I am going to rail on progressive politics once more. On one side you have people thinking mutual aid will save us, and on the other, you have people who think that 20 justice democrats vs 10 will somehow Tea Party the democrats on critical votes away from not caring about climate change beyond meaningless gestures and half measures. On one hand, you have people thinking the People's Party, and the Green Party will somehow win, and on the other you have people thinking the democrats just need a progressive president. Neither of those will work
Look at New York City, they had a progressive mayor, and now their new mayor is once again in the pocket of the elites. What happens to an FDR for the left. Bill D Biaso was incompetent, lots of New Yorkers hated him, and he let the police unions get the better of him, and now they won. I don't have much faith in progressive executives after that, and the disorganized, incompetent left.
Look at the bipartisan infrastructure deal, as soon as progressive democrats in the house, and senate threaten to hold their vote on it to force a vote on the reconciliation bill, the moderate Republicans in the Senate just decided to vote on the bill, and the correct answer would have been to not split the bill in two since it was a must-pass bill, but the justice democrats fell for it. It's likely the moderates in the house would vote for it given the signaling by the moderate republicans.
And these are the people that are supposed to save us with the Green New Deal. If I was rich I would buy a bunker in a safe area too.
