Tracked down everything going wrong with my life to a party back when I was 16, or something, so I would go back and tell myself not to go there.

I'm confused. So I get to use this time machine to go back to any point in my childhood, give my younger self some advice, and then I have to come back here?

Probably something along the lines of "Kiss her, you idiot".

Go back when I was 16 and tell myself (after convincing myself that I am actually Alex from the future) to join the military immediately after High School instead of going through College. I'll definitely be thanking myself later.

No, you have the magical power to change anything about your life.
You don't need to give advice. You can snap your fingers and make something un-happen.

I'd probably tell my mum to divorce my dad earlier and get her to invest money into Google.

Stop myself from breaking both my arms.
Still getting surgery on that stuff and it was the trauma that caused my body to start breaking down.
If I could stop that I might be living a normal life right now.

Probably nothing, too many unforeseeable variables to go screwing around with my past.

Time travel is impossible. You can't travel through a social construct.
According to certain philosophers who felt the need to unnecessarily complicate matters they did and do not understand. Seriously, these people seem to think they can postulate about everything from their study and have it match up with reality. The results more often than not sound more like an acid trip than truth.

Personally, I'll stick to the working definition mostly held by physicists and other scientists whose business is the nature of the universe. Since time must exist as an independent aspect of reality in order for multiple proven theories to be accurate, the notion of time as an illusion holds no water.

Does that mean travel through time is possible? not necessarily, but its a fun topic to discuss nonetheless.

I'd go back to middle school and teach myself all of knowledge I've learned about organizing, school work, and dealing with ADHD. Also, I tell myself to invest more energy in learning a foreign language.

I'd go back and show my 16 year old self a really good time, I was a little reserved when I was younger but I'm sure I could convince myself to have some fun with...myself. I'd give me some pro-tips that would hopefully allow some things to run smoother for him than when I did them. Then I'd just spend the rest of my time hanging out in the past and bangin my friend's moms, LOL, that'd show em.

I would go to, say... 2009. Then, I would go on as many internet forums as I possibly can and say "In the future, there will be a TV show called "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic". It will gain a massive following of men age 18-35, and it will actually be quite good. It will spawn some of the best and worst things in the internet. This shall be your last warning before this maybe-apocalyptic, maybe-beautiful event occurs." Then, I would count how many times someone says something along the lines of "fucking troll", and play the waiting game.

Hmmm... I wouldn't really change anything. I mean I've made plenty of mistakes in my life, but they all turned out ok in the end, so I don't really feel like fucking with them. It would be kind of cool to go back to 1999 and play old school Everquest, again though.

Oh wait, I thought of something. I would change my choice of M.A. program so that I would end up with a degree that will allow me to get a job in the US that pays more than working at McDonald's. I'd have to go through high school and college again though... ug, never mind. I'm pretty glad to be done with school right now. So... yeah. I guess I wouldn't use the time machine at all.

Destroy the time machine. Too many god damn paradoxes. Not to mention that the world is a chaotic system and my actions would have unpredictable consequences.

But the time machine is paradox-free by virtue of the for-the-sake-of-the-scenario genie.

Doesn't stop chaos theory from making any action I take be a roll of the dice.

No, technically not.
That's the job of the chaos theory pixies.

Well, if I can't get rich or alter other worldly events, then I would simply give my 16 year-old self a new Pokemon Red version that I recently purchased a few months back and tell him, "Have fun!" and be on my way. He wouldn't know who I was and I would know that I would have completed Pokemon Red a handful of times by the time I returned to my own time.

Owait it's back in time only. Whoopsies.

Erm, I guess I'd go back and spend more time with my friends in seventh grade. They were all awesome and none of them came back to school the next year.
