Wow... 22 comments and not a single person talking about the Heath Ledger reference?

I'm honestly shocked.
I for one was incredibly offended and request he go back and mutilate his review to appease my outrage.

Nah just kidding

/OP AC4 had me from "open world + pirates & looting", I could give two fucks about the story. I'll be sure to pick it up eventually.

As much as I loved the naval aspect in AC3 and am looking forward to it in AC:BF, I feel that if they do another game after this with sailing in it they will have worn out the gameplay mechanic. This review seems positive enough for Yahtzee that I expect I will enjoy the game on PC.

I felt the review was quite positive! AC:Bf is a heck of a lot better than AC3 and a lot more fun. And more colourful. Edward Kenway is so much better than Connor, he actually has some personality and I love it that he comes from Swansea!

I have to admit though I do spend most of the time on the ship, so end up doing more pirating than assassinating. The naval combat is one of the best things in this game.

The amount of defending of Yahtzee for spoiling the ending to AC3 is kind of appalling. It would have been easy enough to avoid and it *was* pretty thoughtless for those of us who may still be working through the series but still wants to watch his weekly reviews.

Who cares how important it is to the overall story. A major spoiler is a major spoiler and shouldn't just be mentioned offhandedly a year after the game was released.
It has long been my policy not to watch ZP reviews of games I intend to play but have not done so yet, or their sequels.

It's a policy I recommend you adopt as well. You'd think this would be common sense.

the tailing missions are horrible, but then again I've always hated them since the previous AC games. Black Flag I felt did a better job at allowing you to tail folk but it's still not fun x.x

that being said the sailing missions and free roam is amazing loll
I'm hoping AC will eventually do something real good with the whole Assassin Order and stuff again, but I can't help but enjoy the heck out of the pirating haha

Those bloody tailing missions, i swear every story mission started with a tailing prod. In fact i am even stuck on a particular one right now. Fuck you tails! And yes i mean that friend of sonic too, with his whiny, high maintenance bullshit!
Gimme that stapler!
Tails I can deal with. just please answer me this: Are there any escort quests?
I do not remember any such quests. So thats alright :)
THANK GOD. I've been playing a bunch of games lately with excessive escort quests, aggravating me to the point of turning off the game outright. "You need to keep this guy alive, but he's going to run blindly headfirst into a minefield/zombie horde/hot lava/etc..."

If I were a designer I'd fire anyone who offered one as an idea, and if I were a reviewer each game presenting me one would be docked multiple points on the spot.
I hate to be that guy but 1 of the first quests you get is an escort mission where the escort does exactly that. I also ran into a boat protection mission that by the time I arrived the ship that needed protecting was already at 1/2 health (but it was a side mission).

Very funny joke to end on Yahtzee, though the problem is its not a joke, its very much true. I fear Arkham is going down the same route and will soon be long past being stale.

What i personally liked about AC 3 was the fact that the templars were more'I was trying to do good and you ruined it' instead of 'curses you foiled my plans to make a childlabour factory that produces whipping belts made from living kittens'.

The templars became more morally understandable in a end justifies the means way, instead of being worse than james bond level villains.
