[Just letting you guys know, I have no intention of revealing what's in the journal, I just didn't want us to stand around talking forever when people were dying outside. So I made it so the helicopter could still be used as a plot point by Galt, without us having to wait. The journal opens when we are told to open it. I might even forget about it after the first murder.]

Killion watched as the group of zombie-hunters set off. He was thinking about doing the same thing, but he felt like he needed some time alone, and it seems only the part of the mall they were headed to had been breached.

"I'm going to go look for supplies Galt. I saw a map of the mall somewhere, and there's some stuff we can use. Don't wait up."

Killion turned his back and left, not even giving their leader the chance to speak, if he did, Galt might make him go with someone else.

Finally out of food, Dan decided it was time to leave. Grabbing a nearby baseball bat, he began disassembling his barricade, ready to face whatever evil that lay on the other side.

Just as he had opened up a small hole in the wall, he heard a voice calling, "...anybody alive in there?".

Exicted, Dan quickly stuck his head out of the hole, looking for his rescuers. Spotting them a good distance away, he shouted to them.

"Yes, I'm here. Please, help me!"

Sigguard heared what Gremlin said, for an insane figure, he was quite wise.

He looked at Rob, he seemed scared, and a bit discouraged.
Sigguard gave him a pat on his shoulders and said in his recognisable soft voice: "You're as important for our survival as anyone else".

They came to some shops, one barricaded, the others a home to zombies. He noticed what kind of shops they were. His pistol was out of ammo, and he didn't have any melee weapons.

He needed to get a new weapon, and without normal weaponry at hand...... improvise.

OOC: sorry axe, missed your post there. Hang on, will get you some action.

Gremlin cracked a grin. "That, my friends, is our call!" He looked around. "Steve, cover us from up here, Rob, get behind me and clobber anything that Gremlin's axe does not!" With a howl, he leapt forward, his axe scything through the ranks of zombies. He laughed, pressing forwards. His enthusiasm got the better of him, however, and it was not long before a Zombie got past the flailing blade. A crack from above and the Zombie was thrown sideways, courtesy of Steve's shotgun. "The man can shoot!" Gremlin announced, impressed. The next zombie received a painful blow to the head from Rob, and in this fashion they soon reached the barricade. "Rob!" Gremlin shouted, as he removed a zombie's head from its shoulders "Help our friend in there drop the barricade! I will keep these ones otherwise engaged! Please, move quickly, I am but human!" Yet another zombie got the better of his swings, but as it lunged for him, a blur across Gremlin's peripheral vision swiftly took care of it. A glance sideways revealed Sig standing beside him, felling zombies. Grinning once more, Gremlin resumed his defence of the shop entrance as Rob and Dan hurried to take the barricade down.

Dan watched in awe as some crazy man with a peg leg and his friend mowed down scores of zombies in their way. As they finally reached his barricade, he heard the man with the axe order his friend to help take care of the barricade.

Hoping to finally reach some real safety, Dan resumed the destruction of his barricade with renewed vigor.

Gah, I keep leaving people behind. Well, I forgot about the Sorrow so guess who's crawling out of the helicopter!

As the group of shapes left the wreck, another figure stirred inside. Maeror fought for breath against his bruised lungs as he pulled himself out from under a seat. Whoever came in seemed to mistake him for one of the dead and made off with the pilot's journal. Maeror never knew that his wife had gotten infected. How he managed to stay unbitten remained a mystery, maybe ol' Martha still had something left in her. No matter, she was lying on the ground outside.

Once he pulled himself out of the wreck, Maeror crawled his way to the large glass doors on the other side of the park. His left arm, or what was left of it, ached terribly. First it gets blown off in combat then the little stub gets mangled in the crash. He felt that if he'd never gotten booted out of the army for his arm, he might be somewhere safe guarding the Reddeker.

He took the small knife he'd taken from his shop back in Atlanta and began to pound on the door. It seemed like hours until someone finally came to his rescue. A man in fatigues and another in scrubs grabbed him by his good arm and hoisted him inside.

Rob, absolutely fuming at Steve's comment, still couldn't bring himself to speak. When Sigguard patted him on the shoulder he smiled at him, encouraged. Gremlin called for people, and amazingly there was a response.

"Rob, get behind me and clobber anything that Gremlin's axe does not!"

A broad grin spread across Robs face, as for once he felt... well, he felt like a hero. Charging in after Gremlin (with more enthusiasm than skill) he smashed a zombie in the head, feeling the skull crunch and he suddenly wondered if he would be sick. Thankfully, Gremlin saved him from having to kill more and he began to dismantle the barricade with all the speed he could muster.

Sigguard, looked around for something he could use. Something sharp or blunt.

He saw a wine bottle on the floor, and he quickly grabbed it.

he shattered the bottle on the floor and used the left-over handle as an improvised knife.

He came to Gremlin's aid, because one man alone won't last long against a group.

With the barricade finally down, Dan thanked his rescuer. Looking past him, however, he could see the man with the peg leg starting to get overwhelmed by the vast number of zombies. Even with another man, brandishing a broken wine bottle, helping him, they would not be able to last forever against the onslaught. Not willing to let the men who saved his life die themselves, Dan grabbed his bat from inside the store and lept into the fray.

Maeror looked around at the figures surrounding him. Despite his situation, he kept his military-trained calmness.
"Situation, numbers, armament. Tell me what we're working with, here."

Sigguard charged at the zombies, swinging his "knife" accurately at the zombies, to some effect.

Although it helped a bit, a zombie won't be stopped by a few cuts, and he was forced to look for something more effective.

He then yelled over his shoulder: "Can anyone throw me a bat!"

Galt squatted down to get a closer look at Maeror. He didn't look infected and surprisingly wasn't killed in the crash.

"We've got a little over a dozen. Some of the group went off to reclaim part of the mall after a break in. I think they might have found someone. Right now, we're just trying to survive until the horde migrates. As for weaponry, it's BYOB. The gun store is still in the overrun section."

Galt extended his hand.

"Name's Galt, welcome to our humble abode."

Just as he was about to start cracking some heads, Dan heard the man with the wine bottle calling for a bat. Knowing the man needed something better than the bottle he was using, he called out, "Take mine!". He tossed the bat over the heads of a few zombies, and the man caught it in midair, resuming his zombie slaying without breaking stride.

Glad he had been able to help the man, Dan turned and ran back into the store, knowing there would be plenty more weapons available in a sports store.

Maeror accepted the handshake.
"Lieutenant Maeror. The supplies I had were wrecked in the crash, but I always stay armed."
He opened the pouch on his side to reveal several knives (including one set of trench knives).
"Plus, I've got this."
He pulled a Glock 18 out from the bottom of the pouch.
"Help yourselves."

Shuddering slightly, Rob hesitated for only a moment before going to join the others in fighting the undead, but even though he managed to fight, his face was going steadily paler and he began to look quite ill. He was also desperately trying to not be sick.

Sigguard, now in possesion of a bat started to crush some skulls, definetly more effective.
He was able to get near to Gremlin.

"Gremlin" he said: "Think we're nearly done?"

OOC: wow, posted a reply and it'd all changed.

"I believe we are, my friend!" Gremlin nodded. Once everyone had grouped together again, he shouted "very well, after Steve! I dearly hope your plan is a good one!"
