Yahtzee slagging on the new consoles is getting to be as tedious as when Moviebob would crowbar an attack on The Amazing Spider-Man into every video regardless of how ill-fitting it was. Especially since the 7th console generation was among the darkest times in the history of video games and we should all be celebrating the fact that it's finally over.
You celebrate when it gets lighter, not when the darkness does a palette swap, switching obsidian for onyx.

Okay,

1: I know Yahtzee has a really huge grudge against COD for destroying console gaming, but he's shown it for almost every video since E3 2013. It's starting to get annoying, no matter how topical it still manages to be.

2: Why does Ghost Trick sound dumb? Sure it's weird grammar, but it sounds catchy, especially with how underrated the game is. Though frankly I'm just surprised he's heard of it at all, being a portable Nintendo title.

It seems strange that Yahtzee has never mentioned Ace Attorney/Ghost Trick/Professor Layton before. This games sound like the onew he might find not total garbage =)

I'm sorry, and correct me if I'm wrong, but all I'm getting out of this is one question: is Yahtzee married?

he's either married too Silent Hill 2 or Saint's Row 2... not sure about an actual women though, it's doesn't say he's married on his wiki page
If Let's Drown Out is to be believed, he's single.

And he's married to Saints Row 2 only when I'm finished with it *shifty eyes*.

I didn?t even know this game existed til I saw this video, despite its flaws I might one day give it a shot, if only because I generally like murder mystery games.
Wait, I'm confused. Do you mean Murdered: SS, or Ghost Trick? Because I highly recommend Ghost Trick.
I?m talking about murdered, I already played ghost trick and I agree it?s awesome, I'm just curious what yathzee?s issue with ghost trick's title is.

I'm sorry; was someone saying something disparaging about fellows in Fedoras and vests?
And I thought your hat was a Trilby, not a Fedora...

I'm surprised he didn't drew any lines with Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for the DS. Unless I missed something. Great episode nonentheless.
He definitely mentioned it in the beginning of the video, to compare it to Murdered: Soul Suspect as "Game with Dead Protagonist investigating their own death and a silly title".
I knew it flew right over my head. Well thanks for clearing that tidbit.

I was hoping Yahtzee would make a point to acknowledge the fact that he and the main character essentially have the same wardrobe. Wasn't disappointed.

Also, a thousand extra points for the Dresden Files reference.

I didn't get the Dresden Files reference, but I'm currently on "Turn Coat". Is this ghost solving his own murder something that happens later or is my memory of the past books piss poor?
It's in Ghost Story, two books from where you are now. Saying anything else would be giving away some major spoilers.

It's kinda funny that Yahtzee would turn around a joke about a fedora on himself considering he has adamently pointed repeatedly through the years that he wears a Trilby and not a Fedora (he even said we should learn the difference in his Tex Murphy review) :p

I laughed though. Never even heard of this game until now and planning on making this review the only thing I hear from it. Good shit as per usual from Yahtz.

Dresden files was mentioned!

That's all that matters.

I wonder if he's actually a fan of it...

Urggh, I know. While I don't share your views on the last console generation, I still agree that he needs to get over the new ones. It's even worse if you listen to his Let's Drown Out videos, where he frequently suggests he wants the new generation to fail (fat chance), the console industry to crash, and that that will somehow make everything better.

The worst part is that so many of his complaints are just half-assed, like he wants to bag them out on principle but can't think of anything valid to criticise them for. I get that the lack of backwards-compatibility is a big issue, but at the end of the day it's just an inconvenience that will become less important as more games come out. I mean, "no backwards compatibility, therefore old games will stop existing and everyone will forget previous gaming history?" What? Is that seriously what he's trying to say? That makes no sense.

I didn't even realize this was a AAA game; based on the footage I saw, it felt more like one of those smaller-budget games. You know, the ones that have the backing of a publisher but not one of the big-name ones, so it manages to look like something made within the last five years but only because all the environments recycle the same 20 textures or so, and costs $30-40 at launch.

On the general subject, though, I did see an amusing comment on a let's-play video: "Wow Luigi's Mansion looks great in HD"

That vest n hat joke got a genuine gut-laugh out of me. Well done, Mr. Croshaw.
Same here. Yahtzee, you do know you don't need to point out your own hypocrisy, right? You've got an Internet forum for that.

Regarding the game, it looked pretty but after this review and a few others calling it all sparkle and no substance, I'll let this one fade away. Maybe Airtight Games can find a way to send the clown back to the sewers and produce something more substantial.

It does not make sense, but then, it's also not what he's saying. He's saying that the game is unpolished, which he theorizes is the case because developers spent time and money that could have gone toward that polish on instead learning how to code the game to interact with current generation consoles. He seems to believe this is so because he detects a pattern of these kinds of mistakes of development being more prevalent during the early years of a new console's existence.
