Problem is if they released it on other platforms you wouldn't need to buy their latest console every 2-3 weeks.
I take issue with the accuracy of that statement. This may be true with Apple, but let's take a look at Nintendo's hardware history:

NES: 1985-1991
Game Boy: 1989-1998
SNES: 1991-1996
Nintendo 64: 1996-2001
Game Boy Color: 1998-2001
GameCube: 2001-2006
Game Boy Advance: 2001-2005
Nintendo DS: 2005-2011
Wii: 2006-2012

So all of them have been pretty far apart in release, except for the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance. I'm not a fanboy, I'm just sayin.
You're right, you aren't a fanboy, purely because you missed a few;

Colour TV game:? 1977
Colour TV game 15:? 1978
Colour TV game racing:? 1978
Colour TV game ?Block Breaker?:-1979
Computer TV game:? 1980
*Game and Watch Silver:? 1980
*Game and Watch Gold:? 1981
*Game and Watch Multiscreen:? 1982 ? 89
*Game and Watch New Wide Screen:? 1982 - 91
*Game and Watch Tabletop:? 1983 ? 91
*Game and Watch Panorama:? 1983 ? 1984
NES/Famicon:? 1983
C1 NES TV:? 1983
*Game and Watch Super Colour:- 1984
Famicom Disk System:? 1986
*Game and Watch Crystal Screen:- 1986
Twin famicom:? 1986
Game Boy:- 1989
SNES:? 1990
SF-1 SNES TV:- 1990
NES-101 (NES 2):? 1993
Super GameBoy:? 1994
Stella View:? 1995
Virtual Boy:- 1995
Game Boy Pocket:- 1996
N64:- 1996
SNES 101:? 1997
Game Boy Light:? 1998
Game Boy Colour:- 1998
Nintendo Mini Classics:- 1998
N64DD:? 1999
Game Boy Advanced:- 2001
Gamecube:? 2001
Pokemon Mini:- 2001
Panasonic Q:- 2001
Gameboy Player:- 2003
Gameboy Advanced SP:- 2003
iQue Player:? 2003
Nintendo DS:- 2004
Gameboy Advanced Micro:? 2005
Nintendo DS Lite:- 2006
Wii:? 2006
Nintendo DSi:? 2008
Nintendo DSi XL:- 2009
Nintendo 3DS:- 2011
Wii U:? 2012?

* remembering each Game and Watch only held 1 game. So every "game" purchase was a seperate console.

The list has the consoles release date with the exceptions of the game and watches because they released new games (ergo new consoles) between the dates specified. So that's 45 consoles in 35 years. NOT counting all the 'different' Game and watches (which there were many of)

I think the expression you're looking for is, "damn."

If Nintendo sold there games on other consoles, no one would buy Nintendo consoles.

Though I can see where your coming from, Imagine a Zelda or Metroid game on PS3/360/PC, Heck a Pokemon game would be perfect.

You are missing multiple consoles from that list, regardless of the fact they are remakes of an existing model, they were still made, still marketed and still expected to be bought by consumers. Hell, I'm certain this does not even complete the list.

Game Boy Pocket 96
Game Boy Advance SP 03
Game Boy Micro 04 or 05?
and then...
Ds Lite 06
Dsi 08
Dsi XL 09
3D2 2011

Just sayin..
but most of those you don't have to buy to still play the games.
