Tembo just continues Sega's tradition of slow animals going far too fast to remain controllable. Except this time they couldn't just call him "Tembo the Elephant" because the name "Tembo" isn't as immediately badass in the minds of 6 year olds as "Shadow" so they had to spell it out...

You should try the so-called ranked matches if you are looking for a challenge.
They're just as stupid but it is a challenge not to laugh at them for trying and failing (probably because they're 9).
Unless they are on your team. In which case it's a challenge not sigh heavily. Then cry. Then die.

..

Ooh, cat!!

Some say it was a 2008 game Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars that inspired this or is the predecessor.

I say we all pull out our N64s and copies of Excite Bike64 and have ourselves a good old fashioned round of Dirt Bike soccer. The earliest form of motorized players and a giant ball that I know of.

Seriously, just google Excite Bike64 Soccer.

Well, wouldn't you know it! Just like Caddicarus on Youtube regarding Transistor and James from Extra Credits on Youtube regarding Tower of Guns, Yahtzee mentions a game that has just left the PlayStation Plus freebie selection. Granted, such games deserve to be suggested since their developers took that not-immediately-profitable plunge, although they're not great for those who aren't big fans of their genres.

Wow, that game looks like everything I dreaded that Rocket League would be, but it luckily isn't.

Tembo may be a badass, but is that elephant a pro at Rocket League?

Other than that, I hate when I'm playing a game that I [really] like and my mind starts saying the phrase "Bored now!" to my [other] subconscious... It makes going back to replay/continue to play said game harder than it needs to be overall...

Some say? I thought it was well known that it's a direct sequel with a snappier name.

That football (which is what it is) joke near the start brings back shockingly accurate memories of my school days. Some nights I still feel my fingers crack open and turn purple at the thought of it.

I always appreciate Yahtzee's phrases and well thought out criticisms, every video he makes is a pieces of art work, and by judging the sheer number of videos he has made by comparison to most famous artists he's been working his blocks off since 2007.

There's an even older one, Bumper Car Soccer [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrAhtpKSZNM] in Team Fortress, and that was only last year. It's really, really weird to me how the media had such obvious points of reference but didn't reference them at all.

I enjoyed this. I admired the effort he must have put into thinking up the banker and Thailand bit and I liked the part about "drawing a cat wrong."

Oops, I just could have quoted this instead.

Did Yahtzee slip in a Japanese porn game reference right there at the end?
Well, I guess we know what he'll be playing come the next games drought.

Ah, the indie twofer returns. It is a little startling to see SEGA try to get away with publishing an "indie" title, unless they're just going with "download only" games.

This happened to the Alone in the Dark Illumination one too. I didn't see it until it was posted on the youtube channel. Since then I make a note to check both Yahtzee and ZP's tags
