I dunno if I've been ninja'd or anything, but in Alien Hominid when you put No-Gore mode on, when you slit peoples throats or shoot then flowers come out :D

Team Fortress 2 has an option for people to bleed balloons and explode into random toys, including a rubber duck, instead of exploding into a pile of gibs.

Studio 51 did it with the PAL edition of No More Heroes. when enemies are sliced to shit, instead of spurting blood they spurt a mysterious black fluid. I didn't even notice until someone pointed it out in a review, so it must have been effective.
Supposedly the PAL territories actually got two releases of No More Heroes. One with blood, one without.

The one without blood exists because Japanese censorship laws don't allow it.
So, basically, there's gore for America, None for Japan where it's not allowed, and in this case, Both for Europe, where nobody cares either way by the sounds of it. XD.

No Team Fortress 2 and its option to bleed balloons?
And presents and other party favors. It's pretty hilarious I agree.

Alternatively, you could cover it with MORE GORE.

I always loved how in Alien Hominid when you violently ripped the nipples off of a secret agent and you had gore turned off it'd just have a bunch of flowers. Funniest is when you send an Agent or enemy through a shredder and instead of blood you get a pile of flowers with the sunglasses on top.

I prefer seeing what I call the "Tony Hawk treatment". Back in the days with just the Pro Skater series, there was an option to turn blood ALL the way off (never did that), or enter a special button code which enabled an option to replace the blood...with several happy faces. So, if you shredded your face on the pavement, you gave the world more smiles than you took off. Sure, it wasn't that funny if it was at the end of a big combo, but it was still worth a chuckle or two.

the German TF2 has the characters explode into black crude oil and nuts and bolts.

Which I think is brilliant.
