I hate when people say this. It's ignorant.

You know, sometimes guys can dislike good looking actors simply because they are bad actors.

Lots of us admire Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jnr, even old Leo for thier acting.
It's not ignorant, it's shallow. I am aware that he cannot act, but I do not care because he is attractive.

But I will never forgive him for the monstrosity that was HSM. Whhhyyy? D=

You know who I admire for their acting? Steve Buscemi. That guy is awesome. He was absolutely perfect in Fargo but he's not the most attractive guy in the world. Basically, I contradict myself a lot

I haven't seen him in any respectable movies to know how his acting skill is. Probably not that good, though.

Zac Effron starring in ANYTHING is bad enough.
Let alone it being a real movie..
I disagree, if he pulls this off, I might actually have a tiny amount of respect for him. The reason I hate him is because he sold his soul to Disney, which basically means insta-fame to the majority of teenage girls. It's the easy way of being an actor, instead of starting from small but respectable movies, you leap straight into the light. It all feels too fake for me to like him. If he makes this work, my opinion of him may change.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Discuss?

Okay fine (this one isn't worth doing fancy formats for though). Zac Efron has signed on to Headline Pictures to star in a yet to be titled thriller movie. The release is unknown (as expected, the title hasn't been finalised yet). Do you think he's capable of branching out successfully into non-musical movies, is this something you would like to see? Or will he wither and die? (in an acting sense of course) Thoughts?
While that is absolutely hilarious in every way, shape and form, I think I'm the only person who remembers that he once was in an episode of CSI, and pulled off his character pretty well.

That being said, he ALWAYS looks like he's about to cry, and his character in CSI was a kid who lost his mother I think, so he fit the bill quite nicely.

I think their pulling some sort of Shia Laboeuf trick with him. Im guessing their going to revive some old cartoon series and have him star it. OR just cram him down our throat with tons of movies liek they did with Shia.

Well to be honest, Mark Wahlberg always looks like he's about to cry, but look at The Departed, he was great in that, hell there wasn't a bad actor at all in that film.

Kill me now before I see Zach Efron in a real movie.

No, I'm serious, KILL ME!

Unless he sings while...um....shooting(?) people, then he's worthless.
He's worthless anyway.

Meh, Hairspray was decent. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a serious, non-singing role.

Just because I'm not of fan of that insipid High School Musical doesn't mean I have to loathe every actor attached to it.
Well said. And Hairspray was worth it to see John Travolta playing a woman and dancing with Christopher Walken.

Believe me, I want nothing more than for him to succeed. But I believe you said it better then I ever could: "It all feels too fake."
And if he does pull it off, then hey, I might not dislike him as much as an actor.

Eh, the way I see it, Disney just pays the bills. Getting a job as an actor is tough. There's a lot of people looking for work and there are few people hiring. If Disney's willing to make you a star and you're eating mac and cheese with a side of ramen noodles, you take the job. It's not "selling your soul" any more than any other job.

There are worse things you could do than star in insipid tween prolefeed.

It's not like the head of Walt Disney cackles as you sign the contract in your own blood.

I just felt a great disturbance in the world, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror.

Serious, Zac Effron will be forgotten in a few years, this is someone bred from Disney.
NooooooOOOOOOOooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo

XD

seriously, first Zac steal the thunder of Matthew Perry (i think) in that other film, now he's in some "edgy thriller"
its not fair maaaaaaan, can we get an actor who wasnt made famous through the powerful yet dark claws of Disney?

if your eating mac and cheese with a side of ramen noodles, you obviously need to cut back on your eating expenses o_O
