It could be alright. Personally, I think a Civil War zombie game would be cooler. Preferably with authentic reload times.
Ah! Good things to know.AjimboB said:In that case, a word to the wise. Assault on Dark Athena has both games, Escape from Butcher's Bay, and Assault on Dark Athena, because Dark Athena was originally supposed to be an expansion, not a full game. So if you want to buy them, only buy Dark Athena, it has the original game with updated graphics and AI, and the sequel. All together, it's about 20 hours of gameplay + multiplayer.DoctorNick said:I might go and check those games out, I've heard good things about them and at this point the price [http://www.amazon.com/Chronicles-Riddick-Escape-Butcher-Bay-Xbox/dp/B00019HNN2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1263952125&sr=8-1] is right. Butcher's Bay more-so, because it was harder to get a gun. That game was made by Starbreeze studios.DoctorNick said:I never expected to actually say these words but: I think it might be a job for Sega.Ithae said:Exactly my point. Any idea of a company that could make a great game in this style, just out of curiously?DoctorNick said:While I'm not aware of any, I DO like the idea.
If I could play as a Roman Centurion hacking my way through a horde of undead... I donnow, that might just make my fucking day.
Mostly I say that because this obviously needs to be a game with fantastic first-person melee combat, and their game Condemned: Criminal Origins is about the ONLY game that I've played with anything resembling satisfying melee combat.
I'm sure they could do a good job with the concept of zombies in the middle ages.
But as for the topic at hand, like I said I can only recommend companies with games I've actually played so I'm forced to stay with Sega for now.
...
Feudal Japan VS Zombies might also be pretty bad ass. You'd actually get to use a katana in a game where it FITS AND MAKES SENSE rather than it just being stuck in because the developers were uncreative hacks who thought it would be cool!
I have no idea why, but that sentence made me laugh so hard. Thank you for that.Amnestic said:And that's stupid. Don't do that.

2D games FTW bro! Zombies swarm up to Sparta, devouring everyone they come by. Them the Spartan warriors gather up, and charge the opposing force. Take it from them, and you have a badass games.Flamingpenguin said:This is screaming to me "if you design it... they will come"
As a flash artist I would love some more specifics on this. If people would give me suggestions I could surely make something of them.
Note the *flash* part. I'm only good for 2D games atm.
OT: Yes, I would definitely check that out. I always thought the coolest parts of the zombie survuval guide were the unconventional weapons. Particularly, don't pick up the chainsaw or flamethrower (if it's even available), do pick up a crossbow or katana or shaolin spade (if available).
Just from reading that book there are tons of possibilities.
If not me, someone needs to at least try this.
