapped to TGS, I don't like anyone from machinima :/

I hate how toby releases like 3 very short videos a day with not much work in them. It's an obvious attempt to get as much money as possible. It's a bit insulting.
I just don't find uberhaxornova funny, at all. Bah.

The one machinima channel I have respect for is PewDiePie. I don't watch his stuff, but he has longer, high quality videos and doesn't so much jump on bandwagons, as he creates them.

Compare that to the work that say, peanut butter gamer or jontron put in their vids?
No question. Plus most machinima channels are generic lets plays or CoD commentary's. I barely ever like lets plays, OMFGCata is the exception, and I prefer the non lets play stuff that the yogscast do.

If I had to recommend a smaller channel, I'd say the AuZZieGamer. That guy is funny as all shit, and like most of the other channels I like, the work he does is great. He's absolutely hilarious, and just came back from a long hiatus.

I think TGS set the standard pretty darn well for good content. I've seen so many "hey check out my channel" type comments only to be met with another mediocre Let's Play channel. There isn't any quality control, because people try to emulate other channels by just putting out more and more and more content......and not good content either. If you don't try and do something different, there is no need for me to watch one Let's Play over the other 1000000000 that exist.

That's why I love people like The Completionist. He spends his entire week playing games just for one video every 1-2 weeks. And its interesting stuff that nobody else really does either.

Toby is pretty fucking genius if you think about it. He's pretty much the RWJ of Let's Plays, and he's making a ton of money off it (I can only imagine with the views he gets). He knows how to work the system and get idiots to watch his stuff. His forced speech impediment really bothers me though.

Hey guys, check out my channel if you want something brutally honest. I don't pretend to be objective - these are my personal experiences and opinions on the games I review/showcase.

I think I can come off a little naive, but it's a fresh look at games both old and new.

Seriously, I don't expect to become the next biggest thing; but I love making the videos. There is a bunch of videos I have ready to launch, including some competitions but I'm testing the water with these videos first, trying to see if the format is right, what people think of them.

I'm thinking of doing a few give away's in starting September, but I'm just creating more content before I do so.

I'm not subbed to anyone, since I didn't want my youtube turned into a google account. But I check Robbaz, TB, OMFGcata and Angry Joe, plus some smaller LPers I like. If wowcrendor did anything I gave a shit about I'd watch him all the time too.

While people are here talking about them, does anyone know what TGS actually does? Their website is just a sign up sheet, and their channel doesn't really advertize people. I don't get it.
