"I care. I'm sorry but I don't feel comfortable here but what ever. We'll see." and he walked back to where he was to lie back down.

Michael walked over to Terrance, Nikki and Rayne. "Just out of curiosity am I the only one who doesn't trust the army for shit? Why are they staking out here instead of trying to find survivors. There is something bigger going on"
Rayne replies Michael. "Just going out there and finding survivors right now? Not a very good idea. This is no task force. Closer to militia in that aspect. I trust them, but of course there is a bigger picture. We don't need to know about it though; we're civilians. It would probably only hurt us to know." She shifted and laid herself down again.
"About the trust.. I assume you didn't trust us cops back there either, or if you even do now. It's pretty natural. Always easy to blame bigger groups for whatever, especially authoritative ones." She looked at Nikki with concern in her eyes before closing them.
"Nikki, sweetie, you should try to lie down and get some rest. Try the stretcher next to mine here; they're pretty comfy." She allowed a smile to pass over her lips.

Nikki let out a sigh of defeat and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, might as well rest up while it's... somewhat calm." She laid down on the stretcher, almost humming at the comfort as she wrapped herself up tight. "Night everyone. See you in..." What time is it anyway? She shook her head, then shut her eyes. A mumbled "nevermind" managed to wiggle its way out before she finally submitted to resting.

"Night hun." Rayne took her uniformed jacket and used it as a blanket. Letting out a sigh at the warmth, this was true bliss in the face of what they had gone through so far. The only thing she was worried about was Thompson, as she hadn't gotten to see him yet.

Terrence shrugs slightly, settling comfortably against his... stretcher as the group finished talking. He wasn't sure what exactly they were talking about; the meds dulled him far too much for that.

However, they were alive. Rayne, Michael, Vinny... and Nikki.

A hazy memory of her rushing towards him flashed through his mind. "I'll have to have a talk with her... she could've died trying to help me." His mind slowly fades to sleep, a sense of peace permeating his body.

I wandered through the mostly deserted streets, hiding as best I could from wandering zombie packs. "I wonder if there's anyone left" I thought to myself.
"It's all our fault" I kept thinking, over and over, until my sense of reality kicked in. "It doesn't matter now, what's done is done". I walked on, marveling at how the once grand city had fallen so quickly with the onslaught of the virus.

In that moment of thought, I failed to notice the Cerberus pack inside one of the abandoned buildings. They however, noticed me. They jumped through the windows and began barreling down on me with surprising haste.

I took off down the road, knowing that my body armor would be useless against the relentless onslaught of the dogs; it simply wasn't designed for that kind of punishment. I rounded a corner and began looking for somewhere to take cover.

However, the search was cut short, because as I rounded the corner, I saw a group of Lickers and a Tank guarding a drugstore, the very one I wanted to enter.

"SHIT!" I shouted, skidding on my heels as I changed direction towards a building across the road; an apartment block, to be precise. As I ran, I prayed that the Lickers wouldn't decapitate me as I boosted it inside.

The hole in the drug store wall was huge. Adrian peered inside, squinting through the dust. He saw a figure moving, and raised his shotgun. A gutteral snarl escaped the dust, and he fired, sending the figure hurling backwards soundlessly.
Suddenly, he was flying through the air, the wind knocked out of him. He felt a sharp pain on his back, and was suddenly sliding. A man...at least, it seemed like a man; had hit him in the back with it's huge muscular arms, sending him flying through the drug store, through an already damaged window, and sliding across the polished floor of the mall. He was aware of several noises round him, but was struggling to catch his breath, and felt sick. A roar filled the air. He tried to move.
OOC=whaaaa? The drugstore and the mall are AGES apart dude.. edit this post p a h l e a s e.

The first thing that came into my view was a drugstore. The only problem was, it was blocked by a hulking great truck. Thinking fast, I want for the door, tearing it open, rushing through to the other side, and slamming the door into the face of the lead dog. I leaned against the door to stop the dogs getting through, and saw the oddest pair I've ever seen: a rather grizzled looking soldier with a cigarette in his mouth, and a strangely blue colored girl. I could feel the dogs beginning to push the door open, so I yelled at them "Shoot them! Shoot them quickly! You won't have a hope if they get inside!"
occ= whaaa again? The door to the drugstore is bared over and locked.. its what made this a good defensible position. the ONLY way in was through the back of the truck... which is now guarded by the Tank and Lickers. I'd hate to be a stickler for continuity.. but.. I AM a stickler for continuity.

there was no baka-chan.. and she didn't even know it. Thought Christian too himself. He was no psychologist, but he figured it was some sort of defensive mechanism she had instilled in herself to help her cope with how things had panned out since the start of all this madness, so he wasn't about to go judging her. As he thought this he felt the ground start to tremble and shake. That generally wasn't a good thing. Was it an earthquake? Christian licked his lips in preparation, what was it you were meant to do in case of an earthquake? stop drop roll? no, that was a fire.. find high ground.. he was pretty sure that was in case of a tsunami. Damn it, what?

In answer too his question the truck started to roll backwards, despite being lodged into the building. It rolled inch by inch, as it was removed form the sand, then finally shifted the last few meters rapidly as it was rolled out onto the street. The once safe haven of the truck was replaced with the visage of an absolutely enormous zombie, it loomed over him, easily as high as the truck. Its massive visage blocked out most of the street behind it. In case of an earthquake.. run for your fucking life because the earthquake is being caused by a Tank. looming in around the monstrosity where several smaller - comparatively - zombies. Their skin looked like a hung and dead carcass, oozing with open wounds and red sores, and between their lips hung long tongues that swayed form side to side, the smell emanating from them reminded Christian of a battle field he had once passed in Africa, just a small skirmish really, but none of the bodies had been disposed of so the reek of death, decay, and rotted flesh was near unbearable. Christian counted five of them. six on two.. this was going to be hard.

"Blue, I think we have overstayed our welcome." gasped Christian as he grabbed up his pack, placing his foot behind the lantern and kicking it towards the nearest of the Lickers. It ricochet of the creatures head and into the wall, really achieving nothing. But Christian was sure it had looked sufficiently cool. In response to Christians threat the first of the Lickers sprang forward, only to be swatted away by the Tank. It looked like this creature had ideas of its own on who should get the kill. "Get behind me Blue." Said Christian as he reached for her hand. He was going to protect her, no matter the cost.

I realized that I had sworn a bit loudly, so the door probably wouldn't last much longer. I could feel the ground shaking from the running of the Tank. I hit the lock (like that would do any good) and boosted it up the stairs. I forced my way into one of the apartments (deserted) and looked out the window into the street, and sure enough, the Tank and Lickers had joined in the fun.
Lucky Me.
The door almost liquefied as the Tank smashed into it. "Gotta get out of here" I thought. As the last Licker entered inside, I thought "There's only one way out of here now, down". I sized up the situation, took a deep breath, shot the window with my Browning and took a running jump out the window, landing quite hard on the pavement. There was no time for pain, as I had to get into safety fast.

I tried the truck that was stuck into the building, but it was lock, so in a panicked haste, I jumped through the window of the next door building, rapidly withdrawing my M16 as a Cerberus came sailing after me, straight into a burst of bullets.

Suddenly, I heard the sound of tires rolling. I cautiously looked out the window to see the Tank had dragged the truck out of the building, and was going to be the only one to fight these two. That was bad news for me, due to I was the only target left for them., I crouched down, reloaded my pistol, and waited for the worst.

Christian saw Blue back away form him, back away from the protection. 'Damn it no' he thought. He was going to get her out of here alive. That was a fact. He gripped the SR-98 and whipped it out to aim it at the hulking monstrosity just as the creature roared in defiance and launched itself at him. In the close confines of the room, he didn't even need to try to aim, even with this skewed lighting emitting from the toppled lantern and Blues torch.. He raised the gun to his shoulder and pulled the trigger.

The shot was good, it was always going to be good. But what he needed it to be was magnificent. As it was the shot impact hard against the creatures head, the 7.62X51mm round impacted against the Tanks cheek with savage ferocity, tearing away a great lump of skin and causing the creatures tongue to loll out of its bloodied jaw. But the actual effect of the round was minimal, the Tank still hit Christian at full force with what could only be described as primal fury. Christian was launched bodily off the ground and into the wall behind him, pain rocket through his back; his spine, his neck, even his ass. He hoped nothing was broken. However he had little time to do more then think that as the creature made another lunge for him.

Christian rolled to the side through an act that he could only atone to years of military training as combat instinct kicked in. He was on the ground and that was bad. He rolled to his left, pivoted on his shoulder, and came up into a low crouching stance. Just in time to see the hunk of meat that was the creatures fist explode into the wall behind him, rending dent in the concrete, and shaking lose an overhead sky light. It's glass showered down into the middle of the room forcing back one of the over eager lickers, the others however circled around the room, clinging to walls and ceiling, circling there prey like hungry sharks.

I poked my head up and shot the last few Cerberii(?). There was an odd feeling in my gut, due to the fact there were no zombies on the street. I climbed back through the window, the adrenalin acting like a painkiller from the previous fall, and looked into the drugstore, to see I sight I think i'll never forget: A Mercenary battling a Tank with a crowd of Lickers as an audience. However, said audience noticed me, and decided I had enough meat on me to be edible.

I fell back violently as a horde of licker tongues came flying in my direction, leaving marks in the sand where I was moments before. I leaned around the corner, popping off a couple of lucky shots that brought down one of the Lickers, crashing into the counter. Some of the Lickers, obviously exited by a new target, climbed down the walls and approached the door/giant great gaping hole.
Fuck.
Suddenly, there was a great almighty crash as the Tank punched the wall, causing the ground to shake.
Edit: I moved out of the way as a bit of the roof fell onto where I was standing mere milliseconds earlier. I realized that if I had been hit by that, I would have been dead, either by head trauma, or being eaten alive by Lickers.

I'm a brain storming.. I really am. But.. I think fucked is the only way to describe it

Christian felt blue tug at his hand. thank god he had rolled towards her, had he rolled the opposite way he would now be isolated on the other side of the room with the Tank between them. But fortune had smiled on him again. 'Just don't stop smiling now.' He thought too himself as he ran with Blue, as hard as he could. Behind them the tank dislodged its fist from the wall and brought it careening across the room, catching a shelf with the back swing that was subsequently sent hurtling towards the escaping duo, just as one of the Licker's pounced. 'You've got too be shitting me.' Was all Christian managed to think as the shelf impacted with the Licker, sending it sprawling to the ground. 'That's the sort of luck you only read about.' But Christian didn't care, beggars can't be choosers, and anyhting that went their way right now was fine by his standards.

In the other corner of the room he saw several of the Licker's converging on the figure of the man that had entered the building seconds earlier. Another nameless face in this apocalypse, one that would probably soon be forgotten. Christian was indifferent to this, as far as he was concerned it was that guys fault that the zombies had found them. If his death helped him escape with Blue, then at least some good had come out of it.

As they dashed headlong towards the gap the Tank came hurtling at them again, its massive form hiding considerable speed. It took a running lunge at the duo and Christian did the only thing that seemed appropriate, he pushed Blue aside from the sweeping paw and took the full brunt of the blow himself. He was sent spiraling out the gap in the wall onto the street outside. His body rolled once, twice, three times, before coming to a stop in the middle of the road. Christian knew he was going to die. But for Blues sake, not yet. He struggled to get up, but every fiber in his body resonated against it, his very mortal coil screamed for him to lay there, on the bitumen road, and let his life ebb away. He felt he at least deserved a cigarette.
"Blue.... run.." He screamed weakly from where he lay, propping himself up on his shoulder and reaching to retrieve his magnum 'concubine.' He could still make out dim shapes through the fog and darkness, but was too far away to be able to discern what was happening inside. 'Please Blue.. run.' screamed his mind. He clasped the pistol tightly in his left hand, as his shaking right hand reached for his packet of smokes. They had been crushed in his fall. 'Great. I don't even get to go out with a smoke.' Christian sighed, watched, and waited. All the time hoping, and praying for Blue to run; as if the very force of his own mind would aid her.

<spoiler=and I draw a blank> Shame.. I like Christian, but I at least want Blue to live.. come on, such an interesting Character. :(

The large man had apparantly become distracted by something else. As Adrian backed against a wall, the two lickers rounded on him. He gasped a gasp of panic. Suddenly he realised the thing he had backed into wasn't a wall at all, but perhaps something even better...

"Riiiight, you won't turn. Just like no-one else turned and this is all just one big nightmare." Ian says darkly, "and what the hell is up with that McDonalds comment?" Ian sizes up Ryan's appearence. "In any case, you look fine right now and that's good enough for me. so long as you stay healthy, it should act like any other viral infection and spread slower. I've never actually seen "anyone" fight it off though. I'm going back to sleep now seeing as how your commotion woke me the hell up right in the middle of a very not piss-poor frightening dream." Ian walks away with a good-bye and a smile to shows he trusts Ryan, at least for now. Ian saw Vinny go towards the medical tent and walks there to maybe find a place to sleep and also to see the others. when he gets there, he sees terrence and the others, and smiles. As he tosses out a bedroll that a military troop gave him, he says "maybe we can make it out of here" and lies down, falling into a deep, deep, sleep.

<spoiler=OOC>Not much from liz sosa, you're just really controlling Vinny, also when's the next weather report?

Ryan gave up and walked back to his secret hiding place. His pistol lay to his right and his hand resting on top of it. he fell asleep quick enough on the hard, cold floor and he had the most vivid dream.

(dream)

Ryan pulled away the barracade and pulled open the doors. He roared for the attention of the undead and they ran up to him. But he was with them, not against. He had pale grey skin and his eyes were dim and lifeless. He turned and ran up to the humans. Bullets hit him once or twice but no pain was inflicted anywhere. He saw Ian fighting off an undead and ran up to him. He grabbed Ians throat and tooko a chunk out of it. blood ran down his body and Ian slumped to the floor gurgling. At that time Ryan heard the screams of Vinny, Terrance and theother humans screaming and crying for help. He pulled open Ians stomach and feasted on the glorious insides. The zombies gave a cry of triumph and feasted on there now dead treats.

(reality)

Ryan awake in a cold sweat. His stomach grumbled but not for flesh, But a fried breakfast. He sat up and grabbed his pistol, putting it down his belt. He Crawled out of his pit and walked to the main camp, looking for the group, oh and some food.

Aaron saunters along the shop, his hands dug deeply into his pockets. His eyes glued to the floor as he walked. He loosely sighed, forgetting how long he`s been in Las Vegas. It was all a bit of shock, really. It made him think. About life back home. In England. Would London be overrun? That`s his family gone.

Aaron could remember the flight here, the friendly air hostess that gave him those little tubes of Pringles. The captain`s message over the tannoy about the rainy weather ahead - please fasten your seat belts. It seemed all very unreal now, the "normal" side of life. The first few days of his holiday was enjoyable. Long days by the pool. Even longer nights at the casino. The fourth day in he noticed it beginning to happen. On the news there were reports from the BBC. He didn`t watch those all American channels. CNN. What-ever it was called.

The first reports were put up on the internet about things that the government were hiding. Tests going on. Something like that. The next day he checked the website once more. It was exactly the same. As if someone hadn`t updated it. For what-ever reason. Then he saw his first monster. Of course he didn`t know it was a zombie. Then it struck Las Vegas. It was all so sudden. Running out of the hotel. Down the streets. Towards the mall.

He trusted his best friend to look after his dog, Dylan. He was a little whippet, slightly too big for his breed. Does the infection effect animals? Either way, Dylan`s dead. His parents. Neither of them would be alive. His sister. Dead. Anna, his next door neighbour. Dead. Everyone is dead. No one is coming back. It was a universal problem. An international fear. In India what would they think. In Egypt. In Peru. In China. We all speak different languages, but now they only speak one. The horrible groans that emit from the dark.

Everyone of those monsters. Those things. Used to be a person. Every groan is a family. A missing soul. But none of them will be missed. You blow their brains out and don`t have a second thought. Because they`re dead. All of them. The big ones. The small ones. All of them used to be someone. A cleaner at the mall. A drugged up thug from the streets. Either way, they all had family. People that loved them. And now they`re gone, reduced to a groaning mess that feeds on the flesh of the "living".

What must it feel like? Would you still be sane? Would you know what was happening to you? Would you feel a deep, everlasting hunger for warm flesh? Or are those monsters - people - out there mindless shells? There was only one way to find out...

Aaron blinks, stopping in his tracks. He shakes his head gently, shrugging out those suicidal thoughts. Noticing the awkward glances he was getting from the soldiers, he quickly returned to his walk.
