Al eyed the situation carefully. Maeror had simply gone mad for a moment and chewed out Bradley for smoking. He wasn't a fan of the activity himself- he prefered to live a long life- but that was simply stupid.

Then things started to make some sort of sense. The knives, the planted pills, the execution of Rob... "Maeror, how well would you say you knew Rob?"

OOC: Save a good arguement against it, my vote goes for Maeror.

"None. I didn't know the guy at all."
"I know my outburst has led people to believe I did it, that I was sent to cover it up. That's not true. When I came in on the chopper, the infected person on board was my wife. She insisted on going on the rescue effort. If I was going to kill you all, why would I let my wife come? How long do you think I would last here in my condition? I have no motive to kill any of you."
He sighed.
"If you don't believe me, go ahead and kill me right now. I've worked my ass off to try to keep you guys alive, but if your suspicion wins out, then go ahead. When the next person dies, do you really want the thought that you've killed an innocent man? I basically killed Siggaurd. I hate myself every minute for it. Try living with that."

Laura walked over to Rain and spoke very quietly. "Everything was fine, then he crashes his helicopter right into our midsts. Then Dan dies and who points the finger at Sigguard? Maeror. He doesn't get along with anyone and he's an experienced killer, about the only reason I didn't think he killed Dan was because of the one-handed-pill-bottle thing, but I tried doing it, and it's not that hard. I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but..." she leaned in and said in a hushed voice, "are there any reasons we should believe him to be innocent?"

Maeror removed his trench knife and threw his pouch containing his remaining weapons on the ground.
"I'm no longer armed. Take them. I'm willing to give them up to prove my innocence."

"And if the next victim is choked to death?"
Shaz gleamed. He'd never liked Maeror anyway.

Maeror looked at Shaz, no anger in his eyes.
"I died when my arm got blown off. I died again when my wife got infected, and I died when I basically killed Siggaurd. If you're so confident that I'm the killer, pick up the gun in the pouch and shoot me. It wouldn't be anything new to me."

OOC: Edited. Ye posted when I did.

Al glared at Shaz for a moment. "Don't even try it, Shaz."

He turned his attention back to Maeror. "Okay, so those are all the weapons on you. What if you have a secret stash of knives somewhere in the building?" He knew he was being paranoid, but Al hadn't gotten this far by being gung-ho. He turned to Galt and suggested, "It might be best to put Maeror in solitary confinement. If someone else gets murdered while he's in there, then we know he's telling the truth. If not, we have our infiltrator."

OOC: The Sorrow has gone from L to Light. What a twist! Although I think we should stop suggesting confinement, as that doesn't line up with the premise of a 'lynching' game. I'll let Galt bring up the old 'not enough resources' excuse rather than do it myself though; who knows, maybe he'll allow it.

"You don't need two hands to hold a gun. Yeah, he seems very shady. But I'm not the one for killing people, quite the opposite in fact, so I'll leave it to Galt and all that."

Rain turns to Laura. This is the first decent conversation since he first talked to that drnk back at the Market place.

"So how are you holding up? Better then myself I would expect."

Laura smiled at Rain. "Not so well, really. I'm used to stressful situations, but more along the lines of 'the lead singer won't go on stage' rather than 'everyone you care about is dying'." She looked at the floor, smiling with sad eyes, and looked back to him. "I miss concerts. Being in a crowd without feeling the need to be armed."

Rain looked at Laura show off her sensitive side.

"You were a singer? I heard you traveled alot too."

Rain looked at the burning pile of corpses.

"It's not the bodies and death that scare me, I'm used to all that, it's the fact that somebody might want to kill me. I've never really had any enemies aside from the ones at school."

She laughed a bit, "I wasn't a singer, I was a talent scout. Just a member of the audience who got to go backstage."

Rain looked past Laura and after a pause said "It's not the bodies and death that scare me, I'm used to all that, it's the fact that somebody might want to kill me. I've never really had any enemies aside from the ones at school."

Laura listened earnestly and smiled when he finished. "What kind of trouble did you get into at school?" she asked playfully.

"Haha, you know bullies picking on the nerd kid. Normal school boy stuff."

There was a slight pause while Rain remembered how badly things had changed in the past week.

"Those were the days huh? So a talent scout? How did a talent scout get so good at archery? Was it spare time or more of a hobby?"

"It was a hobby. Got a lot of questions at airports lugging a big bow case around, but it was worth it. Never thought I'd be firing an arrow at something living, or undead I guess..."

Stompy stared at the one called Maeror. Unarmed, if he wasn't the killer, he was a sitting duck. He didn't know anyone too well, but he hoped the others had made the right choice. "I don't want to condemn an innocent man to death" muttered Stompy under his breath. Though, who is really innocent now-a-days?, Stompy thought to himself.

I wonder, will there be a revelation of what exactly happened to Sigguard at the end of the RP? It would be great knowing if he possibly survived or more likely died, if so how far did he get? My imaginary sniper/ninja/shadow thinks its Laura who commited the crime, in the ballroom with the noose!

Gremlin wandered over to Rain and Laura, trying to ignore the accusations flying around.

"Never thought I'd be firing an arrow at something living, or undead I guess.."

"I think we can forgive you for not expecting that one" Gremlin said softly, with a half smile. "Gremlin thinks if anyone did expect this, it would be a very good party trick" he chuckled, then shrugged. "When Rob asked me for a weapon, I never thought I'd be seeing him in that state..." he shook his head. "But such as it is, I feel our attention must turn to the living, no? But I think I would rather do so in my own fashion, rather than by flinging accusations and making less living people. So tell me about yourselves, yes? Tell me the things that made you happy, before this hell, and perhaps we can go some way to remembering what it is to be human, rather than seek to destroy what humanity we have left."

OOC- I'm disappointed in you, Sorrow... I was going to try to form a sort of alliance with you.
Killion was afraid. He didn't want to be responsible for the death of an innocent man, the death of Siggaurd.
Killion whispers to himself- "It was the only rational choice... In the absence of motive, the suspect will always be someone who needs none... Siggaurd was unstable."
Why does death follow me?
"No, this wasn't my fault, I was right, I had to have been right! This... was a different murderer. It has to have been..."
Killion looks up, and sees Stompy glance around. Killion's lip pulls back into a snarl. He begins to speak louder, publicizing his accusation.
"Stompy. I knew you once, but I never liked you. Too caught up in your status in the hierarchy, always placing yourself over all others, your only interest in people is what you can get from them. This murder wasn't like the last one, with neither rhyme nor reason, this had a motive. We all heard that recording, what was on that drive was important to the killer. You would be the perfect candidate for this murder, we don't know what you've been doing since the outbreak, how you managed to survive. Give me one good reason why I should trust you."
