Zombie Apocalypse Squad (Cancelled !)

Zapper looked with pity at the family, all crowded around one another and sobbing for their lost son. He looked at Andy, she had her face in her hands. Samuel looked guilty for breaking the news, and even Robin looked sad. Chris had gone outside, the sick bastard was unable to show his emotions to them all.

ZapperX blinked out a tear.

Then he laughed.

He laughed like a bloody madman.

*Hunter merely sits on the couch, a stunned look on his face*

No offense, Zapper, but I doubt you'd be able to tell that Chris was was crying just now. In the past there's only been one occasion where he's even been close to tears. He's just not really one for showing his emotions apart from when he's pissed off and if anything here you'd expect him to leave out of politeness because he was unable to give the emotional response the situation would call for. The reality that he's crying his eyes out is completely out of character for him.

Besides, after what he did to Samuel's dad I thought Zapper thinks that Chris is a heartless murdering bastard (incidentally, so does Chris, but we'll get to that when someone comes out to talk to him), and everybody knows heartless murdering bastards don't cry.

[Ya, ya we know. Chris is a sunglass wearing, leather toting, bad motha fucka. ]

[Fixd, and get ready for a huge emotional rant]

His laughter swelled intensely, like the laughter of a villian from a cheap movie. As it died down, he looked around to see everyone looking at him. He looked at them all and yelled to them.

"You monsters make me sick. Crying like lost children over the loss of one that is close, yet never thinking twice on the deaths of people you don't know! Sparrow was not the only one that died today. An older gentleman was tortured by our own Chris, and killed by our Samuel. This man had killed Sparrow, I believe, but he was a human being! We had no right to kill him! I not only cried for Sparrow, but for him as well! I didn't even know this man's name! Did any of you shed a tear for all the people that became zombies? NO! Do you all see the problems with us? And look at how pathetic we are. We lost Doc, Portal, and now Sparrow. Who next? Andy? Sam? Me? Well, no more! I'm done with this damn group! I'm leaving! I'm going to fufill Portal's last request! And I'm gonna keep people alive! Who will join me?"

Zapper looked around.

"WHO WILL JOIN ME??"

 

[ZapperX]

Zapper stared at the shovel, then screamed back at Chris.

"You BASTARD! You're giving me a lecture? You're the monster that shot that old man mercilessly and left him to suffer! At least Sam took him out of his pain! You have no right! No right, to tell me what's bad! Look at yourself, Chris. You've become a beast. I used to think Sparrow was the most dangerous, but he gave his life to save Sam! You've been the truly evil one among us ALL ALONG!! He ended what could have been a tragedy, yet you make new ones! Burn in hell, you selfish bastard! Portal saved my life, so how DARE you call him the evil one! He went out of his way to help us in the very beginning, he kept me ALIVE! And if I'm right about these... He really never killed anyone, not even himself! Now..."

He looked back to everyone else.

"Who wants to keep the few humans left alive? Who will come with me?"

He extended his arm to the others.

*Portal was reading a Science Weekly magazine in the afterlife when a strange feeling came over him*

I sense a disturbance in the force. Maybe the barrier between worlds will break soon.

*Portal shrugged and shrunk back into his chair*

Not my problem anymore. I'm dead.

[I'd love to post now, but I've got to go to school right now. I'll post something this evening!]

*There were people who needed help, people who needed care, but Andy could not. She hadn't known Sparrow... at all, really, but that such a strong member of the group had been killed was just...*

Mmph. That's not it. That's not right at all. I liked him, he was good; He was alive, and now he's not. How many people have I know that were alive, and are now not? Far too many. How many more were there that I didn't know? Almost an entire race.

*And now here was Zapper, yelling something, yelling at everyone. Then Chris - he, too, was yelling, but at Zapp.

*She shot up from the sofa, practically running to the door*

[Sparrow]

Robin was finding it hard to concentrate with the ramblings and shouts that were echoing around him. The bleeding shell of the human they called Zapp was huddled on the floor. Only then did he see the female walk out of the room. He followed her out into the street, where she seemed to be plotting a route out.

"You. Female. What are you doing?"

 

[ZapperX]

Zapper was furious at this point. He NEEDED those devices from Chris, and this arguement wasn't helping him at all. He ran out of the house and continued to bark at Chris.

"Why does Portal deserve the chance to live? Why? Because he HAS another chance! I would do the same for anyone else! If I could bring Sparrow back, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but we only have a chance for Portal, now! You weren't even with us when we first got together, you don't know what Portal has done for us. The reason he even GOT the radiation poisoning in the first place was because he shot a nuke at the goddamn queen. He could have died right there, and we would never have heard from him again! He literally gave an ARM to do that, to try and end this once and for all! WE HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING! We've just been traveling around, trying to live like the selfish human bastards we are! Give me those devices! Portal and I will put an end to this, if the ZAS won't!"

 

[ZapperX]

Zapper had now calmed down as well, and spoke to Chris as he left. "No... Chris... I think you know what those things are for too. If we're right, he isn't trying to avoid taking responsibility. If we're right..."

Zapper's voice cracked. He took a deep breath and barely murmured. He knew that Chris couldn't hear him now, but he had to say it.

"And I know he can be redeemed... Just like I know you can."

He walked back inside to reopen his invitation.

 

[SamuelT]

Samuel got up from the side of Sparrow's crying mother. He had tried to console her, but the feeling that he was guilty of Sparrow's death didn't make that easy. He had looked and listened at the conversation, if you could call it that way, between Zapper and Chris. If anything, he didn't think that Chris did something wrong. If he hadn't tortured Greg, Samuel would have done it instead.

Zapper entered the room again, but Samuel wakled right past him. He saw Chris dig furiously into the soft ground next to the door. Samuel went to him, waiting for Chris to open up.

 

[Sparrow]

Robin could not think. He'd moved away from the conversation, but it had followed him outside.

"Human. Chris, that is your name right? If this human is that much of a problem, take off one of his limbs."

 

[ZapperX]

As Sam walked past him in the hallway, Zapper stopped. It would be foolish to open up his group to people that would probably stay in this house. There was still Kid, but he needed more than just one person. Why did Shar and Clirck have to be in comas? Why now?

It didn't matter anymore. Even if no one followed him, he could do this alone. He had been alone before, he could sure as hell do it again.

That didn't stop him from wanting someone. He hated being alone.

 

[SamuelT]

"No, not a monster. You perhaps reacted a bit vicious, but nothing can be done about that now. Zapp's just processing everything, in his own way. Give him a few hours and he'll be calm again." Samuel said.

The sun shone down on the ravaged land. It was an oddly peaceful sight.
