"Yea thats true, securing an area where we can grow food is important, but we need to ensure that our main dweling is secure. Come to think of it, if we break down all the desks in this school, we can scavange the metal bars from the desks and weld them together and bar the doors and windows, that would make them a hell of a lot more secure."

"Um...thanks" Leon took Adries' advice and started hammering softly at first. "You know what, it does work better like this..."

At the theatre, Lording was busy hammering when he noticed that everyone had left him... "Jeez... this sucks." Unfazed, he decided to just continue hammering until it was finished.

Adries nodded at both Leon and Charles. She took a deep breath and thought. After a minute of silence she replied back to Charles, "If we can get the students to do that with the desks than it should be done relatively quickly. It won't get done tonight though. I say we tell them of the plan before we turn everything off. We'll get them to work tomorrow on it. We also need to tell them no lights or loud noises when it's dark...or even when it daylight for that matter."

"Agreed, we should have several students start on the desk breaking now and have them instuct the others on how it is done. As for noise disipline, I don't think that will be a problem everyone is so freaked out that their afraid the smallest wisper will bring death."

"For right now, it's pretty good that everyone's scared silent. It won't attract zombies, and it'll give us time to think and plan."

"Yeah, good idea about getting people to work on it now. Once we're done here we'll go get the calmer students to start. Hell, maybe even I will help them. Not like there is much to do. Nothing at all. Nothing....at all," Adries said, growing quiet after realizing what she said.

'Nothing. What is important now? Survival? For how long? Best not to think about it.'

After two long hard hours, James Lording finished making a barricade on the theatre entrance. "Well... I guess its time." He took the stairs to the roof and looked down to see a horde of zombies. "I can do this." He then proceeded to climb down the fire escape.

(I'm not going to post all of Lording's outside adventures, so, in about thirty minutes, I'll make a post describing his return.)

Adries sighed, looking over the work that was the main entrance barricade. "I think this is sufficient," she says triumphantly, a grin spread across her face. "We should head back up to the Chemistry class now, tell everyone about the plans. All that good stuff."

Adries nodded, heading back upstairs. She calmed down some nearby students who were wondering what was going on. She asked a few of them to go into the Chem room for briefing on some important matters before heading to the nearest office with the PA system.

"Attention students of Sly High. This is Adries. A lot has happened today, and I know that you are all afraid. I understand that. I know it's going to be hard but we have to work together to survive this zombiepocalypse. The first thing is that we all must be quiet, and turn off all lights. I believe the school has it's own generator; which we'll use when the town's power plant stops...which should be anytime now. Along with that I'm asking for volunteers to help with taking the metal bars off the desks so we can make some more barriers. It would be much appreciated. We will come up with more definite plans on what we'll do tomorrow. I hope you have a goodnight and...yeah. That's it."

With that she stepped back from the PA and took a deep breath. "Phew. Man, I am so not going to keep doing that," she muttered, wiping sweat from her brow.

************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Chapter 4: The Day Ends(A.K.A: That last Chapter was kind of long, wasn't it?)

And so, as the darkness falls over the ruined city, the school goes quiet, and the students take a well deserved rest in the Chem lab.

But a new day will dawn soon... Will our makeshift band of heroes be ready for what happens next?

At night -

Mr. Lording, after a few trips to his car, brought bags of food and guns up through the roof towards the Chem room. "Adries?" he whispered, as to be certain not to wake anyone up. "We need to discuss something."

"Huh? Oh, Mr. Lording. Hiya," Adries mumbled, yawning as she stood up, "What do you need?"

((Okay, I am going to jump in here kind of, got clearance, and of course there is no time like the present.))
Name: Max Edison
Age: 17
Favorite subject: Biology.
Items in backpack: Two big thick textbooks, 25 pencils, and three notebooks full of what can at best be described as scribbles.
Backstory: For most of his life Max has had problems with interpersonnel issues, some say it is because his parents were mean, others say it is because of all the time he spends playing video games, but the most popular theory is that he is psychotic. Luckily the major breakthroughs in medical science mean that for about 12 hours at a time he can remain normal. When the zombies hit he flipped out, hiding in the bathroom the entire day, hoping they would go away, and each hour he cowered in there the effects of his medicines faded.

"I brought a few guns, nothing fancy, just a couple of shotguns and four pistols." Lording said. "I'm keeping one of the shotguns, but you can take the other. Also, there's something else, but that might want to wait until we're some place a bit more... quiet."

Max has been hiding in the bathroom all day, fearing they would come, clutching his Bio Textbook, waiting to strike, finally a door swung open, a person walked in. He was young, no older than 15, a Freshman. Max immediately saw him as a threat and swung into action bringing his textbook down on the boy's skull. The boy screamed. Max continued to bludgeon him. There was a mixture of emotions in the boy's eyes. Fear. Incredulity. Finally anger.

The boy raised his hands up to defend himself, it was too late. He was only a few hits away from the end, and Max's assault was unrelenting. Finally there was a pool of blead where the boy's head had been. In the aftermath Max noted the boy's behavior was odd, he could talk, he thought enough to defend himself, he had emotions. The only conclusion was that the zombies were smart, they behaved just like a normal person, and they had overrun the school. He would have to find them out and destroy them. Hopefully they would confuse him for one of their own.

Max dropped the book and left the bathroom, wandering around the school until at last he saw it. The zombies were nesting in the Chemistry Lab, he would infiltrate them, he would destroy them. He knocked on the lab door

Leon woke up, sitting up and groggily rubbing his eyes. For a moment, he almost forgot he was here, barricaded in the chemistry room of a high school, riding out the zombie apocalypse. When he remembered where he was, his short-lived happiness disappeared. Time to return to reality he thought.
