Just began my first playthrough as a thief. Game really hits the nail on the gags and atmosphere of the show and there's a fukcton of references to the series(which might make some jokes less funny, since you've heard them before, but that's just a little nitpick).
In fact i don't remember when i've "wasted" entire afternoon on playing some recently released title.
Although i have to admit that the difficulty is kinda low; I'm right at THE Dramatic Moral Choice of the Game part and so far only one fight was a real challenge(yep, Al Gore). Same thing applies to replayability - i plan to powergame it as a you-know-which-class after my first playthrough, and that's about it.

I actually really liked this game. Its very solid and funny, if short and a little flat at some points. But I loved playing it and will probably replay it the not too distant future
Perhaps, Next Sunday A.D. ? XD

But yes, solid little Game, Excellent Episode of South Park. Nothing revolutionary, other than actually being a PERFECT representation of it's source material, which is all I wanted.
Agreed. If you go in wanting the quintessential South Park game, THIS is the game for you. I remember the first time I farted on Butters and I heard the disembodied Cartman laugh...SO God-damned funny. If you don't want a South Park game, why would you buy this? If you DO want a South Park game, money well spent.

P.S. MST3K reference?

I enjoy the show and the game was just as good. More like a huge playable version of the show. I played through it twice both times it was great. I never felt bored, though i did skip a few of the cutscenes the 2nd time around.

If you are not a fan of the show, it makes sense that you wouldn't like the game.

Similar to Zero Punctuation, I would say that South Park is less about the shock humour than it used to be, but more about the potential applications of a more taboo form of humour than is generally done. Much like how Yahtzee reviews different games, keeping the jokes relevant and fresh while still having them be "shock humour", South Park reviews people, society and politics. And much like Yahtzee's reviews, they're rarely positive.
^That's the one big thing that keeps South Park off my shitlist.

Even if the jokes feel really tired and heavy handed, I can at least respect South Park in that they're both impartial about their target of satire, but still care enough to learn about it (the golden rule of comedy: nothing is sacred). It keeps the show elevated just above garbage like Seth MacFarlane's shows or most of Adult Swim.

But even then I cannot bring myself to watch more than an episode or two at a time. I've moved past the point in my life where repeated attempts at blunt force shock humor satisfy. One good out-of-nowhere gag is great, but a parade of them doesn't work for me.

You know Yahtzee, your show uses shock humour too but does that mean it's a one trick pony? The initial shockingness of SP wasn't the best thing about it - that was the stories, the characters, subtle observations about the western world. I personally think that's gone from the show now - the middle years were the best, and I don't know why and it seems neither do the creators. You can see this in the game - what exactly is the point of the endgame sequence? It's like they know they aren't as funny as they used to be and they think that edginess was what did it. The Lemmiwinks sequence in the show was good not because it was edgy, if it were then the endgame would be also be good instead of just silly and pointless.
