"I hear it! I hear it!" Neil shouts. Vinny intervenes. "Be quiet!" "They're coming from over here!" The sobbing stops once again. A teenage girl limps out of Taco Bell. "Are you okay?" Vinny asks. The girl says nothing. She slowly raises her head. Her eyes are glowing red. She raises her hands, which have gigantic claws rather than fingernails. "Oh, shit." Vinny says quietly. The girl screams a deafening, bloodcurdling scream before charging at the suddenly dazed group. She aims for Neil, since he's the one that woke her up. Before he can react at all, the claws slice his throat, unleashing a scarlet spray.

The girl is a witch. Consult the monster list if you want more in-depth information.

Meanwhile

A soldier approaches the prison Humvee that Maris is locked into. He lightly taps on the window. "Have you learned your lesson?"

Ask Sosakitty but I highly doubt it. If you read above the wire for the elevator snapped and you just got out of prison the chances of the gaurds letting you roam free are slim. I would consult Sosa before you come running down here, but if you did it wouldn't make much sense in the story.

The man in charge made his leave and Christian was left under the watchful eyes of two more of the soldiers, leaving the remaining two too walk over to the man who was now emerging from the fog nearby; Dr. Cameron or what ever his name was. He was going over to find Blue. They had found Blue. He couldn't shake the fear ripping up through his stomach, every never and fiber in his body itched with anticipation. He knew he had to do something, just what it was he wasn't quite sure, not yet. He hoped that it made itself apparent soon though. He assumed he would know what to do when he saw Blue.

He looked at the nearest soldiers, he could hear chatter over their head pieces but couldn't make it out. "Please, is she alright?" He asked softly. The solider turned his masked face towards Christian and gazed on, but behind the mask Christina could see nothing, no expression, no definition, just two dark pits of nothingness. "Please, tell me, is she alright?" He felt pathetic pleading, but he was in no condition to do anything else; his body still felt like it had been steamrolled, which wasn't far form the truth.
"Shut up human." The soldiers voice was harsh, almost metallic and alien, it sent a shudder down Christians spine.
"Damn it, why wont you fucking tell me." Snapped Christian, he was through being polite, if these hard asses wanted to act all big and tough when they had him outnumbered seven two one he would show them just how tough they really where.
"You have no authority to make requests of me human. Now shut up and stop whining" Again the sick metallic scraping of his voice through his helmet.
"Make me." Shot back Christian. The solider raised the butt of his HK-MP5 and smashed it into Christians face. All Christian heard was a distant ringing, and all he saw was blackness as he succumbed so unconsciousness.
<spoiler=sosa> I have armed the guy with a HK-MP5, is that alright? you only specified the weapons of three of them (a bazooka, a mini gun, and a sniper rifle) The rest you said had sub-machine guns. So yeah, i feel the HK-MP5 fits this category nicely.

Name: Grik'nir
Description: Roughly 8' 4", pallid white skin, enlarged white eyes with vastly reduced pupils. Long, grimy nails. Completely nude.
Background: To be revealed through IC posts.
Purpose: Oh, you'll find out. Hehehehe...

And Sosa, this character will not adversely affect the plot you've got so far. At least until you give me the green light to. In which case... *evil laugh*.

His cold, tattered chest heaved slowly as he watched the food run through his territory.

HIS territory!

He growled slightly, slinking back against the counter. Oh yes, he'd make them pay. He'd make them pay for every last molecule of edible material they took. Every dust speck they disturbed. He'd make them pay with a thousand years of torment.

But for now... there was nothing he could do. They were many, he was one. They had guns, he had nothing but his grimy nails and rotting teeth.

But he had the Dark Ones. Yes... the Dark Ones would help him. And he'd just have to... no, best not to think of it. There was much to do, yes... much to do.

The girl let out a horrid scream, and turned towards the rest of the party, who dimly saw Neil's body collapse noiselessly to the ground. He exhaled smoke in a heavy cloud towards the Witch. It didn't seem to put her off however, as she snarled heavily directly at him. He aimed the shotgun at her chest, and fired both barrels. She fell backwards with a cry, landing on her back with a soft thud. Suddenly, they were aware that other beings in the vicinity had just realised they were there, as the sound of fifty snarling cannibals filled the air, and on the ground in front of them, another shrill cry joined the snarls.

The witch isn't dead, just knocked back, hence the shrill cry. When it gets back up, I'm gonna run for it.

The thing got up screaming like a banshee so I pistol whipped it. When I woke up the thing had moved on to something else and I was slowly getting surrounded by shuffling Z's. The closest one to me broke into a run as soon as it new I was awake. I couldn't even see clearly it was so dark, just angry snarling shapes. The running one got close enough to scratch me before I hit it squarely on the jaw. It didn't even flinch, just kept on running.

Then it hit me, they were all running away, away from the snarling teenage girl.

"Run!" Vinny shouts. He stumbles along, wondering why the zombies are running past him rather than toward him. The girl recovers from her pistol-whipping and resumes her shrill screaming. She shoves the other monsters out of the way in a desperate attempt to take down the humans that have disturbed her slumber.

Meanwhile
"Okay." The soldier says as he opens the door of the prison Humvee. "Come on out."

Sorry I haven't posted lately, been having internet troubles.
I sat down, feeling the adrenaline run out of my system. I felt I had been awake for days. The mercenary was sitting away from me. I was going to talk to him when I saw that some of the cleaners had found another human, who was probably with the mercenary. She looked out of it. They performed the light test, as was standard protocol (I'm guessing), and I swore they said she was infected. I flinched slightly, waiting for the gunshot, but nothing happened. Perhaps i'd misheard. She relaxed visibly, slumping into one of the cleaners. The Merc began pleading with the cleaners, trying to find out what happened with the girl. The cleaners, naturally, didn't comply. His attitude turned considerably sourer, and he received a gun butt to the face for his trouble. I should have told him that the cleaners weren't exactly easy to negotiate with, but I just sat there, staring like some voiceless git. I began to relax, hoping to get some sleep in before anything happened, but as I slipped out of consciousness, one of the cleaners' grating voices cut through: "Move"
So much for sleep.

Chuckling madly to himself, Grik'nir watched the humans battle his sister. Oh, how they fought. If only they realized that it was wasted effort.

Oh, how the tribulations of mice amused him.

Laughing aloud, though unheard over his sister's wails, Grik'nir quickly padded off, whistling a low, mournful call to the Dark Ones.

Oh, how they would pay.

Okay, I don't mind if Blue dies, honestly, but wasn't there something about a cure? ._.
You might not mind.. but Christian will :(. And yeah, Dr. Cameron is carrying an experimental cure

Outside the darkness that now clouded his mind Christian could hear voices, and noises. He didn't know how long he had been out, maybe seconds.. maybe hours.. But it seemed like only a few minutes. The rest of the soldiers who had entered the drug store where now emerging from the building, and between them two where roughly dragging something.. a human figure.. a.. Blue? It was her. Christian felt sick to the stomach. Was she dead? Heaven help them if she was dead.

As she got closer he could hear them talking. "Move." Commanded one of them. Christian didn't particularly feel like taking orders, however he was roughly pulled to his feet by one of them; at least now he was standing. "Blue." He whispered, not recognizing the twisted sound of his own voice. Was he crying? No. It had to be tears from the pain. That explained it. As they half marched half dragged him forward he found himself beside Blues limp figure. He extended a hand towards her and tried to grasp hers between his, succeeding on the third attempt. With her diminutive palm cradled in his he now tightly squeezed, trying to feel for a pulse through her wrist. There was one, but it was so weak. 'Oh Blue.' He thought, feeling a wave of nausea grip him. He was at the end of his tither, and god did he need a smoke. But it didn't look like these asshole soldiers would let him get one.

"Blue." Christian said gently. "Please, Blue. Its me. Please, look at me." He said softly, squeezing her hand tighter.
"I thought I told you too shut up." came the metallic snarl from the soldier taking point in front of him. "Another noise and I'll put you out for good." Was that the same guy from before? Christian couldn't tell. All these assholes looked the same.

"Old habits die easily" Adrian thought, as he found himself running amongst a pack of zombies. He couldn't tell if the others were standing right next to him, or whether that was an infected panting and groaning. He allowed himself a look back; the Witch was staring right at him as she charged through the crowd, occasionally clawing a zombie aside which got in her way. Holy Hell she was fast! She was gaining. He attempted to speed up, but he could already feel his tobacco heavy lungs grinding against each other seemingly. He spied a ventilation shaft cover coming up in front of him as he neared the front of the fleeing crowd of undead, who gave him a wide berth ("Gotta love cigarettes" he thought). A crowbar was lodged in the vent cover; finally, luck was looking up. He turned and fired at the Witch again, who had gotten so close to him with claws outreached, that both barrels caught her in the torso. She screamed even louder as she fell backwards again. He stomped down on the crowbar, and jumped in.

The fall was further than he anticipated, and he landed heavily on hard damp metal with a crack. The metal dented beneath him under the weight. He felt a pain in his ankles, but he shrugged it off, and started to run again, not knowing or caring whether the others ahd followed his lead. The vent was large. Large enough to stand comfortably. He wondered how far he'd fallen.

Ryan spoke for the first time in ages.
"Why didn't the zombies get us?" Ryan looked around and did a head count. When he had first seen the zombies the infection had been calling to be set free. But he had killed it off.
