Well.. yes Simple Question

In all the Zombie movies ive seen. And thats alot.. (btw I love Zombie movies)
They never seem to attack eachother.

Im just wondering.. Why not? What keeps them from eating eachother. Wether or not they are waking dead.

Or Infected like 28 days/Weeks Later..

What do you think`?

Something about new flesh that excites them. Dead flesh you can get anytime. But a new piece of meat? Yeah...

I assuming Zombies like brains, and once a person dies their brain rots and degrades. Just a guess.

Their purpose is to spread the infection? Biting another zombie=pointless.

What would you rather eat, rotten meat, or fresh meat? I'm pretty sure it's the same for Zombies.

According to the Zombie survival guide, zombies cant reconise other zombies. I.g. They see another zombie, they think its just an object.

I guess they might start eating each other when there are no more humans, but fresh meat just tastes a lot better than rotting meat. Or maybe they just attack humans because they're jealous of the living or something.

Also, there are the supernatural (necromancy, demons, etc) type zombies who just eat humans because they're evil.

I've often wondered that myself, presumably zombies may consider other zombies as 'kin' much like how it is socially unnacceptable for me to go out into the street and eat someone but it is perfectly acceptable for me to eat a beef burger.
You know, the living are okay to eat... not the dead.

But then again, the infected in 28 days later are not zombies, they are just beserkers who kill any non infected on sight and in some respects I find it a little hard to believe that a virus would allow them to think on terms of being a pack. Admittedly the cunning predatory creatures were scary to watch but in reality I think they would more than likely tear each other apart as well as the non infected.

But still, as others have said. It could be a virus with a will to spread in which case it would function better if all the vectors for the disease chose to work together.

Because if they attacked each other they'd be a lot less threatening and a lame horror antagonist.

It would make for a boring movie.

"Oh noe! Zombies!"
"Don't worry, It's Okay, they're eating each other"
"We did it, YAH!"

But in any case, I never really stoped and wondered.

But.. im not talking movie..

im talking fandom fluff:p

It ponders my mind logically.

ZOmbies seem to loose ALL control.. they will eat their own family.. but somehow they are capable to reckognize another zombie?

I want an answer!

Well, their senses make them seem like rotting meat to each other. It is a human notion to classify as dead or alive, Zombies wouldn't live on rotten meat so they're brains don't even consider it as a food source.

Yeah, I*mm going to have to agree with most others here. That it's the point of having fresh meat. But then it'd have to be something that would tell them to go for the fresh meat, as I find it hard to believe they have any way of tasting anything. What with their brains not being in tip top shape and stuff. They can't really feel pain either. Therefore it must be assumed that they are simply drawn to it.

Some might say that it's a bit more of a vampire-esk thing they've got going with brains. As we know, it's a common conception that zombies enjoy eating brain. And some might suggest that they need these brains to continue. But that I strongly doubt as they are running around for greater amounts of time before they eat any brain. But while we're at the brains part. It might be that that's attracting them. The brain somehow attracts them. Perhaps a smell, or something. Because surely they can smell? Right?

And as for the point of passing on the infection, I'm not sure I'd place my money on that. Because zombies doesn't seem to even recognize other zombies. They're allways ignoring and in worst case pushing each other away. And if this was a point of passing the infection on, I'd think that they would at least recognize those with the infection. Just my thoughts on the matter.

I thought zombies didn't have brains. No brain, No gain.

Or maybe, their brains are infected with the disease.
