Agreed, most of the updates were awful, but we got used to them (beta channel) but now with the removal of star ratings, thats when Youtube wen't to shit.
I've grown tired of watching a video on Youtube and seeing "14 people missed the like button"
Super Seconded.
On a slightly-related note, why did Youtube change the whole damn rating system?

Hands up if anyone else read "Youtube has cancer" and immediately thought this was about people who post there.
*Raises hand*
I thought it was about all the false-flaging done by religious nutjobs.

On topic: I hate it. It is really, REALLY annoying to be unable to turn it off, permanetly.

Youtube's had cancer since they changed to the new crappy format.

Actually, Youtube's had cancer since they allowed commenting.

EDIT: And Unskippable Advertisements, and WMG anti-sound Nazism, and all the other complaints
This. Just this.

(Here's a bunch of random useless text so that the low-content rule doesn't bite me in the ass).

it's not that we can't switch it off, it's just that the bar raises itself up even if your cursor isn't that close to it. you can be just barely past halfway down the screen (maybe to check out the vid description) and BLOOOP it pops up and gr

but whatever, just delete the second "&" and that's enough to show my disapproval lol

The issue: It takes up unnessiary room and just is an annoyance and somewhat inconvient I don't see the issue

P.S. Sorry for the really bad pun/joke.
This^ had it's color changed to make it legible. I don't see what you wrote. Oh...well, that was a bad pun. Just testing to learn how to do colors. Hey, it worked! Shouldn't it have been color=white, not color=snow?

Personally im hating the unskippable advertisements at the moment.

Admittedly it is all forgiven considering I can now play snake [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vORYG-601H4] while watching a video.

If you hate it so much, why don't you just turn it off?
Read the fucking topic! You can't turn it off!
this picture pretty much explains it...

theres an on off switch clearly marked by op.
Yeah, and if you read the topic, you'd know that you essentially can't turn it off, it turns itself back on again.

The answer for the question "why does YouTube do x" is obvious if you look at the parent company. Some years ago Google bought YouTube. Google sells advertising; this is how they make their profit.

As advertising comes up that's apparently relevant to every video, the best way to show more ads (and thus make more money) is to show more videos. Thus, they create an autoplay feature that queues up videos automatically.

They may wrap it up in PR speak as "finding videos you might like to see" but really it's about getting those ads to you.

Luckily there's a lot of ways to kill the behavior. Tubestop is one, an add-on for Firefox, and there's Greasemonkey scripts for same.

I don't know if someone has already said this, but that bar only appears on videos recommended to you by Youtube, and videos from users you've subsrcribed to. To answer your question, yes it is annoying, howeve I can live with it.

Honestly, Youtube started being shit since google really.

The main problem is, There's not many other video hosting sites that are half decent, And you also dont have to pay for, and the fact that if you post videos on youtube, you'll get alot more views them if you posted it on a random video hosting site.

But really, Who the fuck really uses this bar? it's useless, You can just look to the right or look at the videos once the vid is finished, I see no reason for this rubish.

Do people seriously not like the new channel format? How does that even work? It's far more streamlined and useful than the old channel format, allows for easy scrolling through videos/favorites without having to scroll down past the video itself, and doesn't look like shit to boot!

I'll agree that the autoplay bar at the bottom of subscribed videos is annoying, but really? People still hate the new format?

What really pisses me off on youtube is how hidden away the user history is. It's just about the only button on my profile I ever need to press, yet it's tucked away behind multiple mouse clicks instead of being right there at the start like it should be.

Honestly there was one stage where I thought it had been removed completely.

Or fix the already existing problems. I like the new channel design they introduced, but I've heard that links to videos mysteriously, vanish. As in the video is still actually on the server and exists, there's just no link TO it that can be seen.
Besides that, it's really jarring the way it just pops out of the bottom like some annoying brat going "LOOK AT ME!".
