Anyone notice that youtube sneakily "replaced" the original video? Like in the original it said "report negative content" but now it says "report inappropriate videos accurately"

So this is gonna get me hate, but I signed up to be part of it. But please hear me out. I've seen full films on Youtube not, spam comments (click here for $500 a day sitting in your house). This is the stuff I WILL flag. Plus I'm thinking if I can contact YouTube in case if someone goes on another copyright binge like Daddy Derek or Tommy Wiseau. Sort of like an inside man. Be a good example of what a YTH should be.

Are the pitchforks and torches down yet?
That's perfectly fine to be honest. I assume people's concern, including my own, would be a Digital Homicide situation of if someone criticises your content, you flag the reviewer. You are genuine, that's great. Others may go insane with power.
Oh I know they will. That realization was exactly why I signed up. I wanna be one of the guys other YTers can feel safe around. Plus as I said, YT them self can use my actions and go "this is how a YTH is supposed to operate."
The issue comes when you can act as someone for youtube to point at and say "the system is working fine look at this guy". It's a horrible, exploitable system and should not be legitimized or accepted. It's well within your right to do so but if I were going to access it, even with good intentions, I know myself, and I would get dragged into a flame war in less than a week.

This is just a blatant example of Google being cheap, and being PM.

A lot of people have. For an Internet company they don't quite seem to realise the Internet never forgets. It can only be distracted and right now this will not be one of those things people just let go.

I for one have great trust in the judgement and general goodwill of your average Youtube commentor.
I know right! And youtube disabling comments on their video of YT Heroes is good proof of how very 'not' ironic this whole endeavor is gonna turn out to be :p

I see what they're trying to get at with the idea, but having it so that any person and his dog can freely sign up (if I'm not mistaken?) is certainly gonna result in this backfiring massively in some - if not all - aspects.

Hats off to those who are gonna sign up to genuinely help and especially add closed captions to videos though, that's a lot of dedication and work and I appreciate that.

I demand quotation marks around the word 'brilliant', on the grounds that nobody should be allowed to take it literally.

That is, by the by, my opinion on the whole idea.
