I get a battleship??? Cool beans!

First thing I'm gonna do is burn off all that ammo, because how often do you get to fire a cannon? After that, cruise service. Take people out for a ride on a genuine battleship, charge them $500 a head, and no step 3, just profit.

You mean a naval battleship or a space battleship. Either way I going to name my Adventura.

I'd name mine the ASS Pounder. Then, I'll get a whole fleet of them. ASS Pounder, Rammer, Ravager, you get the idea.

My name is Alex, so it works. XD

At least that what my friends and I joked that I should name them in the event I ever had my own navy.

Stop ruining all the fun with talking about how obsolete they are. I'd call mine Big Stick, and everyone on board would have to wear slippers.

Slippers? Now theres a rule I could fully 'get on board' with. (Get it? I'm working on my nautical puns for when my battleship comes)

U.S.S. Marvin's Revenge, for what should be obvious reasons.

And then I'd blow up the moon... somehow.

I always named my Megathron in EVE Online The Olympiad so I guess I'd go with that (I say 'always' because I was up to The Olympiad III by the time I left the game. It was never technically destroyed, but I put the number up one every time I did a complete refit as it was essentially a new ship).

Ironically if it was actually a space ship I'd call it Severance, for various reasons that I'm not going to say.

I'd declare mine the SS Pirate Smasher, and well, with a name like that, I'd have to prove it could live up to it, by smashing pirates, near Somalia.

"Self-Destruct for Insurance Scam" if its a space battleship. Or, if I'm not allowed to commit EVE insurance fraud, then SS Ultimate Ship II.

As in the old game Battleships, wherein two players both have a grid of squares in which they place, concealed from their opponent, a fleet of naval vessels. You inform your opponent, turn by turn, which square on the grid you are directing your fleet's firepower to - B5 for example. Your opponent has to advise you if you hit or miss. The objective being to find and destroy the opposing fleet's battleship.

I'd go with the World Eater thing and name it the "BLOOD AND MURDER YOU NAME THE BLOODY THING".

Correct. USS Missouri is also a museum ship, while USS Wisconsin is being planned as a museum ship as well. However, USS Iowa could still be refitted within at most 120 days as part of the National Defense Reserve Fleet [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Defense_Reserve_Fleet].

Sudden thought: the RN still has the oldest commissioned warship in the world.
And so I wonder: what would happen if we tried to refit HMS Victory?

It's rather amusing that the British Admirals of the Fleet still hoist their colours on the Victory first before the actual flagship of the RN.

Now that I think on it, that's pretty fast (re Iowa) considering just how much needs to be done to bring it to combat worthiness (granted not that many 16in shells would be needed). Still, the whole class were sweeeeeeeet.

Battleship?! Battleship?! How antiquated can you get, Mr Pizza?! Navies only really operate aircraft carriers, submarines, multi-task destroyers and missile cruisers in this day and age. =P
Yep... even the Royal Navy got rid of them in the 60s... this was the last one http://www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/vanguard.htm ... cruise missiles and the like have really changed the game.

But whatever. I'd call it the Yamaha 2, just to send autistic otaku into spasms over how I'd "got it wrong".
The US used the Iowa class Battleships until 1992

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa_class_battleship

With a good anti missile defense system the ships are still pretty powerful. If I had one I would plant it off the coast of Somalia.
