It took me a while to get he is not a real review my self because the 1st couple reviews where almost 1/1 with how the game is. After a while tho he just started being a troll reviewer and I got pissed because I was sad to see a good thing turn out this way.

I really hope that you mouth breathers know that if you don't have a PS3 Uncharted 2 is a reason to buy the system. I really feel like this does not even harp on the real bad things in the game. To be honest the game is a real 9.5 game and there is only 2 things that stop if from being a 10 and that is the fact that the 1st couple areas that are all about stealth are a bit wank to do( which is not even 40 mins of the game. compared to the rest of the game that is like 1% of the game or less.) And the fact that when you are doing some epic things and the action get really moving that sometimes there is something that will insta jib you if you dont watch where your standing. I.E. your in a building thats falling down and a chair hits you in the face, killing you when the action seems to be flowing really well.

Guys don't take what he says to heart. Sad thing is, I would place this way higher then Dragon Age. In my book Dragon Age, even though its a great game, is at best an 8. Simple fact is there are games that have done what Dragon Age is doing, but better.

Take from what I said what you will.

I can't understand all the negative reaction to this video. It's Yahtzee's opinion on the game, not really a definitive balanced review. It's a polemic, and it's an amusing polemic if you just relax and take it in the spirit of things. Also, I don't actually remember Yahtzee saying it's a bad game, just that it's unoriginal and borrows heavily from Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider, and that Nathan Drake is a horribly smug character who deserves to be tied to a fencepost and beaten with sticks, which even the most staunch admirers of the game have to grudgingly admit is true. Well, maybe not the second part...

None the less, the game is described in the review as balanced, compelling and cinematic, and not by any stretch of the imagination a bad game. Ergo, he thinks it's a good, if flawed game, and the review is quite funny. I'm not just saying this because I happen to agree with Yahtzee on this one, but because his opinion is just as valid as anyone else's, so stop attacking him over something he has every right to say.

Also, I don't care if the BBC never have another original programming idea ever. Doctor Who rocks, even if the Doctor himself has turned into an arrogant tosser...

But back to my point. Great review, and keep it up.

I think he's just lost it, he's trying to be funny but fails... it's a game for entertainment, when did Games have to be 60 hours long for replayabiliy (even RPGs i don't ever play again, Dragon Age i couldn't even manage 2 of the origin stories before falling asleep).

He moans about Sandboxed games, he bitches about MMO's, and then he complains about cinema games. The man should not be a gamer, he doesn't enjoy very much...

sounds like he needed his hand held all the way through the game. Which he's complained about before...

So he doesn't like his hand held, he doesn't like not having his hand held and he doesn't like Help pop ups after a time when he's stuck.

There is no pleasing this moron, i've been a huge fan and watched every single one of his reviews but... nah he's lost it, he's not funny... the fact his voice is fast is no longer that amusing.

And he isn't british no matter how many times he tries to hump the british flag during his reviews from doctor who and bbc references in this one to many others. Seriously check back, he's so much in love with britain, he should just make love to the queen and be done with it.

4/10 for this review.

I enjoyed Unchartered 2, especially the marco polo bit among others, and the fact you had decent multiplayer, unlockable stuff which was nice and got extra "bonus" cash to spend if you had completed the first game.

yahtzee you're done, there's the door.
how can you whine about the game being entertainment then be so critical of the content of the review, it was indeed entertaining as always. you should stick to watching reviews from companies funded by the game companies. if he went through and talked about all the good things about games like he does with the bad stuff how could that even be remotely funny? Maybe youre not american but we have a tradition of enjoying the failure of others and yahtzee points out the stuff that makes us happy.

Ahh the sweet, sweet tears of the bawwing fanboys makes enjoying the video all the more satisfying. Kudos to you Dice Game Man. For only you're special brand of vitriol brings this delicious treat once a week. And this week seems to be a very fine vintage indeed.

boring concepts.
I´m gonna guess that you're one of those people that take his reviews seriously.
I'm gonna guess that you're a PS3 owner?
What's with this prejudice? Are you going to accuse him of being a fanboy now?
no! =) I am acknowledging some level of heightened emotions (an observation really)
I own a PS3 anyway
but really I just found the comment on Yahtzee a bit unwarranted (I can almost agree with the arguments there, but it's all in how you say it)
I can sense those emotions too, and it's mostly because people are saying that they're passing up on a game based on a review from YAHTZEE! I know that Yahtzee is entitled to his opinions, but the only thing he did in the review was to pick on the bad things (I'm not complaining at him at all, it's his job and it's fun) but that makes everyone who hasn't played the game think it's flawed and starts to criticize it.

I don't hate Yahtzee, I love the man (almost in a gay way) but I hate some of his stupid fans that don't take the things he says with a grain of salt. It's like when he bashed Halo 3, now everyone loves to bash that game. I'm not saying this as a sony fanboy, but as an Uncharted 2 fanboy, because I loved that game.

Fanboy-spasm over. Sorry if I caused you any emotional distress ;)
well technically I was talking about emotions on the other side of things (oops) but no it's all good
there are those who love him and will follow his word to the bone
and those who hate him and will come on here to bash his reviews (mainly the ones where he bashes their favorite love life game)
lolll I'm primarily a 360 gamer (I use 'primarily' and 'gamer' almost hesitantly, I prefer to see myself as a determined student hehe, much better connotations outside of gaming forums in say, oh, the real social world), and I don't hate him for bashing say...Halo
he liked Gears and that was just funny (lol...w/e)
yeah I'm kinda tired, so I'm kinda rambling...sorry

hahaha oh no it's fine, I'm not one to judge where people put their time and devotion
cuz in the end we're all wasting our lives playing some form of video games-WAIT I MEAN we are all entitled to the pursuit of happiness
unless you live in like, Cuba
or Utah

Over the last year or two Yahtzee has solidified his place as one of my all-time heroes, but lately these reviews just haven't been as screamingly funny as they once were. The review of Uncharted 2 brought about an epiphany as to why: roughly 50% of all Yahtzee's game criticism boils down to the same tired point that, while perfectly valid, I have now heard over and over. That point is this: most games are inherently flawed because they were designed to pander to the fantasies of gamers, people who by definition have not let go of the self-centered 7-year old still burning at the core of their souls. We all want to be omnipotent bastards, taking and blowing up whatever we want, but we also want to be the "good guys" and have legions of peers and girls look up to us as heroes (have you every encountered a couple of little kids fighting and told one of them he was the "bad guy?" It's hilarious - and wrong). Yahtzee's description of Drake reminds me of his tirade agaist Laura Croft- a totally unlikable character portrayed as a hero even though all she does is to break stuff, steal stuff, and murder people trying to do exactly what she's doing. Thing is, I enjoyed the Croft review more because that was not the 100th time I've heard the same complaint.

Even so, I continue to take Yahtzee very seriously- and maybe that's because I think modern gaming sucks. I'm one of those original Game Boy types who finds most new games to be too easy, too repetitive, and basically too stupid. So hats off to this guy for turning me onto the one game of recent years I've actually really liked- and that's Saint's Row II.

Still not seeing much reason to buy a PS3...

Damn. You know, my friend told me it was a great game, all cinematic and adventurous and sandbox-y... I was just gonna wait for a little confirmation.

Well, it seems I've saved sixty dollars.
I take it this is ironic, because this isn't supposed to be a proper review. It did pretty well by his standards anyway, he almost sounded like he was giving it a recommendation.

i laughed like mad for the first Uncharted review. its probably one of my favorite reviews here despite the fact that i enjoyed the game. however for this one i didnt laugh once which is funny considering it was pretty much copy and pasted from the previous review.

yahtzee is losing his touch. his reviews teeter between mildly amusing and the antithesis of funny. at first i thought he was trying too hard. but after this review its become clear hes just not trying.

i dont care if yahtzee makes fun of Uncharted 2 (even though i strongly enjoy it). in fact thats half the reason i watch him. but if hes not going to make me laugh and hes not going to review the game, what IS he doing? is this just video wank hes sharing with us? is he just desperately trying to hold onto what little spotlight he has?

perhaps its just a creative slump and he will climb out of it. it doesnt look like it but i hope im wrong. yahtzees easlier stuff had me hooked. his show was better than anything on tv. his early reviews ooze with style, talent, humor and substance. sigh... id settle for just two of those at this point...

I dont think I've ever heard someone say so much without ever saying anything meaningful - maybe Yahtzee should go into politics...
he could team up with Hideo Kojima. they would be an unstoppable team.

Maybe *gasp* MW2?

I doubt it, good isn't funny.

No offence:
Besides being pretty MW2 is just another shooter Borderlands has it's very own style and dragon age is a very immersive fantasy rpg that is just different from most of the tolkienesque rpgs.
Kinda like The Witcher it has a more believable fantasy world one that isn't a world of good looking set pieces with cartboard cutouts for characters. (well The witcher had pretty stiff character animation in dialogue but as for the story it is just wonderful.)
I think the whole hype around MW2 is not deserved but maybe it's because I don't really like "realistic" shooters.
Well, he said he didn't do sequels and Mewtwo is no different than MW so there is no reason for him to do that.

Yeah, I liked Drake too. I'm not sure what Yahtzee's ideal is for the perfect protagonist. If he values realism as the most important factor, then the whole game would be Drake panicking and going into a fetal position from all the gun fights.
the obvious solution being to find a protagonist who would not feasibly collapse into a pile of whipped cream with a cry-cry face.

in more seriousness, realism is more an appeal to include characters who aren't obvious rehashes of archetypes older than VHS. it's pretty much a given that the player character in anything other than a survival horror game will have amazing mental fortitude, but for everything else, you can at least endeavour to make the rest of the character interesting.

that said, I'm fairly sure all the anti-Drake sentiment in the videos is more a reflection on Yahtzee's opinion of that sort of character, rather than his opinion on the characterization itself.

The man should not be a gamer, he doesn't enjoy very much...
yes, because the one thing that unites the gaming community is that they're all happy and agree with each other.

And he isn't british no matter how many times he tries to hump the british flag during his reviews from doctor who and bbc references in this one to many others. Seriously check back, he's so much in love with britain, he should just make love to the queen and be done with it.
I think being born in Britain and living in a former British colonial nation leaves him more than entitled to refer to British television.

hell, I'm a cultural and genetic mish-mash from the frozen Canadian wastes, and even I appreciate British programming (whatever morsels US companies have managed to scavenge and simulcast to our igloos). last I checked, that didn't necessitate that I'm trying to pass myself off as a British citizen.

Yahtzee is first and foremost an entertainer, and if you're not impressed with his style you're welcome to say so, but at least make sense when you do. I don't understand how "he tries to be English(!?)" has any bearing on the actual material.

(besides, he's Australian. how did you deduce that he is not simply acting as an Australian immigrant from the UK normally would, but is rather putting forth a malicious ruse?)

4/10 for this review.
see why numerical scores are fundamentally terrible? even given that spiel, a score of four in ten is the absolute lowest this guy's willing to go.

He said it was good guys, yeesh.
Anyways this was a pleasant surprise, I thought he'd toss this one aside and review Borderlands or Demons souls.
I dont fully agre with his gripes but the part about walls and enemy ethnicity was funny.
and is it just me, or did naughty dog watch his last review, they took out vehicle sections, quicktime events (during cutscenes) and most enemies are white.
