The new wall paper tearing bit was a better way of illustrating the point than the wall paper in the Borderlands videos, I'll give this video that.

Though I'm somewhat disappointed that there was no reference to Viscera Cleanup Detail when mentioning that you are the janitor.

Hadn't heard about this game before, and will probably forget about it an hour later.... We're in a really dry period when it comes to game releases, aren't we?

yugioh joke would of worked better if you used a fusion monster card and not a pokemon card in the review but that's just me. Though I'm more into cardfight!! vanguard now.

Funny, I just got done playing the game for a few hours this morning and also decided it was boring. The game was installed for a whole 3 hours.

Heh. "Bored Yahtzee" sounds like a game you make up when you have a Yahtzee set with only two dice and all the score cards filled in.

As for the game, I saw the Giant Bomb Quick Look. Did not look like a game I would enjoy. Ah well, thankfully Destiny came out.

Throws lightning bolt at opponent.

Does having a red/green magic deck make me a battle mage?

I now have the urge to voice the colons like Yahtzee does when placing an order for a game or for making an inquiry. Seriously, I hope this sudden urge by games developers, publishers and marketers to plaster colons on gaming titles goes away sometime soon.

Dont know why it is called Lichdom: Battlemages?
Meybe there are liches in it :p ?
Well if one goes by the more archaic definition of "Lich", that is: an inanimate, lifeless rott(ing/ed) corpse that shows no signs of life but many signs of being dead and not moving; then there certainly must be more than a few liches amoungst the enemy ranks that the protagonist has created.

In other news. I get it: Crafting, vegimite. Cause Kraft makes Vegimite?

Never heard of Arthas the Lichking?
And i think i saw it some of the older rpg and action games as zombie-wizard or ghost-wizard.

Yahtzee sure is one stickler for grammar; spelling out each individual letter in S.T.A.L.K.E.R., saying the underscore in WATCH_DOGS, and now the coughing up colons! So hard to hold my laughter there!
Wait, "colon." There's at least one really good ass or poop joke there, I just know it!

Maybe to make sure we dont confuse it with Battle Mages

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was with dots and not just STALKER due to copyright...

And then you people wonder why gaming budgets are so inflated... it is the marketing.
Holy crap, that game looks WAY more badass than the one Yahtzee just suffered through!
One thing I don't get about marketing for video games is why less and less of their commercials show any gameplay footage.

No, it makes you an Ewok. Stupid furry forest goblins...

OT: More mixed reviews, but at least the game managed to do something interesting, even if it didn't do it particularly well. I guess I'll just have to play more Magicka if I want unlimited wizarding power and elemental combinations.

Okay, seriously, are there really no big titles being released soon?

8 weeks since the last one.

Oh well, Destiny is coming and The Sims 4 has been released, so some big title will probably be reviewed next week.

Yahtzee, ya really should take an episode to look at the game that has the best title, in your opinion. Honestly, if someone found a game called Swank McSpunkodile, I'm sure it would be interesting.

This sounds like the much worse version of a game I would really love to play.

I've long felt that games like D&D and Skyrim tend to fall short in their depictions of the difference between wizards and warriors. To me, a warrior is the type able to leap into the fray from the get-go, steadily becoming more powerful with experience and new equipment but sticking to the same basic "stick 'em with the pointy end" style of conflict resolution. Meanwhile a wizard should be the type to invest in a more long-term approach to gaining power, risking early vulnerability for a shot at exponentially greater power with a wider variety of applications. D&D has pacing problems, while Skyrim is totally built for warriors.

A game that really shows off how much fun wizardry can be is a fantastic concept, but it sounds like this game got buried in complexity that drained resources from other important aspects like story and gameplay. Here's hoping that this inspires other developers to do it better.
