Wind Waker is the best Zelda game I've played (even better than OoT).

The style has aged well and the seafaring atmosphere is brilliant.
This. The artistic style is unique and looks great, even by today's standards. I also liked Wind Waker more than the N64 releases, still playing it and haven't yet beaten it. The aesthetic is wonderful and the soundtrack is my favorite of any Zelda game, mainly because it redoes older tunes. The sound effects are also oddly pleasing to me.

Whatever you do DO NOT GIVE GAMESTOP YOUR GAME. If you must give it away, give it to someone who will either care for it or, someone who will give you actual paper-money for it.

Worth it just for this song.

The best variation on the Zelda theme ever. Wind Waker breaks the mold of the series the most I feel, which is probably why I like it so much. It is also a rather sombre game despite its visual style.

I wholeheartedly recommend a playthrough. I've never been that interested in Zelda games, but I absolutely adore The Wind Waker. Its cel shaded visuals have aged very well, there's a palpable sense of discovery and exploration, the dungeons are very well designed, the soundtrack is absolutely superb and I found the story to be more complex and engaging than your typical Zelda title.

I'll admit that the game isn't perfect. I absolutely despised the forced stealth segment near the beginning, sailing can be monotonous at times and boss battles are often too easy, but when taken as a whole it's easily one of the best Gamecube titles, if not one of the best games made in the past ten years.

With the exception of the part where you have to find the triforce pieces, this is a great game. Play it, NOW!

If you trade it in you will be missing out on my personal favourite Zelda game. The game world is beautiful, the only problem is that the pacing drags a bit during the "fetch quest" section.

I would strongly recommend that you do not trade it in, you'll be hooked if you do play it I can guarantee.

So, I got rid of most of my gamecube collection.
WHY?

I have Wind Waker for gamecube and have had it for years without playing it.
Again, WHY?

You sir, are in need of some serious help. First off, you should start re-acquiring those Gamecube games, mostly because the Gamecube was amazing. Secondly, go play Wind Waker right now! It's by far one of the best and most underrated Zelda games ever made, and if not for its short length and insanely boring sailing, it would be a perfect game. Of course, by now you should have stopped reading and started playing Wind Waker. If not, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR SOLDIER? GO, GO, GO!
I had come to the realization I was never going to get around to playing/finishing some of the lesser cube games I had collected, so, might was well sell them while Gamestop was willing to pay for them. In the case of Mario Sunshine, I kept thinking I just wasn't giving it a chance. I tried it again and asked myself, what the heck? I am not having fun: I hate these controls! I know and understand what I'm supposed to do, I just hate it! I bought it for $10 used years ago, sold it for $8 last year. I don't miss it.

Zelda has always meant more to me than Mario. I have the collection that came with the Cube (missing ONLY SNES Link to the past for console releases!! WHY IS IT MISSING THAT ONE!?!?. And Wind Waker and Princess on Wii. (I don't much care for the Wii controls).

With limited time, I got sucked into the 360 most this gen, but kids seldom let me in family room, so, in my office, I have a game class PC and a cube. From what you all are writing, Zelda Wind Waker is worth a go around.

I've just started. Caught a black pig for a guy. He didnt' give me anything for it. Oh well.

Wind Waker has the awesomest version of Ganondorf of any game in the series. That's reason enough to play it.

Also, fighting Darknuts and Moblins and stealing their weapons is a lot of fun.

Yes you must play that game! Sure it's not perfect (the sailing part) but for the most parts it's a good and enjoyable game. Also I love the art style and the cel shade graphic to that game unlike some people.

I got to check Ganondorf on youtube. Thanks!

Didn't watch the whole thing to avoid spoilers, but, he does look pretty terrific

I liked Sunshine, thought it was loads better than Galaxy.

The reason Link to the Past wasn't included was because they had already ported it to the GameBoy Advance, and wanted people to buy that one. At least, I'm assuming that's the reasoning behind it. After all, Link to the Past is, in my opinion, the best Zelda game ever made(so far).

I'd advise getting Twilight Princess for the Gamecube if you can, it's got much better controls and Link is actually left-handed.

Wind waker is not the best Zelda game(best looking mabye), why? Too much sailing to much tine down the drain doing nothing but sailing.

Now with that said is it worth playing, yes but mind you sailing becomes tedious rather quickly and the last level is a headache.

I'm sad now... I don't have a gamecube or a Wii and can't replay the only Zelda game I ever got to play from start to finish. I dabbled in all the rest, but never beat one having never owned a Nintendo console.

Is it a Legend of Zelda game?, is it not for the CD-I?

Then is worth playing period.

I hear good things about it from others but in my opinion the game was rather bland and easy. What really got me was the massive amounts of travel time and the ridiculous treasure-hunting part that will take up more than half of the time you spend with this otherwise short game.

By all means. Play this game!

Whenever you set out to sea, this song comes on, one of the most awesome in the entire series of Zelda games:

Only real issue I would have with Wind Waker is you are probably going to give up about 2/3 of the way through the game if you have patience problems...

Fantastic game though if you don't

Well, the sailing can get a bit monotonous, but it's punctuated by enough Islands and sea based encounters to keep things interesting.

Other than that It's exactly what you would expect of this franchise. As well, it has a quirky nature that brought something new to the series.

In short: yes

I'll have to depart from most of the opinions and say "not really."

Aside from the art style, which never appealed to me, the game is quite monotonous. Plus, the liberties it takes with the Zelda storyline are kind of crap. All in all, I was disappointed.
