Zombies in Modern Warfare 2?

I don't think so. I mean, it's considered fine to dehumanize Nazis. Others...? No, not really. It is fun though.

I'm not so sure they could get away with it in Modern Warfare for more or less the reason in the quote above.

The Nazis were undoubtably evil, you only need to mention the Holocaust for evidence of that. This is why it's perfectly acceptable for us to kill them en mass with absolutely no context or questions asked (and why joking about Nazi Zombies won't offend anyone).

Largely the German population was conscripted and followed their orders aswell as torrents of propaganda. They're not all rotten to the core, look at Schindler! Also look at the misguided people of North Korea today. They're not bad people just misinformed.

While it is true that the majority of the Nazi regime was made up of ordinary people who were just following orders (like you said, there were plenty of good and kind people in Nazi Germany) but the general idea is that it is widely accepted that the Nazis as a whole were a tad on the ammoral side (even if not every individual that made it up was like that).

I see your point and it's accepted, but I feel that fundementalist Muslims follow a similar grain if they have shown they would happily destroy other cultures and anyone not following their beliefs. Recently watched something where the Taliban destroyed two, one thoasand or so year old Buddhist statues as it "opposed Allah" (that has to be worse than burning books). In my book they're fair game for zombification (as is everyone!)

Yeah, sure it would cause a huge fuss though...

OT: i'd like zombies put in the game as i didn't actually get COD5 so haven't tried it out yet.

At least Infinity Ward can steal ideas from Treyarch instead of the other way round.

They have confirmed there will be no zombies but instead special ops mode. Which is a two player game wich will be kind of like The airplane Epilouge mission from MW1.

I found it to be pretty shocking when I saw the Nazis goose stepping towards me, and my friends claim they see a Hitler zombie every now and then...this is the kind of mockery you could rarely ever do to another group of people or nation (the only other game I can think of that got away with something like this is Punch Out!!).

And while I enjoy it still, I believe it's one of the most racist concepts in gaming.

It wouldn't exactly be racist. Nazis aren't another race. And even so, things like this really did happen in WWII. Didn't you ever read the zombie survival guide =D? I don't really see how it could be found offensive...no one truly wants to be associated with Hitler or the nazis. Now if it was called German Zombies, that would be a different story.

The reason I called it racist and not discriminatory, is because I was trying to see if someone would catch me out on that. Glad you did.

Now, it's one of the most discriminatory concepts in gaming. And on the flipside, if there was a Vietnam game from the perspective of the Viet Cong, and there was a mode called something similar, where you were toasting American soldiers (and I'm going by the belief that most Americans don't like to think about the Vietnam war, or to really bring it up), do you think people would let it slide? I think not, they would call it offensive, like this is.

And why no 'imperial zombies'? Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I'm going to point it out, regardless.

Technically, Shi No Numa was Imperial Zombies.
OT: They are having SpecOps, which is a bunch of Co-Op challenges.

At the time of typing that though, I don't think that was out. The pack with Shi No Numa is pretty recent.
