How about you make a rule that you can only start exterminating zombies once there's 3 of them in play and you can only exterminate one of them per turn.

EDIT: Or say there must always be one on the board, that works but I'd rather have an option to totally eliminate them.
Hmm, if it is one per turn, then there could be an auction among the players. highest bidder gets to choose what zombie gets killed.

The player who gets 'landed on' should probably pay a penalty of some sort along with the added zombie, because if we can't infect, we must leech.

I figured how to combine chess and zombies. It makes chess three to fpur players. You have two zombie sides, pennies and nickels, or whatever you have around in abundance, and you place 2 for both zombie teams on the left and right sides of the board. One team controls each type of zombies, or one person controls all zombies, depending on your preference. Zombies attack in any direction, but if not attacking they can either move one space vertically/horizontally, or jump over one another in any direction; Chinese checkers style. The catch is as long as they can keep jumping, the zombies can chain jumps. Chain jumping does not prevent a kill. If a zombie kills a human, another zombie is added at the zombie spawn.

This is also cool because it allows GAME MODES to be added to chess, including Free for All (All four teams fight to win simulataneously from the start), Survival(Humans VS Zombies), Opportunist (same as survival but once one side is dead the remaining sides continue the game to pick a winner) and target (white gets one zombie team, black the other).

Is it any good, or are there gamebreaking flaws?

you should have the zombie "attack" you when you are on the same space and it takes a fraction equal to x10% of a single roll of the die.

So, if you and a zombie are on the same space and the zombie rolls a five, you lose 50% of your money.
