Has anyone else seen these comments in the past month or so?:

LISTIN UP EVERYONE VERY IMPORTANT The rock nation will be attacking Justin Biebers BABY video on September 1st onward ...Remember to dislike, put a comment and flag on the baby vid on sep 1. We need your help to destroy this modern autotune music that has ruled the world.Copy paste this comment on every good music video such as: Metallica, Dio, AC/DC, led zep, the doors, Beatles,Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, hendrix Guns n' Roses, etc. Thumbs up 2 this plan
I've also seen this about the "Metal Militia" as well.
Looks like they can't even spell either.

What does everyone think of people and actions like this? Although I completely relate with the hate and the message that true talented music needs to be recognized instead of that prick Bieber this kind of behavior just makes the rock and metal fans seem even more immature and demeaning. Anyone agree?

More attention for Justin = Justin wins.

That goes for both the YouTube action and this very thread. I swear Escapist forum users are being paid by Justin's record company to make threads about every little move he makes. Many users on here wouldn't even know who he was if it wasn't for the constant Justin threads.

I saw one of those...I doubt it will happen, though. I also agree with you, it paints us rock fans as looking like petty trolls.

I say leave that shit on 4chan

People who post such things on Youtube don't have the brainpower to do anything significant on any website.
If they do, then run. Just run.

EDIT: I forgot one of the most important lessons in life.

So, 4chan did it on July 4th, and now everyone else wants to do it on Sept 1.

Amusing as it was, copying 4chan is kinda sad. And it'll be about as effective as their attack was, more thank likely less so.

This isn't about him it's about all the haters and their actions.

Oh come on, everyone knows about him by now so additional threads aren't exactly increasing his popularity. This thread is just about observing people's dumb actions against someone they hate yet for no rational reason.

Sounds like this initiative misses the point even more than the movie Pearl Harbor did.

Does this honestly even surprise you anymore? Seriously. There are people out there that don't listen to my music, and they simply do not listen to it.

If you don't like him, then simply drop it man, seriously. Why bash him? Why attack him? There is no point to all this. Just don't listen to him and don't pay attention to what he does...

Yes they are. Threads here come up in Google searches. Every time you, or someone else, makes a thread relating in any way to Justin Bieber, they are increasing his internet presence, and giving him free advertising and publicity. Advertising and publicity works, it reminds people of the product, increases the profile of the artist and translates directly into record sales - and guess what, negative publicity does this just as effectively as positive publicity. Trust me, I work in the industry and I see hard figures on shit like this. The Escapist gives Justin Bieber the kind of golden publicity that money just can't buy.

That is an incredibly scary thought.

But meh; hopefully he'll suffer a recording 'accident', and snuff it. Then no-more of these whining comments will show up; we know everyone but pubescent teen girls hate him, so why bother saying you do as well?
Well actually I don't. To be honest I don't mind his stuff, it's listenable enough. Probably not something I'd go out and buy, but I've never been able to work out why he gets so much hatred. All I can figure is because he's a young kid, other young kids are jealous.

Na, I don't mean you personally; I was just using 'you' because it was easier.

Whilst I dislike his music, I also dislike the people who think hating on him is the new cool thing.
Okay, point taken.

Hating on any artist is always lame. If you don't like something, ignoring it is always the best option.
