So, after recently taking a look into the most recent zombie thread, I decided to do something a little different to the standard 'lolinfiniteammo' angle a lot of people seem to have. =3 (All props to Gecko Clown for giving me the idea)

Basic Rules:
You must be able to carry everything on your person. If something sounds sketchy, explain it out.
"Really large bags of X" are not allowed, particularly ammo. =3
Anything mentioned must be current-age and readily obtainable, 'most' things requiring a permit within reason are allowed. (guns, knives etc)
You can be infected. Known to spread by saliva and blood.
If something comes in many (ammo, batteries, food, etc), state numbers and remember you need to carry it all, no stashes.
Things can, and will wear/break with constant/improper use. Item in question pending.
You are allowed encouraged to be a MacGuyver and play the do-it-yourself game with anything feasible.

Scenario is: Zombies, lots of them.
Really slow, really strong, really stupid, unlikely to starve variety.
Highly sensitive to noise, known to group up.

Numbers: Easily outnumbering surviving humans 1000s to 1

Goal: Survive long enough to be rescued (unlikely) or until you manage to find safety.

Be descriptive, the more the better. =3
Enjoy!

Dude, slow zombies are boring. My weapon would be a pair of comfortable walking shoes.

Drive up to grocery store, get a shit ton of food.

Board up windows.

Tons of game time.

would carry basic shit: biggest knife I can find, pistol with at least 2 magazines (most likely to find), shotgun and bunch of backpacks in case I find something I could need (really, in a zombie apocalypse, guns stores and shit would be pretty accessible) and home 1st aid packs

to avoid infection, gonna wear the most dignified gimp suit I can find, or something similar, you know, since latex does protect from liquids (blood and saliva in this case)

probably gonna use the knife the most to avoid wasting ammo with my incredibly shitty accuracy, and because of the whole loud noises thingy

then, just find a safe place (high if possible, like, say, a building department) with a window and wait a few days until the zombies start blowing up due to decomposition gas accumulation

Some plate armor, a gas mask, a poleaxe, and a mace (not the canned variety). They can't hurt me through my armor, can't infect me through the gas mask, and I can make a murder of them with my poleaxe. If it breaks or they get too close, beat their heads in with the mace.

Slow doesn't mean easy, take the earlier RE games for example.
Besides, all zombies regardless of type can normally lunge at about 1-2 meters.

Scenario 1:
Drive to store, find out every man and his dog had the same idea, find tones of zombies.

Scenario 2:
Drive to store, come back with supplies, wonder why they aren't starving or decaying 2 months later.

Also, good luck with the power staying on for more than a few days, those places need management. =3

Did you say highly sensitive to noise?

It's funny cause it's true :D
I had no idea you wanted to attract every zombie within 5 miles. =3

unless you live in a history museum, or in a somehow never found giant medieval castle, i doubt you would find any of those items

well i live in Canada, guns aren't just lying around, although i do have a 3 foot kitchen knife.
for Armour i guess id where as much padding as possible, then head south twords the great lakes (or something like that)
id make raids in small towns along the coast of the lake for food, avoiding all and any mouvment

M-16A4 with 1200 rounds of ammo, it's really light ammo seriously look it up.
A solar powered flashlight so I don't need batteries, yes a solar powered flashlight is a real thing look it up.
FN Five-seveN pistol with 5 mags.
The ever trusty KA-BAR knife for utility purposes and an emergency weapon.
And 2 hand grenades in case i need to blow something up.

Just a clarification:
They are not going to starve if you board yourself up. They are not going to start decaying either.

Sound is going to attract them.

You are going to run out of ammo if you play Rambo.

You are probably going to need to rest and sleep.

Sure they can't bite through plate armor, but it weighs you down. Get grabbed and pulled down, you ain't getting up again. Sure they can't bite you but you will suffocate under the other zombies that pile up trying to bite you :/

I'd grab my dads hunting rifle, cut my hair short, wear light and tight clothing, stock up on food and get a floor or two above ground where I would await rescue.

I own three pistols (one of which is an old police revolver) in their own carrying case with ammo, a shotgun with it's own leather case that has a strap to be slung over you to carry it, two 22 Caliber rifles and a case of ammo for them. Get to a gun store, pick up spare ammo, pick up a bunch of wood, get home, board up the 8 windows, smash the sliding glass door and board it up, board up the windows. Then wait with a whole lot of guns and ammo. Oh, and play Disturbed, KISS and Wolfmother really fucking loud. Snipe the idiots that get close.
That's cool, but

Ones in museums are not a strong as ones made today, old and rusty usually. You can get functional plate armor online and a local blacksmith can make it. Tain't cheap, but never was.

Full medieval combat gears weighs about 60-70 pounds. Modern combat gear weighs upwards of 100 lbs. The weight in plate is spread across your body. The armor on the legs and arms is thinner and lighter than the thick head and chest armor. Almost anything you can do out of plate, you can do while wearing plate.
