I wouldn't just barge in. I try to contact a house before entering. Those that still have people in them will be watched, maybe contacted, but I would be going to their place. A large percent of food in a given household is usually quite perishable, more so when refrigeration and freezers stop working. Plans? =3
Meat and other perishables in my house will be consumed first. The same in other houses will be disregarded the day after power goes out. If I'm lucky enough to stumble upon a generator it will be put to use, however I will not count on this until I find it. There will be plenty of nonperishable food available.
