Are those freaky WWI scenes back in it? I loved them parts, much like the parts in Arkham Asylum with the Scarecrow.

Haha I like how they're only 83 comments right now because he was positive on the game. Usually all his negative reviews get more than 200 comments easily.

I love the game, agree that it's basically a love story that involves crazy supernatural elements and brutal violence.

I thought the mafia side was done well, especially with the mansion ambush and
Aunt Sara
.
Being forced to make a choice between which of the mafia needed to be killed, and the effect their death has on the other person
was a nice touch. Making them likeable (and hilarious) I guess is "romantic" but it gave a much-needed change of tone from the overly dark cult dealings and Jackie's mental shenanigans.

Politics ay? I find it helpful to imagine looking at those things from an alien perspective, because then you can just say to yourself "-Wow I'm glad I don't live on that planet!". Problem solved ;).

Anyhow I'm very pleased that you decided to join our cult! Meetings are on Tuesday and the entry fee is 10000$ cash but we also accept cake as payment. Bring lots of lube, a goat and a copy of Atlas Shrugged. We will provide all necessary mining equipment so you don't have to worry about that. Also don't forget the secret codeword is "hello", without it we don't know if we grab the right person. HAIL LUNOS!
I came to the revelation that politics are no longer about leadership, but envy and spite.

And I'm sorry, but I was just taken in by Unitology. Convergence is at hand, you know. Altman be praised.

Seems like a well designed game, although a little short. I think im gonna give it a try. Might as well get the first one while im at it. Make it a double feature.

That takes me back a long while.

When the Darkness came out, I was so taken in by it, I bought the game despite having no PS3 to run it. So far, I've only played a couple of hours worth, on whatever machine I can hijack from a friend.

I'd love to get this game for PC, just to make up for it. Shame I now need to buy a better pc to run it.

I'd love to play as Doctor Octopus.

I forgot what I was going to say before that comment played in the credits.
You have a point there. The Darkness may have the best engine to allow a game about Doc. Oc.

Aside from that, there was a fair amount of substance to this review. Perhaps it was to make up for the problems he had with the first game. I had to agree with the review on the first one, though. I had a hard time escaping when at least 2 different attempts were blocked because they didn't fit with how the developers solved the problem. Nice to know this one is a bit better about that, but I don't like the video style of the other games it was mentioned to look like. I think I will wait a bit and see if it looks like its a better choice than some of the other games coming out.

OT, but since Yahtzee brought it up again I feel it's worth mentioning: he was greatly unfair to Monster Hunter.
I agree, the game completely went over his head.

I must commend the game for its gameplay and most certainly the story. The "dream/memory" sequence in the carnival with Jenny was especially touching in a way that I wasn't expecting to be at all...
