Killion pushed aside his feelings about the deaths, there were things that needed doing. Survival was still more important than grieving.
"This is a well fortified blockade, they've obviously been here a while. They'll have supplies and some kind of vehicle around here somewhere. I'm just worried that there may be reinforcements nearby, they would have had a radio. We need to get moving ASAP, but I'm no longer sure we should continue on this road. North may be a better option. I... We need a leader. I'm certainly not qualified, so I vote that we make Gremlin our leader. Even though he's a little... Cracked... He's still the best choice."

OOC- You know, if we're gonna say Dane's dead, we should actually kill him off. He has connections to people, the characters will evolve differently in the event of his death. He's not someone who can just go missing without anyone noticing.

Al agreed for the most part. "Cracked, yes. But he IS surprisingly wise..." He rubbed his chin before tossing caution into the wind. "What the hell. I'll throw my hat into the ring, if only to give everyone a choice."

After listening to Johnny sob a bit Rain remembered to stitch him up. He was to rapped up in his attempt to save Patrick he almost forgot about everyone else.

"Sorry, let me get onto that. I think I may have some stiches in here if not I'll have to glue it and wrap it up in bandages. It's a bit barberic but still practical. This may sting because I'm starting to run low on morphine but atleast you can still feel pain right?"

Rain got to work on Johnny's fingers. He listened in onto the conversation the rest were having. When Rain had finished Johnny he truned to the group.

"You want to make Gremlin the leader?! As far as I can see he's a drunk with a missing leg! He's a nice guy and wise but you also needs intellegents for all of this! We're being shot at and attacked by the dead! There was a killer but thanks to everyone's bloodfrenzies that's sorted out. We're in the middle of a fucking desert! We had to move all the way over here for a reason I can't seem to make out! And now you want to make Gremlin our leader!"

Rain claps.

"Congratulations everyone, I don't know how much more worse this can even get!"

 

[Larenxis]

"Well I was gonna suggest Rain, but since he's a right prick, I vote for Al," Laura said. "Anyway, we can choose someone as we go check out their supplies. I want to get moving before the sun rises too high and I'm not prepared to go on foot."

 

[PurpleRain]

Rain looked at Laura.

"Do we even know what kind of situation we're dealing with. Galt was a gun nut and had enough weapons to keep everyone going but now he's dead we have nothing! Why did we come here anyway? Straight to the centre of all this chaos. Should we have tried to catch a boat or something? Get away from all this. It's a bit late now. Sand is all that surrounds us. That and a thousand hungry jaws."

 

[stompy]

"How about we fuck this leader business, and focus on getting our asses outta' here!" Stompy exclaimed at the crowd. Geez, there's more to worry about then who's leads the group right now, thought Stompy as he went over to check the supplies.

He walked through the vehicles in the convoy, inspecting each of them for food and water. He noted what's left, and came back to the group.

"Right, sorted who's playing leader for the moment?" he asked generally. "Gremlin, we have just enough supplies to last us about a week or so, and that's not counting the exercise some of us'll have to go through trying to find new vehicles. If it's mass exodus, I can safely say that we'll be dead, all of us, in a matter of a few days. So, we better decide what to do, or we won't have enough supplies to do anything but wait to die" Stompy reported grimly. Someone better choose, and quick, he thought.

 

[PurpleRain]

Rain sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"... I don't care anymore."

He paused for a bit.

"Come on. One of these cars used as a road block should work."

 

[Larenxis]

Laura rolled her eyes at Stompy. It often felt like nobody listened to her at all. Nevertheless she went with him to the barricade and while he looked for water she looked for a car. Everything looked too small to carry them and their supplies, and then she saw it. A big purple monstrosity. A refurbished tour bus, still reading Las Vegas above the windshield, was sitting there looking ready to pounce. It was covered in spikes and had something that reminded her of a lance at the front, probably for splitting anything that got in it's way. There was a turret near the back, and little holes along the side that could be used to poke off anything that got stuck on the spikes. "Well I'll be damned," she murmured before running back to the group. "I think I've found something guys. Haven't checked out the interior, but it looks usable."

 

[blackadvent]

"Rain, do us a favor and shut up." He stared at the man, trying to be reasonable. "Galt might've reminded me a bit too much of that military guy from 'Day of the Dead', but I know that he was trying to keep us safe by trying not to risk going through the a part of the Line that was probably heavily defended. And while Gremlin might not be the most 'intelligent', he's got more people supporting him for leader than you or me. And this ain't a dictatorship last time I checked."

An idea flashed through Al's head. "What if we never went through the line at all? What if we just went to the west coast of Mexico, got a boat, crossed the sea into Baja California, and just went north? Think about it! That bus," he said as he referred to the monstrous vehicle that Laura had found, "could be a safe ticket there! Or if you all are crazy enough.... it might get us through the line. But that's not my call, is it?"

 

[John Galt]

Killion looks around nervously.
"We really need to get out of here, we can argue later but lets just get on the road. Company's coming, and everyone seems to want to head south anyways, lets just get going now and decide later."

Without waiting for a reply, Killion runs off to start loading everything onto the Pink Monstrosity.

 

[stompy]

"Damn..." Stompy muttered when he saw the bus that had been labelled the 'pink monstrosity'.

Upon hearing Al's idea, Stompy grinned. "That might work, Al. I mean, how many people could have boats? And how many of them would risk men and supplies to board our large group? Though, as Killion said, we need to get out of here. I suppose we'll board up the 'pink monstrosity', and then think about it on the way there." Stompy stated, and then left to help the other move the supplies into the bus.

Shaz entered the Purple Monstrosity without hesitation. He moved through the bus aisle and climbed into the turret. Seated in it's repurposed bus chair he scanned the surroundings as the others packed up their belongings.
"I don't have much anyway," he muttered.

 

[PurpleRain]

Rain started to gather up his stuff and load it onto the bus. He looked back at the bodies.

"Are we going to burry those two or just let the birds eat them?"

He said with an emotionless face.

 

[Singing Gremlin]

Gremlin was thoroughly alarmed when he heard himself suggested as leader. Luckily, it didn't seem to have to come anything, so he put it to the back of his mind.

He grinned wildly as he saw the Purple Monstrosity. "Now that, my friends, is a stylish ride!" He leapt up into the driver's seat, making himself comfortable. He nodded to Al. "We must all decide on the plan methinks, but Killion is right. This road leads south, and I do not wish to break our new transport by trying her offroad. So, unless anyone has objections, we can get moving and bicker along the way?"

As Rain spoke, Gremlin looked out, face grim. "We ought to bury them, methinks. But do we have time? If we leave them, they will be two amongst the fallen scores of their adversaries. A noble final resting, perhaps."

 

[PurpleRain]

"Perhaps nobilty doesn't come into things after you're dead. I sat with the kid in his last minutes. It's deserving if out of all this shit and madness that we can still keep our humanity."
