JD was distraught. To him, it seemed like all hope was lost for them. But then he noticed something.

"Hey, we're missing one person. Where's Carver?" He asked to whoever listened.

((Alright. Now that all that talking about this roleplay and that quick discussion on my future one (in which I'm currently drawing out the characters (which I always put off doing with this roleplay)), let's get back to this baby! ))

"Indeed. Oh, so...when we clean up the lab I'll need some blood samples from the both of you," Alan told the two.
"Argh, I hate giving blood. It's not the sight of blood that bugs me, that's pretty cool. It's mainly because of that one time where the nurse kept missing my vein," Adries said, flashbacking.
"Ow. I'm thankful I've never had to deal with that."

Dewey and Jacobs nodded at Jack, not really sure what to do. When JD talked they looked around for a moment before stopping in case they gave anything away.

Jack silently lead them to the former Police HQ. He had the zombies take the survivors into the main cellarea before having them searched and placed inside. All of them were cleared for weapons. He left five of his leapers to keep them contained, and kept JD paralyzed for the time being, but didn't bother to separate him from the others. He had filled the station with a small contingent of zombies, but he had left the specials outside to patrol in case the APC came to rescue them.

((I like how I'm already done with my first character design for my new roleplay the day I come up with it, while my character designs for this roleplay that I've had months to work on are still in my head. XP ))

"Well this sucks," Dewey muttered to Jacobs, looking outside of his cell.
"You're right. But, we'll get out of this," Jacobs replied, not sure if anyone would bother to believe in him after what happened.

JD laid on the cold prison floor. Still immobile, still paralyzed. Unsure if what Jacobs said was true. Will they get out of this? He called out to Jack.

"Hey Mr. Fletcher? Can you turn off the paralysis? I want to feel my legs one more time before you decide to kill us. And then maybe, just maybe, you won't have to worry about me kicking your ass." He said, wearily.

Even though he was paralyzed, he was still on the same psychological level as Jack. Maybe he could find a way out of this.

JD closed his eyes, and started to meditate.

Jack spoke to JD through the link.

"My lord, you just don't get it do you? I would rather nobody die, I would rather infect them. All you need to do is simply stay there and when this is over you will be free to do as you wish, so long as you stay out of my way. It is the same deal I offer the soldiers, no more and no less."

"Being infected is as good as being dead." JD retorted through the mind speak.

"And i don't think these soldiers would want to instantly lose all they were fighting for. Do you really think they would give up all this to become your mindless slaves? I surely doubt it. And do you know what I wouldn't want to lose? My humanity (or rather, what's left of it, since half of my body is a monstrosity.)"

Jack laughed inside of JD's mind.

"I knew you wouldn't understand it. These soldiers gain what they have always fought for, peace. I do not want mindless slaves either, the zombies have the capability to think and that gives me hope that some semblance of humanity can be restored in time. I do not wish to rule over them either, I only wish to act as a guide and keep them from their otherwise feral nature. You did not see the zombies I have seen, they were little more than wild dogs. Besides, if you had been paying attention, I offer all of them and you the choice to not be infected under me. I keep saying that so long as you stay out of my domain you may do exactly as you wish, and the zombies I control will neither help nor harm.

You haven't seen the world the way I have, you are too young. Genocide, pandemic, and war loomed over our heads every moment of every day, and I can finally do something about it. With the world as zombies, there will be no more war, no more disease, no more death. The world will see an era of peace and prosperity it has never known. You think humanity is so grand? What has it ever done to deserve its place? If anything humanity has only found new and more dangerous ways of killing itself off. Look at the big picture for once child, humanity is dying. Their numbers dwindle with every passing day, and some of it not even from zombies. Even as humanity is endangered, there are still those that murder and steal, killing others so they might live. When humanity is gone, the zombies will need someone or something to give them a purpose or they will simply roam the lands looking for things to infect that are no longer there. Unfortunately, I am the only chance they have at structure. In time though, I can give them back everything except the memory of who they once were, and they will need not bow down to me anymore. I will fade into the background as nothing more than a gently nudging hand, keeping them from that which spelled the downfall of humanity, and guiding them to progress.

Answer me one question, if you will. What has humanity done to deserve its place? What have they done other than kill and oppress one another? What have they contributed to the world at large, and not just themselves? If you can give me one good answer to any of those questions, one that I cannot form a rebuttal of equal or greater value to, then I will happily step aside. I will stand down and hand my life over after the one who caused all of this is dead. Alan Bixler has committed crimes against human and zombie alike, and he must be punished. When this is over, if you give me that answer, I will let you decide if it is you or Christie who kills me. Though I will say this, she has the first and greater claim on my life."

JD stopped meditating and opened his eyes. He couldn't believe what he was hearing, but Jack could be right. He sighed heavily.

"Can you turn off my paralysis and let me out of this cell? I want to speak to you in person." JD said calmly.

"Doubt he'd a let ya' do that," Dewey said from his cell, throwing a small rock back and forth between him and Jacobs.
"We need to be optimistic! Don't be so gloomy," Jacobs replied back, catching and tossing the rock back.

"Only another hour I think," Alan said, taking a look at the map when they passed a sign.
"YES," Adries said cheerfully.

((Argh, I was going to tell you something Pm0n3y but the message system is acting stupid for me. :( ))

((What were you gonna say, tsa?))

"Don't be gloomy? Are you mental?" JD said jokingly

"Do you know how it feels to not use your body? It feels like everything below my neck is gone! Not to mention that bodily fluids excrete involuntarily when your bottom half is paralyzed. I could've shit myself several times, and I wouldn't be able to tell because I can't move my upper half! Really, i just want to walk around again. I miss my legs." JD said in between hysterical laughs.

"Oh, and for the record, it's a good chance you three might turn into zombies before the day is over. Just so you know." He said, trying to turn his neck so he could get a better look at his fellow prisoners.

Jacobs didn't really know how to reply to that. He sat down in his cell, trying to think about what would happen. He's normally a cheerful guy, but after hearing JD he wasn't sure he could continue being like that.

Jack thought for a moment before replying to JD.

"As a sign of good will I will allow you a compromise. Your telekinesis will be disabled and your arms paralyzed, and in exchange I will allow you full use of the rest of your body. I would like to believe you would not attack me should I give you back full control, but I am not willing to take that risk. You will also get your chance to speak with me in semi-privacy. I will have guards in case you should become violent. Does this seem a fair enough deal to you JD?" Jack said as he had the scorcher and a few leapers enter the room.

"Fine by me" JD said calmly.

"Now, can you let me up? Something smells, and I think it's my underwear." He said with a ultra-serious tone.

Jack stopped paralyzing everything but JD's arms and his telekinetic abilities. He sent five leapers down to bring JD to him. Hopefully JD wouldn't try anything or he would just paralyze him all over again, he rather wouldn't have to do that.

As the feeling came back to JD's chest and lower half, he immediately sprang up, that his before falling back down, due to stiff joints.

"GAH! I'm gonna feel all this in the morning." He said, as his bones cracked and snapped.

He shook out his legs, and walked out the cell, eying the leapers.

"Well, where to?" He said to one of them.

The leaper JD talked to turned around and walked silently back towards the chief's office where Jack was. The rest surrounded him in case he tried anything.

As they arrived at the office, JD looked at Jack.

"Really? Did you need 5 undead bodyguards to escort me here? I still can't move my arms, so even if was to scuffle using only my legs, it still would've useless due to the fact that I wouldn't have any balance to do any kicks. So you may have overdid it a bit there." He said, taking a seat near his former teacher.

"Perhaps, but I know you are powerful and I don't know your full capability. I would rather overestimate my defenses than underestimate them though. You never know with this virus what will be coming next, if there is one thing I've learned through all of this it is that simple fact. Now, why were you so adamant about getting a chance to talk to me? When not too long ago you would have killed me given the chance." Jack asked with the scorcher beside him as one leaper went to each corner and the fifth blocking the door.

"Well...when you explained it to me...your plan to make the world a better place; it sounded like you had a good point. But there's one thing I don't understand: Zombies can't think for themselves. The only way you they'll be calm is if you control them. No matter how much times you will say it, a zombie will never have rational thought. If you let one off it's mind-leash, it'll do what you would expect it to do: moan, and eat living tissue. So, your idea for a war-free Utopia may sound promising in theory, but it seems like it'll be impossible to pull off." JD said.
