Why I'm awesome: Because I'm the Void Dragon, and anyone who manages to annoy me will feel the wrath of my untold hordes of necrons, also I can simply manipulate the technology of anyone who attacks me so that it turns on its users.
My bodyguard would be Something of my own creation. I'd create a being who was totally loyal to me, and could not waver for any reason. His power? He can teleport matter and energy at will. Doesn't matter how much, or how little, how far, or how close. If it exists, he can send it anywhere he pleases, even to other dimensions. This basically makes me untouchable, because I'd just have him make a bubble around me that sends stuff to a buffer zone where I can decide where it goes after that. I could also just give myself those powers, but what would be the fun in that?

Bodyguards: Private army, built from the SAS/ Spetsnaz/ Israeli Commandos with my two main bodyguards being my Armies Commander and some Russian Badass who was handpicked.

Bodyguard: My Top Hat.
I would offer said Top Hat to rebel leaders and naturally, struck by its beauty, they would take it home. The next day the leader would find out that many of his people were killed in the middle of the night and he himself was covered in blood and surrounded by bloody swords. Everyone would of course blame him for the deaths and he would be thrown in prison. Then I come alone and ell them that I can protect them and kept them feed. Fearing for their lives they accept my offer and the rebellion is crushed. The Top Hat has done it job. It has protected me from a rebellion that could have potentially overthrown me.
I am awesome because of my Top Hat.

bodyguards are a large group of assassins who can melt into shadows and use all kinds of weaponry. we're the best because i never even notice my life is in danger, since it's only for a split second before the assailant is killed and disposed of, quietly. i appear unkillable, since i never have to hide from my enemies, thus making them realize attempting to kill me is a waste of time.

I would choose to have a selection of subtlety-screened bodyguards chosen from the families of my enemies. I would ensure they were treated well, and would rotate them often. Hopefully, the prospect of possibly killing a member of the rebels own family would offset any assassination attempts.
