I saw "Zeno Clash" as an upcoming game on Steam and whilst at first I wasn't interested, after watching the videos, I'm impressed by what they show me.

* A bright, colourful, and somewhat bizzare environment, better than the dirt-brown 'realism' of most games these days.

* Novel looking enemies - from humans in pottery helmets and ritual-looking outfits, to half man/half animal creatures, to huge garife like creatures with combat birds to help it.

* Interesting looking melee combat with some primitive guns too.

Anywho, what do people think? Good or bad? And will it actually succeed?

EDIT: Ok, embedded the videos now so you don't have to flick to YouTube.

It's original: it actually has some innovation over most big games released nowadays.

Looks like the Mirror's edge melee system, but more arm. It looks awesome!
True, now you mention it, although the empathise is on combat (more melee than ranged, but with both), so I'm thinking it'll work alot better than Mirrors Edge - of course, depends on the amount of content too.

Exactly! THe style sort of reminds me of the insane and hilarous world of "Armed and Dangerous", but it definitely does its own thing, not just pump out US Space Marine #10234, or generic Japanese under 13 Androgy #5435 in gritty 'realistic' (Although their isn't that much dirt in the world) environment #345 or shiny samauri land #254

It looks awful to me, only redeeming quality is the Dr. Seuss tribal savanna look. The combat looks at lot like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, but I wouldn't recommend playing that either.

I find the art style very appealing. However, I'll hold off on purchasing until I get a chance to try it out, because it looks like the combat may be pretty repetetive. I hope I'm wrong though.
